Tamiya understands that there are millions of us who were little kids in the 80's who still want R/C to have this exact look and feel. THANK YOU TAMIYA!!!!!!
When I was a kid in ‘86 all I could afford was an original Grasshopper. But I knew ALL the other Tamiya RC models by heart. The other day I bought a Super Hot Shot. Still building it but living out an 80’s dream. (Yeah, I know the Super Hot Shot isn’t an OG but it is what it is.) Loved the video too!
I had the Frog as a teen with the original mechanical speed control. Also had a Hot Shot and am also thinking of buying it again even at age 49! My young daughter will also have fun with it as she likes remote controlled stuff.
Love this, had one in 1985 as a child and still remember burning my fingers on the heat sinks when picking it up at the back, first 4wd car and everyone had one at our club within about a week
I agree, but also the Saint Dragon and the Fox/Novafox are some great looking Cars. Looking forward to my next Project: Restoration of a Fire Dragon and complete my Thundershot.
I found your videos when searching the web for Tamiya Bruiser info. They are amazing, absolutely the best, slomo, nice music and locations. I came back to the hobby after 25 years. These videos bring back all the excitement about the Tamiya models I could not afford back then. I had a Fire Dragon and drove it untill the wheels fell off. Thanks for making these great videos. I think I watched almost all of them by now and will be looking forward for new ones to appear.
You must have a serious problem when you get this aggressive just because of Schutt Rostig's comment- Good grief! Btw, Tamiyablog is an Independent private blog and isn't affiliated with or owned by Tamiya.
Erik Willoch There was zero aggression in my reply, that was only in your perception/imagination. When I posted my original comment I was only wanting to show Matteo some support for his fine work, but I received a sarcastic comment from someone who was not involved, so I replied bluntly but honestly.
The Hotshot was my 2nd rc car upgrading from the hornet in probably 1987 or so...squeezing all the electrics in the chassis was a challenge, I remember there was an awful metal hexagon small screw you connected the bumper to...as soon as you had 1 collision at the buggy club, it would thread the hexagon and scrape the floor! On the plus side, you never needed to buy a 2nd pair of Hotshot tyres!!! Loads of fun!
This video made me buy a hot shot. It was one of those cars that I wanted as a kid. It's so much fun but rekindled my love for Tamiya RC! Thanks a lot!
After watching a bunch of your videos; I'm truly amazed that you have covered pretty much every terrain with your r/c videos. Very versatile, and keeps it very interesting. Let alone your ability to film awesome videos too just adds more to the enjoyment. Thanks for sharing!
The first 20 seconds of this video are AMAZING!!!! When the buggy torques under the power from a standing start ❤️❤️❤️. Can’t beat that. All of your videos are amazing but this is my favourite by far. Thank you Matheo.
Matteo you make rc running videos like a pro, well done. Always good to see my first rc buggy the Hotshot, brings me back to Christmas 1985 hopping my parents did buy it, which they did to my surprise because it was so expensive for them, still have it to this day and many more lol
Hot Shot is legend ! And you made it to be live again as well :-) Pure joy to watch and pretty wild - all these jumps, I've had about the same experience... best regards, D.
I have the volume up full for this video ...great music choice. this kind of terrain is what these cars where designed for it just loves it and to say it's running in the standard can it goes really well and gets loads of air. Great editing especially the slow Mo when it kicks the stones up well done another great production LOVED IT..,.......
very nice buggy !! fun to watch the clear and beautiful slow motions. it's great that you made the scenes of tight angle footages in spite of running very fast!!
( ^ ◡ ^ )...Me too!! I can understand! because, actually I knew your age on UA-cam before.(it was shown on past specification) according to it I am the same age with you! so let's be careful about injuries each other!
Great video, reminded me of the promo i used to watch over and over as a kid in the 80s, finally got myself a Hotshot in 2024 and i love it (was my dream RC car) it is a 2007 ReRe but i have upgraded the bearings and put a Sport tuned motor running a 15t and for me still the best looking Tamiya RC.
Ein traumhaftes Video ist die hier gelungen Matteo! Perfekt gemacht! Der Hotshot scheint ein wirklich sehr gutes Auto zu sein. Daumen hoch & weiter so!👍😃
Wow, they still make this! I had the original from 1988, when I was still in high school Different graphics but exactly the same. I remember having to buy the Full ball bearing set to replace those crappy plastic bushings. 😎👍
Great vid Matteo I believed I asked you to make a video on the hotshot last year! And you did! Again great video keep up the good work...I'm anxious to see what's next
Awesome video!!! One of Tamiya's all-time greats. Got hooked on Tamiya's touring cars in the mid 90's, and picked up the re-re Frog as soon as it was released. I love that car, and will add a re-re Hotshot to the collection in the near future :-)
I had the original Frog back in 1986 but what I hated about it was the mechanical resistor based speed control which was always going bad and rusting from the constant arcing of current between the contact points.
