The deepest man in the world freediving in Dahab
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- Alexey Molchanov is a multiple world record holding freediver and co-founder of the Molchanovs, a freediving education system: molchanovs.com/
They also develop freediving equipment - the suit and the fins he wears are all by Molchanovs.
When Alexey is not training, teaching or developing new products, he likes to explore underwater and take photos. Here he is playing around in Lighthouse, Dahab, a popular freediving destination in Egypt.
Music is "Beyond here" by Salt of the Sound.
Yes, there are freedivers who have gone deeper: Herbert Nitsch went to 214 meters - on a sled, brought back up by a balloon. But in the self-propelled category of freediving, Alexey is the deepest, with a dive to 130 meters.
so beautiful thanks for sharing
Daan Verhoeven how many minutes you know?
let me check
3 minutes 55 sseconds
Absolutely incredible... I wish I could freedive deeper than 20 meters... sadly descending head-down makes equalizing almost impossible for me, despite having practiced with Andrea Zuccari's already years ago, numerous more modern tutorials on improving equalizing techniques and being able to Frenzel head-up :(
I'm in awe of his form when he swims past you at the start of the video. Brilliant capture Daan
thank you - his technique is immaculate, isn't it?
@@DaanVerhoeven definitely 💯
Probably the most perfect monofinkick I've seen, perfect line.
The man from Atlantis ain't got shit on him xD
I'm most impressed by the fish that built the elephant
I’m more impressed by the elephant that built the fish
so overrated
😂😂😂
Conversations with him must be exhausting...
As he’s so damn deep!!!!
conversations are mostly bubbles, and hard to hear
Daan Verhoeven yep.
Guess we’ll see what...
Bubbles up!

He swims soo elegantly. It's actually art
yes, he's pretty incredible!

welcome to Egypt bro
Thank you Ramy!
I felt like I was going to drown watching this video. That’s incredible how he can hold his breath that long.
yes, he's the world record holder for a reason!
The ocean is filled with alot of strange things, we are the strangest.
Eh
In the ocean?? And what's your measuring scale?
No. There are totally freaky things in the ocean. Some of the creatures look like they all should be wiped out.
In the Ocean ?!!🙄🙄 ..This is Dahab in the Red sea Egypt
@@lottnio8207 Nah, they Just adapted to the habitat, whats wrong with u wanting to kill them?
Леша молодец! Спасибо большое за видео, Даан!

Заметен СОВЕТСКИЙ СТИЛЬ ! Учил меня Дмитрий Филашов ! в 80х Москва!
Wow to have that control, to be able to hold your breath that long, to see what the rest of the world only sees via a tv or computer screen...You take my breath away!
it's a pretty epic sport!
Relaxis my mind watching and hearing the sounds. Your the best as always.✔✔✔
thank you Ren!
Absolutely breathtaking! So peaceful.

Absolutely Amazing ❤️
Wow. Simply beautiful!
Amei demais teu canal, amo os oceanos, se eu pudesse viver assim não pensaria duas vezes, é tão calmo debaixo da água, e existem lugares extremamente lindos, sempre me sinto em paz em lugares assim, very nice 🍃🌊
That visibility is astonishing.- I scuba dive in Sweden
yes, i normally dive in Cornwall, so this was pretty sweet!
Bruh props to this man ....it's freaking hard to do this ..to keep the posture, maintain the balance and speed bruv
yes, he's a world champion for a reason - trains like a beast!
Magnificent, thanks Daan & Alexey.
Thank you!
This is amazing😍
Thank you!
Amazing... it's another world underwater.
I recomend anyone to give scuba diving a try, you won't be disappointed!
amazing visibility
Super cool, fresh and pacifying Video!!!
Thank you!
Amazing dive and footage. Thank you for sharing.
pleasure!
Visibility in Dahab is out of the this world. Underwater is actually more clear than above
Ask Dan . But there's actually a bunch of treatment to adjust colour, making particles disappear etc. Water is clear but not unreal
@@franckdebank not sure what you’re talking about mate. And it’s kinda unreal too.
Awesome video Sir.
Absolutely amazing!!! 😎👍
thank you👌🏽
very, very.....free! Bellissimo.
Grazi!
I am impressed by his cameraman
thank you!
Respect to that camera man who I assume is also free diving...

Thank you! Yes, i was freediving too - can't keep up with Alexey, though!
@@DaanVerhoeven how can you keep that long under water you lungs must be realy big
Man, your videos are the best!! As soon as I see a new one I click it faster than the light. I don't know if I'm subscribed to your channel yet, if I am, I will unsubscribe to do it again :)
hahaha, thank you Jin!
Welcome to dahab, south saini , Egypt 🤩
Thank you!
My 1st time out of country was to go to South Sinai. I was stationed at the MFO camp. Learned to appreciate different cultures and beautiful blue water! And there was sand ..... LOTS of sand! I SO wish I could have dived while there! One day!
@@2LStews the contrast between the barren red dessert and the lively blue sea there is incredible - worth a trip to see it!
He moves like water! Nice video Daan!!!!
he really does - thank you Luke!
Very nice pictures well done - thank you🐳
thank you!
Great video
Thanks!
I'm guessing you'd have to be REALLY comfortable having your feet tethered together like that to go down that deep for that long.....respect!
most people find the breath hold the most uncomfortable - those monofins are pretty sweet once you get used to them
⛩️Your pictures are magic🕵️

