This is fabulous - it's lovely to see it done properly by dancers that are well trained enough and old enough to know what they are doing. The problem with most online exam material is it's always shown by kids, not the teachers. Therefore we are not seeing the ideal for exam purposes. They are often off their timing and execution so badly one cannot even figure out what it is supposed to be. I really really appreciate these examples shown the way they are done. Love!

As a RAD student, who graduated intermediate foundation ( aka grade 6 ) , i was curious to see your guys' exercises. The only thing i have to say : why are yall turning so much? I am jealous 😭
Hello, I am incredibly grateful for this video. Thank you for sharing. Please, do you mind listing the piece of music you used for each exercise here. I'd be very grateful. Thank you.
This is the Imperial Classical Ballet syllabus offered by ISTD? Are there any videos showing the Cecchetti syllabus also offered by ISTD? I want to decide which method is the best and most suitable for me to study: RAD, Cecchetti or Imperial Ballet.
3 cheers for the ISTD, and a thumbs down for the RAD, The ISTD,teach not only dance but the actual craft and motivation and artistry that ballet involves, whereas the RAD teach you steps, technique and that's IT. I have been trained in both methods, and will ALWAYS choose Imperial over the RAD.
Vaganova is also really good! RAD doesn't teach you the flow and coordination of the arms, legs and body. There also isn't much discipline in the method. I found it really irritating to watch and study. I literally quit 3 months after starting. I'd stick to Vaganova, Cecchetti or ISTD.
@@Анна-ж9ц1ь I agree with you whole heartedly. If you only want to learn technique and end up like a robot ballet dancer, then the RAD are just the ticket, but if you want to be a dancer, and not an automaton, then ISTD or Vaganova or indeed ANY,other method than RAD is the way forward.
I’ve done ISTD ballet since I was 3 and I’ve loved it but when I got to grade 6 I was told pointe was mandatory in the exam (I was never gonna be a ballerina I haven’t got the build and I’m much more into tap), I have very weak ankles due to injuries so pointe was always a struggle for me so unfortunately I had to give up ballet. After watching this I am considering starting back again to do my grade 6 after lockdown, is all the pointe work done at the barre? If so maybe there’s hope for me🤞🏻🤞🏻Still going strong with tap and just about toe start my advanced 2 ISTD, did my advanced one in between the UK lockdowns in December with 2 hours practice before the exam (since March with the first lockdown as my dance school weren’t allowed to reopen). Got a distinction!!!!!
If u were a true/sincere dancer for any RAD, ISTD etc... u would know that all of them teach the same/similar things and each of them are unique and like istd aren’t better than RAD, so I am kindly asking u to next time reframe ur opinion or don’t share it @Liz B. Good for u if u choose this (no harm) others don’t care if u have done both RAD and ISTD... people Hardly see professional accomplished dancers from ISTD especially so take that into account and don’t comment “thumbs down for RAD”.
I’ve been doing RAD ballet since i started ballet and prefer it a lot more than ISTD when i left my old dance school i was 12 and doing Rad Grade 4 and inter - foundation But i didn’t do grade 2 ballet exam till i was 11 went to grade 3 but then just went up to grade 4 but i know i’ve grown to like IsTD a bit more but i much prefer RAD RAD is Pretty different But i think it’s easier But does teach TechniQue for Example in RAD they have 3 classical and 3 character dances and u choose 2 one from each whereas istd doesn’t. and RAD has a differnt grading system which i think is better rlly