AWESOME!!! Love the hot shot! one of the meanest bad-ass buggies of all time! Those knobby tires where meant to rip up the earth unlike today's modern baloney slicked equipped off road buggies that drive on practically cement with jumps!
Yep packed clay like cement what the new buggies race on these days ...give me good old fashion 80's real dirt track RC racing that's when it was real dirt off road!
I still own this little buggy in almost perfect condition! Can't believe I hadn't goolged it before. My father and I built it together but I hardly ever used it because it would take off by itself after a minute of two using it so I just stored it and I'm glad to see it here again. Gonna try to see if I can fix it now and actually enjoy it now that I'm old hehe.
Absolutely! I had the original Frog back in 1986 and the thing literally hopped around like one with its independent suspension. Would drive it off plywood ramps and watch it fly and land on all 4 tires like a cat!
What a great video, such great light and action. I had one as a kid, but bought it 2nd hand and it was a complete mess. Was never able to get it setup quite right. They always looked great on the track though, so planted. I think it's because they were quite wide and low, shocks were quite soft as well from what I recall. I want another to do it properly this time. Thanks for the vid.
They were great on the track and easily kept up with the Hirobo Zerda and MUGEN Bulldog the time I saw it. The Hotshot had just been released and it was expensive (they all were) and the first time I saw it at Yennora Hobbies my jaw dropped! I liked the other cars but thought The Hotshot was something else.
Yes this is another comment about your excellent video. Great editing, awesome action shots and your music choice is not too bad also. The music is not overbearing and its kinda background enough not to be annoying especially for almost 6 minutes. My best compliment to you is that I'm about to go out and buy one now.
Hi Matteo! I like all your driving video's, I made some videos myself but they don't come near to the quality you bring! Anyhow, this vid made me add a Tamiya Hotshot to my collection, just ordered one & already looking forward to the assembly! Keep up the good work!
Mate your filming , editing and choice of music for this film is absolutely fantastic, I agree with a previous post about seeing a behind the scenes video ( I'm writing before i've looked to see if there is one ) .
Thanks for your nice feedback Joseph! Glad you like the video so much! No, unfortunately no behind the scenes video but it's not a big secret. I have the camera (GoPro) on a stick and running on the side of the car...
This is really my dream RC! 1st time i see your video thumbnails, still can't believe it's all an RC. And you had a good taste on music and video, i really enjoyed it :)
matteo did it again! hotshot, one of my favourit!! THE classic 4WD buggy! why so late? ;-) thank you for this great video! i love the hotshots unique suspension!!
I remember being 12 and wanting one but could not afford a Hot Shot or Boomerang so I got a Thundershot, but seeing this again makes me thin about spending 250 euro for a re-release one, great stuff. For me this is the best looking one.
Sometimes it feels like you are my RC dealer, I hold you responsible for my addiction. :-) Your videos inspire me to get the same vehicles and go out and have fun.
I know a lot of people mainly look at it for the nostalgia. But I think Tamiya did a pretty good job for its first 4WD buggy. Not perfect, but not at all bad.

Thanks for your nice feedback!
Agree
And probably many who are 12-13 yo now who want this kind of car.
The single video that got me back into RC after 30+ years. I ordered the Hot Shot kit while watching this. Amazing footage.
Great to hear! 👍 Have fun with your Hotshot! 😊😊
People say don't try to relive your past because you will be disapointed, buy a HotShot and prove them wrong.
I built the re release kit some ten years ago with full bearings and castle DTX esc motor combo and it’s seriously really good off-road.
Too bad he does not make rc videos anymore. He is one of the best to do it - filming rc cars. Always such a treat to watch.
Thanks! Best times ever, back in the 80es! 👍👍😊
I had the Frog as a teen with the original mechanical speed control. Also had a Hot Shot and am also thinking of buying it again even at age 49! My young daughter will also have fun with it as she likes remote controlled stuff.
That mountainous background and clear blue sky with the track make me feel like I’m 11 yo standing at the hobby shop counter.
Love this, had one in 1985 as a child and still remember burning my fingers on the heat sinks when picking it up at the back, first 4wd car and everyone had one at our club within about a week
Thanks! Yes, good times back then! 👍👍😊
I've been in RC for over 30 years and in my opinion, this is probably the best looking RC car of all time. This, followed by the Tamiya Clodbuster.
Thanks for your feedback! Yes, the Hotshot is a aggressive looking beauty!
I agree, but also the Saint Dragon and the Fox/Novafox are some great looking Cars. Looking forward to my next Project: Restoration of a Fire Dragon and complete my Thundershot.
jdmikeg4 Supershot!!