Muy bonitas monoaletas, en méxico me ha sido imposible conseguir unas
gracias!
how long can u stay under water, its really cool to experience the things normal people cant see.
Such a relaxing film! Excellent work. What camera was used in this video? I saw below you’re rocking a 20mm 1.4 and 14mm 1.8. I’ve got an A7iii and am looking to pick up an underwater housing to begin filming below the surface. Thanks!
shot on an A7R ii - check out Nauticam, they make excellent housings!
Daan Verhoeven thanks! I’ll be sure to check them out. How has autofocus been on the sigma lenses? I’ve also been considering grabbing the Sony 24 1.4 gm for dives
good - been using the metabones adapter and it works. Not as fast as native glass, but i rarely miss out. The 24 could be interesting - maybe a touch narrow? I've shot with a 35 and they are lovely but tricky to shoot with.
Daan Verhoeven interesting to hear, I’ll have to look into the 20mm, it’s much better for the wallet haha. Last question, what’re your go to resolutions and frame rates? Thanks for all of your help!
i like shooting in 4K as it gives me a whole lot of info to play with in case i want to crop. My camera doesn't do massive slomo, so i tend to keep it at 25 or 30 fps
Lugar bonito esse aí.
nice tunes
ОТЛИЧНОЕ ВИДЕО
How beautiful is Dahab ❤️❤️
In which country it is located
!!
Egypt, there are even more exciting places than the lighthouse diving area
I miss dahab
same here
Sooooooo..amazing
thank you!
Фантастика!!!!
круто. А где именно в Дахабе?
Wow. Nice.
Thank you!
Very Impressive!! How deep did you go?
the elephant is at 26 meters, i think
Well that was she said 😉😉😉
huhuhuh
Is that Ambient lights? Amazing!
yes, nothing but natural light and a good lens!
What lens? love your videos man!
Im using a6400 and sigma 16mm f1.4
Would you suggest for me to save up for the sony 10-18mm?
Thanks for replying! 😊
The Sigma 20mm f1.4 and the Sigma 14mm f1.8. And yes, the Sony 10-18 is a very nice, versatile lens which will serve you well underwater.
Алексей супер!
agreed!
i don't know why, but in my head, there is a great white flying by ~.~
oooh that would be cool! I've swam with a tiger shark but not with a great white yet.
Awe inspiring footage as always. Is this your job? Sounds like a dream come true. I’ve been binge watching your vids and you’ve inspired me to create something a bit more artistic than action focused. Trouble is I’ve only got a GoPro, but it’s better than nothing.
glad to read it - you can get really artistic with a gopro, just think of funky angles you can get with such a small and light camera
Good to know, I'll try thinking outside the box with GoPros then. I'll comment on one of your videos again sometime when my arty video is uploaded. Thanks for replying!
We need a mermaid tutorial now!!!
hahaha, from Alexey? Not sure if he would don the shells!
Amazing as always, Daan. How deep was that elephant sculpture? I've seen a few pictures of it on insta recently.
Thank you - it's at 26 meters
Beautiful Video but missleading titel. The title "Deepest man in the World" belongs to Herbert Nitsch
thank you - the first, pinned comment goes into that.
@@DaanVerhoeven Sry, my mistake
Great video Daan!!! I knew that your camera preference was an A7Rii at that date (did it change over time?). What was the camera prefence of Alexey on that dive?
Alexey and i both film with Sony A7R's - i think he has the IV now? I'm still on the II, waiting to buy the IV till i see what they do with the A7S III (and till this virus blows over).
I thought that title belongs to herbert nitsch 😉, breathtaking video by the way.
Herbert is deepest with a sled, Alexey is deepest with a monofin
Amazing sliding and great shape! I know Alexey and he also good teacher) Thank you for video which inspires me! On my channel there are some videos about my freediving also 💙🏊♂️
I'll check it out!
Thanks to the videographer
Look so nice I liked #titosdiving
Thank you!
🧡🙏🙌Beautifull!! I want to do this to !!😍
do it! Take a freediving course!
Nice video sir. Have you ever been to Kas/Turkey?
thank you - not yet! I'd love to, though
What camera did you use to shoot this video ?
Awesome video btw
Thank you! Shot on a sony a7r II, half with a sigma 20mm f1.4 lens, the other half with a sigma 14mm f1.8, in Nauticam housing.
The best ondulations I've ever seen
yes, his technique is superb
Great stuff, what stiffness bifins was he wearing? Cheers .
not sure - let me ask him, i'll get back to you
so he's wearing soft bifins (and the mono is a 1.5 softness). molchanovs.com
Amazing, though why didn't we get from the Divers' perspective while he was filming. Felt like a missing part
Thank you - will keep that in mind
Person: let’s do this together
Me: ok
Also me: 17 second later “asthma pump” 🙄 LOL
How.. I mean HOW is this even possible. Anyhow, once again this was breathtaking, LITERALLY! Lol.
hahaha! Yes, it's kind of incredible what you can do with some training - take a freediving course and find out - might be even mor than 17 seconds!
Daan Verhoeven The funny part of it is that I LOVE diving. But for now I’ll enjoy watching you. Amazing!!!!!
1:22 Looks like he's taking a Jojo pose before doing something sick
