Actually it was made popular by Beyoncé because the generations that came after Etta James who probably had no knowledge of this song until Beyoncé sang it on Cadillac records. The song was popular when Etta James put it out but that was in 1960 and a lot of people weren’t born then. Therefore Beyoncé made it popular for younger generations to look into it. If you noticed I put Etta James in the title because it’s her song, so if people are to look it up, they can look for the original. So I gave credit to the originator but also the person who brought it to a new generation.

And a lot of people think Beyoncé created it, which is why I put Etta James name literally at the beginning of the title giving her credit for her song. How and I do mean how am I taking the credit away from her when the title literally says “Etta James - I’d Rather Go Blind Cover”?