Avante for me
I found your videos when searching the web for Tamiya Bruiser info. They are amazing, absolutely the best, slomo, nice music and locations. I came back to the hobby after 25 years. Thank you so much Erik! Your splendid comment makes me very happy! This Tamiya re-releases of the old cars, we could not afford, brings me back also!
If I was Tamiya I would pay you to make the promotional videos.
and for example link his videos in the tamiya company blog.... oh wait they already do that
Nice to hear this! Thanks for your great compliment!
Tamiya does actually have one of Matteo's videos on their MF-01X product page.
Love it, I bought myself a HotShot Re-release a few year back and it still going strong despite its hard life!
Love watching the car from every angle, in slightly slo-mo like this. Hotshot is one of the best looking!
Thanks for your nice comment!
Agreed that crazy suspension gives it such a lovely low profile - it’s ace
The Hotshot was my 2nd rc car upgrading from the hornet in probably 1987 or so...squeezing all the electrics in the chassis was a challenge, I remember there was an awful metal hexagon small screw you connected the bumper to...as soon as you had 1 collision at the buggy club, it would thread the hexagon and scrape the floor!

Loads of fun!
Yes, thanks! 😊😊👍
Thanks a lot for your superb feedback! I really appreciate it and it's a good reward for all the work. 😊
The first 20 seconds of this video are AMAZING!!!! When the buggy torques under the power from a standing start ❤️❤️❤️. Can’t beat that. All of your videos are amazing but this is my favourite by far. Thank you Matheo.
Thanks for your awesome feedback! Glad you liked it! 👍👍😊
One of the best vids ever about RC cars. Very nice and you can see all the action with all the suspension parts doing their job.
Thank you so much for your awesome feedback! 🙏😊
Matteo's RC Movies Yeah, why Tamiya hasn’t hired you is beyond me..it truly is. You have great videos! Thankyou for sharing🤩👍
Not only are you taking me back to my childhood, you are filming these things in a beautiful way. GREAT work ;)
Nice to hear this! Thanks a lot!
You sir are the best Tamiya channel on youtube! Hotshot was my 3rd Tamiya and my first proper racing car. Cheers!
Thank you! I'm very pleased to hear this! 🙏😊
Matteo you make rc running videos like a pro, well done. Always good to see my first rc buggy the Hotshot, brings me back to Christmas 1985 hopping my parents did buy it, which they did to my surprise because it was so expensive for them, still have it to this day and many more lol
Thanks so much for your nice feedback! I really appreciate it! 🙏
You’ve done at least 3 cars I had as a child. Amazing!
Nice memories, right? 😊 Thanks for your feedback! 👍
You always have such fun little adventures full of life! Sweet little buggy! Thumbs up from all of us! ;-)
Thanks so much Jason! Wish you a nice sunday!
Endlich der Hot Shot! Das Warten auf dieses Video hat sich mehr als gelohnt! Danke für diese perfekten Bilder und weiter so!

Man..your channel rocks with cool nostalgia! Love your videos, your video songs and the whole thing! Keep it up 👍🏼
Thank you so much for your nice feedback! I really appreciate it! 🙏😊
Hot Shot is legend ! And you made it to be live again as well :-) Pure joy to watch and pretty wild - all these jumps, I've had about the same experience... best regards, D.
Thanks Daniel! Your Hotshot vid was a great inspiration for me!
:-) thanks!
I have the volume up full for this video ...great music choice.
this kind of terrain is what these cars where designed for it just loves it and to say
it's running in the standard can it goes really well and gets loads of air. Great editing especially the slow Mo when it kicks the stones up
well done another great production
LOVED IT..,.......
Thanks so much for your nice feedback! Yes, I think the standard motor does a good job in this machine!
very nice buggy !! fun to watch the clear and beautiful slow motions.
it's great that you made the scenes of tight angle footages in spite of running very fast!!
Thanks! Yes, it was hard for me as a old man to run this speed with the camera and rc,controler!
( ^ ◡ ^ )...Me too!! I can understand! because,
actually I knew your age on UA-cam before.(it was shown on past specification)
according to it I am the same age with you!
so let's be careful about injuries each other!
BuoyEngine Yes, this is cool! But, a bit of work out is good for our health! And in combination with RC cars its even better!
The Hotshot is Tamiya's muscle car by far! Thanks for another fantastic video!
Thanks for your nice feedback! Sounds good Tamiya's muscle car!
Such a great little buggy! Love that its got all 4 wheels powered! Great video as always! ;)
Thanks Terry! Yes, the 4wd it's very helpful in the sand!
Ein traumhaftes Video ist die hier gelungen Matteo! Perfekt gemacht!
Der Hotshot scheint ein wirklich sehr gutes Auto zu sein.
