Basically this is Leia's perspective of it all. After she died she became a ghost who was meant to continue to the afterlife, but because Reon was still alive she stayed as she loved him and didnt want to be lonely. She watched Reon fall into despair and madness while painting her portrait and wanted to tell him she was there but he couldnt see or hear her. She wanted him to stop painting her and be happy but in the end Reon killed himself. Once again they were reunited and together they went to the afterlife.
I know Alot of people are saying this is through the perspective of a girl that was close to the artist or his wife or something like that but from analyzing from the lyrics I picked up that this song seems to be from the perspective of the PAINTING. She says things like: "I gave a translucenst smile ", "I would curse reality and wish" "to be held by these arms"
everyone he says he distanced himself from his girlfriend but the way I see it, after she died THAT'S when he painted Leia and ended up falling in love with it and wanted to embrace the delusion or the " lie " because he didn't want to accept that she had died
Especially since there's a lot of scenes in both Leia and Reon that allude to her having been hit by a car-- think of all the streets and random splatters all over the Leia music video and how Reon starts out with her lying on the ground with Reon standing over her while Leia's ghost watches in the background. Honestly just makes the whole thing so much sadder, since this entire thing only happened because he was so caught up in his grief over his lover that he would rather kill himself than accept the fact that he can never see her again.
I'm brazilian, so sorry for my bad english. In my opinion, the story behind Leia and Reon is that, they were a married couple that had a happy life together, but then, Leia suffered from something which lead her to death. The bright days of the couple ended in this moment. Reon was unable to accept the reality. Everyday after the fatality, he attempted to believe that she didn't die. So, as an artist and, to maintain the memory of Leia alive, he painted her face in a canvas (with colorful flowers all around to preserve the feeling of happiness and love). However, the more he saw the image of Leia smiling (probably the smile she showed him, moments before her death), the more he wanted to forgot about the death itself and believe that Leia is still alive. Every day he talked to the canvas and started to lock himself at home so he can spend the entire day with the image of his dead wife. But... After some time living like this, Reon started to notice that all of this was in vain, nothing he could do would bring Leia back to life, the painting was a mere delusion. In an act of despair, Reon asked the painting to smile and pray a little more (and even thought about removing his own eyes so he would not be able to see a world where Leia doesn't exist), his world was finally ending. Then, full of frustration and anger, Reon buried the canvas and committed suicide, since Leia was his reason to continue living. On the other side, Leia wasn't aware that her death would be so premature, caught on surprise, the only thing she could do while lying in the ground (waiting for the final breath) was smile at the worried Reon. Then after her death, she was able to see Reon (just like a ghost) and furthermore, his actions. She was sad and cried because her death destroyed the happy life the two had, the days were changing because nothing would be the same as before. Leia saw Reon deteriorate his mental health state day after day without being able to do anything because they were in different worlds. Reon was ripping his existence apart of the real world in order to fulfill and illusion and Leia only wished that, without forgetting about her, Reon could be able to continue his life normally.
Okaayyy, so, my interpretation: "Leia" is from the guy's point of view and "Reon" is from her point of view. Because in "Leia" the guy wants to escape reality (or you could say he kinda wants to live in the Lie=Leia; because the girl he drew and fell in love with isn't real) and in "Reon" the girl which was drawn by him wants to live in the real world together with him (Reon=Real). Just my thoughts on these two songs :3
Leia or "lie" (Yuppe-sama said so) is the girl in the painting Reon is the reality, the real girl that Leia was modeled after. XxHakuminxX is pretty close to what the story is. But there are many interpretations.
For me, Leia killed herself, he (Reion) makes a dead and serene painting of her. And begins to confuse reality. And there always in the background is her spirit that can not rest. And he feels guilty for her death. For me it is a picture of her dead, because of the flowers.
he drew a painting of his wife and fell in love with it. he forgot about reality and thus the painting became real to him (the girl in his lap). its a painting of the wife(the girl whos always in the background). she was trying desperately to get his attention. once he finally realized that the painting was just a painting, it was to late and his wife passed away(the girl at the end in the flowers). she withered like a flower and died of loneliness.(all the dark colors and flowers symbolizing her loneliness).
Leia is about an artist who painted a picture of a girl, then fell in love with her. The PV and the lyrics suggest the artist, incapable to see it was just a inert picture, ripped his eyes out, preferring the delusion instead the reality. He then burned himself along with the portrait after realizing it couldn't return his feelings. According Yuyoyuppe, Leia comes as pun from 'Lie', making reference to the boy's delusions The song is an answer song to Leia. It is in the point of view of a girl close to the painter (possibly his girlfriend) and her fear of losing him to delusions and his love of the painting, and how much he's distanced himself from her. At the end of the song she decides to stay with him, and hopes that one day he'll return to his normal self and be with her again. The lyrics and PV suggest that she could be the person the painting was based off. The title of the song could form the word "Reality" or "Real" similar to how Leia is comes form the word "Lie"
