The 45 acp is my first born. My glock 21 has been on my side since 1996. Now that I'm older, I carry my glock 33 because it is very comfortable to wear as a edc weapon.
that 33 is a winner chicken dinner good ol 357 sig I have the gen 4 glock 31 357 sig love it won't never get I'd of ot either 357 sig is the best of them all imo🔥🔥🔥🔥
Those flowers are BEAUTIFUL!!!! What devastation those rounds cause. I carry a SHIELD 45acp everyday and will ONLY CARRY either of those rounds. They both are tried and true with excellent performance!!! Enough to bring a grown man to his knees!!!!! Great video. Enjoyed it!!!!
Love the HST, but in a shortie I'd go with a lighter bullet. Impressed that the HST 230 expanded at all out of that 3.5 inch, but I wouldn't want to depend on it in all conditions.
That's what I'm talking about!!! Two of the best .45 auto JHP bullets for self defense. The Glock 30 in .45 auto is my edc, so I'm really happy to see your gel tests in this caliber. You're doing a great job on these videos, especially the sectioned gel damage analysis. I look forward to all of your tests coming up👍👍👍
Thank you very much I really do appreciate it!! I agree, these two rounds have been some of the most consistent and reliable that I have tested in .45 so far. The gold dot is definitely a spicy🌶 one for short barrels. Thanks again buddy!! Also great choice on carry😁👍
@@ericvantassell6809 I just upgraded my G30 to .45 super. I installed a KKM 4.7” barrel with a fully supported chamber, along with a Lone Wolf steel guide rod with a 23# recoil spring set. I clocked the Underwood 135 grain copper FTM bullet at 1506 fps for 680 fpe. BIG power in a small package.
@@ericvantassell6809I love the Glock 30 too. Two 2.5's and a Gen 3. I'd not be using +P anything in them though due to the lacking chamber support issue with them. It's the trade off for that supremely awesome feed reliability they demonstrate.
I just bought some GD .45+ 200gr a little before I came here. I like 200gr in .45 (balance of power vs speed.). Looks like 6 one way & 1/2 a dozen the other.
Great stuff. While I prefer 230gr in 45 either HST or GD is my goto. Just standard pressure out of a 5" gives nice results and is pleasant to shoot. A great thing about 45 is that it seems pretty effective even if all you have is a 230gr FMJ. These modern bullets turn it into a monster. That cotton shirt seems particularly relevant in the Summer.
Thanks you sir. The reason I use cotton instead of denim, first just seem more practical. I know it replicates heavy clothing but where I'm at in Az it's always hot. Ppl are usually barley wearing one layer at best. So just seems to be a lil more realistic for my general location. Thanks for checkin this one out!!
That's the thing I love about .45. You have this huge slug going down range and regardless of if it expands or not, it does outstanding damage. My go to when I roll with a .45 is the 230 gr Ranger T. Nice testing, Az.
Thanks as always buddy!! Wish I could find the ranger t in .45 that's the only caliber I don't have it in or tested yet. Couldn't imagine the damage or diameter it would expand too. Thanks again!!
Absolutely love the HST, it’s my 9mm carry round always. Unfortunately in my G5 Glock 21 I get nose up FTF with the HST, about 50% of the time regardless of mag. Thinking of trying the gold dots to see how they do. Thanks for the ballistic gel test, like everyone mentioned not nearly enough .45 content out there.
Love my Kimber sc 1911, was my edc for many years. Very accurate and hit like a truck. I have recently decided to go to 357sig for edc. The reliability is second to none and somthing about having 14 lightning bolts in my hand is amazing.
In all my 1911 .45 ACP carry guns (3", 4.25" and 5") I use the Federal HST. The Gold Dot did very well in this test also. You won't go wrong with either.
Carrying that G21SF every day. Steel night sights, SLR mag basepad for a total of 19+1 shots of 230gr .45 Auto, tlr-1 HL, and a handleit edge grip. She's just fine
Finally some good old fashioned American goodness! I'm so sick and tired of seeing 9mm videos. As a matter of fact I won't even click on or watch anything 9mm I'll watch a 40 video before 9mm
Yeah I’m with you there. I’m sick of all the 9mm content. I’m not saying 9mm is a garbage round. I just prefer a 1 shot stop bigger bore round. The state I live in doesn’t allow high cap mags so I’d rather have 7-12 rounds of .40 .45 .357 sig and 10mm. 9 just doesn’t do it for me.
Dude, you do some of the best ammo gel testing on the net, thx for all your work. When you find the time can you do a gel test on the underwood 45 135 extreme defender vs the underwood 45 acp +p 185gr. These two rounds look freaking awesome. I seen utuber Gun Sam do some testing on that 185 gr. and it blew a hole like 3 x bigger.
Thank you very much I really appreciate that!! I sure can. I have quite a few lined up at the moment but I will definitely get to it for ya. Thanks again buddy!!
As much as I love HST (and I do love HST), I can't help but think that it might get a little bit better performance by knocking the weight down by a bit, to 200gr or even 185gr. I have seen other tests with the 230gr HST fail under the right conditions because it just doesn't have the speed it needs
I'm not a big .45 guy, but that a big hunk of lead coming atcha. I love gold dot projectiles, they work in most anything. HST isn't bad either. Thanks for the review on some big Ole. 45's. I love them all. Good day to you and yours.
the 200gr GD is probably best major mfr round for .45. As of the GS +P 185 being discontinued. the HST at 860?? C'mon Federal wth best ammo testing channel on YT is right here
@@AzAirgunner. seems like a champ on paper. It’s rated for 1335 fps which is about as fast as low end 125gr 357 Sig but it’s 10 grains heavier and has a wider diameter. And with the Xtreme defender projectile it should make for a crazy and deep impact… or not, lol. Damn I just noticed that the same 135gr projectile in 45 Super is moving at 1500 fps. But you have to be careful what you shoot 45 Super out of. especially if you don’t have a fully supported chamber. It most likely won’t make it out of that gel block of yours but should result in the nastiest damage you’ve seen. In my mind anyway. So wish I had the means to do the type of testing you do for us.
Fully supported barrels is only needed when loading hot rounds in standard 45auto cases. 45super factory cases can withstand 45000psi and are only loaded to 28000psi from Underwood and Buffalo Bore. You can put a tighter recoil spring if they scare you.