but looking at the song lyrics, it feels as if it was the paint feelings towards the painter. not a girlfriend D: "Your smiling eyes stared only at me" "I whose blood dont flow, cant draw." "Finish dyeing me vibrantly".
And... I'm truly glad that the "...endless story" is wholly ... ended". And his character have realized that further illusions and "...self-falsehoods were..." there, and he just "cried on days that were ending"... This is a typical story. And I had a similar story too. Including because of that, I had been caught by "Leia". Because of that I sometimes weep listening to this song.
Its just that i get it. From personal experience that sometime we lie to ourselves and create a figure a sanity well. And in this case i belive that this guy was painting to make somthing perfect that he could trust and love. But it ended up being that his mind in with what he was feeding the well got too deep and started to fade at which men or anyone our minds begin to secure our sanity. His sanity at this point was so faded he rather lose sight of the real world. Just to assure the reality that the painting falsely gave him. In my own opinion and understanding from experience. He dinit just fell in love. He basicaly consumed himself in a egar hope that the painting would salvage his hope of perfect love. But in the end he put too much of himself in the painting and made a choice that if he couldent be in unity with the being of a painting he made that he would rather unify im ashes. Thus his death witch im turn left him with just a mind or as some call a soul witch in turn allowed him to live with this girl he created. Moral of the story is in my opinion. Is thatyou can create your own demons or (voids) and if you put too much of yourself in your work you let it become you. You may escape reality mentaly. In witch case the only way to completely leave is to perish with the dream.
Duuuude why is everyone thinking that Leia is a girl from a picture?? U can clearly see in this Vid that there is a dead female body laying on the ground in front of Reon (I guess it's his name). IT is obviously Leia and the girl in white is Leias.. well, soul or anything..
Read some comments, saying leia was about the guy's love for his painting, while reon was about the gf wanting him back to his sense about reality... Boy, this theory made it sound like guy's had a gf, but he chose his waifu instead....
As far as I know, the girlfriend died and the artist made a portrait of her. And he fell in love with the portrait. He forgot the reality. At last, he ripped his eyes and burned the painting along with himself because he understood he couldn't get her wife back and he couldn't be with a painting
So I really don't understand this song, did she died, or he got distant from her for falling in love with the picture?, I didn't got that very well, I thought he fell in love with the painting because he wanted to see her again, but then I read other meanings, and I get a little confuse n.nU
+Mini Hype It's about a painter who was obsessed with a painting of his wife. He became so obsessed that he forgot the existence of his real living wife. Reon is the Wife POV. She tried to have his attention back but later on the song, by the time the painter realizes it's just a painting, the wife dies. Leia is the song about the painting and how the painter got so obsessed of it. Palette is the song of the couple meeting in heaven. Thus the painter died somewhere on those songs. This is what I understand about it so if there's anything missing or weird please don't hate me.
This is just my take on it: In "Leia", a painter paints a picture of a girl who looks similar to his girlfriend, and he becomes distant because he is practically in love with the girl in the painting. He becomes so obsessed with it and so depressed that the girl in the painting cant return his feelings that he takes out his own eyes (probably so he cant look at her), land commits suicide by lighting his house on fire while holding onto the painting. Basically, this song is a prequel to Leia. Its from the girlfriend's point of view and how she saw him, how she felt about him being distant and such.
In translation always something is being lost. To translate a lyric poetry is a thankless thing at all. A single way to attempt to understand the initial meaning is to sufficiently know the original language.

I take this explanation over all the others
@@winteru5892its from the perspective of her looking on him after death. as you can see in the video, her spirit is following him
I think Leia is the perspective of the boy,and Reon is the perspective of Luka.
It is lol
OHHHH sry I didn't know
I read somewhere that this song might be the perspective of someone close to the boy but not Leia/Luka
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure his wife was Leia, as if they were singing about each other.
After all these years and this song still slaps and it slaps hard.

Let's take a fucking minute to listen to the instrumental and appreciate how it has been mixed~
I CANT STOP LISTENING TO THIS
This song is truly magnificent.
This song stays close to my heart
In my opinion, I feel that this is the first song in the story, and Leia is the response; From what I can tell, that makes the most sense.
It's been so long since I've heard this song. It's sad that no one talk about this song:(
Luka does so well with emotionally charged music like this...
Okaayyy, so, my interpretation: "Leia" is from the guy's point of view and "Reon" is from her point of view. I clicked this as soon as I saw it because it was related to Leia. But still I kinda miss Neko & Noir voices... But still its epic!!! Thanks a bunch

Ohh. Thank you,
Yuyoppe makes Luka's voice sound very high. Is it intentional?
Is this from the painting's perspective?