Daumen hoch & weiter so!👍😃
The Hotshot was my first RC kit and I still have it today . Great video.
Thank you! Yes it's a legend!
Wow, they still make this!
I had the original from 1988, when I was still in high school
Different graphics but exactly the same.
I remember having to buy the Full ball bearing set to replace those crappy plastic bushings.
😎👍
I remember not being able to afford the ball bearing kit and raced on the plastic bushings. Always came last lol.
Finally hotshot! What an awesome video!
Better late than never! Thanks!
Haha, you're welcome!
This is a really, really well made video. Well done!
Thanks Chris! 👍😊

Thanks for your nice feedback Andreas!
Great vid Matteo I believed I asked you to make a video on the hotshot last year! And you did! Again great video keep up the good work...I'm anxious to see what's next
Yes, you recommend it to me, and I made it! It took a bit time but it was really worth to do it! I love the Hotshot! Thanks again!
Awesome shots!
Had 1 as a.kid.... and i regret painting it black. The factory red is just perfect.
Awesome video
Thank you! 👍😊
Great video, i really like the look of that classic buggy.
Thanks! Me too, I love the classics!
This was my first 4WD. Loved it as a kid. This video makes me want to go hit the dirt again.
Great! Enjoy it! 👍😊
this is one of the best RC videos i have seen great cinematography
Thanks a lot! Glad to hear this! 👍😊
Awesome video!!! One of Tamiya's all-time greats. Got hooked on Tamiya's touring cars in the mid 90's, and picked up the re-re Frog as soon as it was released. I love that car, and will add a re-re Hotshot to the collection in the near future :-)
Thanks for your nice feedback! I see, you are a Tamiya fan too!
I had the original Frog back in 1986 but what I hated about it was the mechanical resistor based speed control which was always going bad and rusting from the constant arcing of current between the contact points.
Really great action , very good filmed !! Excellent video !!
Merci beaucoup!
Great stuff, love the Hotshot, looks epic in slow motion, cheers.
Thanks alot! I am pleased!
Ein Klassiker genial in Bildern festgehalten... :D Absolut spektakuläre Sprünge und tolle Aufnahmen! :)
Vielen Dank für dein Lob! Freut mich!
AWESOME!!! Love the hot shot! one of the meanest bad-ass buggies of all time!
Those knobby tires where meant to rip up the earth unlike today's modern baloney slicked equipped off road buggies that drive on practically cement with jumps!
Thanks to you! Yes, this is pure off roading! Not indoor in a hall on carpet!
Yep packed clay like cement what the new buggies race on these days ...give me good old fashion 80's real dirt track RC racing that's when it was real dirt off road!
Very awesome and slick video! Makes me wanna buy an R/C now again after 25+ yrs!! Subbed from Calgary, Canada! 👍
Thank you! Yes, brings back good memories...
After your great video I decided to get an HOTSHOT! Nice 80's look... Great Tamiya...
That's great! I'm sure you'll love it! Thanks for your nice feedback! 😊
So nice filmed! Good driving and editing!
Thank you! 😊
wow, super impressed with the video footage and shots!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! 😊
Thanks! I'm sure you can enjoy it now! And get spare parts if something happen! 👍
A good example of why independent rear suspension is so good on off-road buggies ... nice video 👍
Thanks! Glad you liked it! 😊
Absolutely! I had the original Frog back in 1986 and the thing literally hopped around like one with its independent suspension. Would drive it off plywood ramps and watch it fly and land on all 4 tires like a cat!
Great video, awesome location to drive the hotshot around.
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Tamiyas best design ever! THE car looks great in any angle 😊💕
Yes a true legend! 👍😊
And again Matteo with the best Tamiya videos on the internet!
Thanks! I really appreciate your awesome feedback!
back to the 80s :) coole Jumps, tolles Video!
Genau! Die Zeit wo wir noch jung wahren! Danke Fabian!
Thanks Jonathan for your nice feedback! Good we get a second chance by the re-releases! 👍😊
Superschöne Location! Und die Berge im Hintergrund machen es perfekt!
Vielen Dank! Freut mich wenns gefällt!
The camera work on these videos is just fantastic -
Thanks! Glad you liked it! 🙏🙏
Tamyia’s first 4wd serious performance buggy ever. Nice video that fits it completely.👍🏁
Thanks 👍
Another awesome video, Matteo! You're influencing my purchasing decisions heavily here... Lol!
This is good! Thanks Fil!
Yes this is another comment about your excellent video. Great editing, awesome action shots and your music choice is not too bad also. The music is not overbearing and its kinda background enough not to be annoying especially for almost 6 minutes. My best compliment to you is that I'm about to go out and buy one now.
Thanks so much for your awesome feedback! I really appreciate your good words! 🙏🙏🙏😊
Matteo does it again..Great Video my friend
ps. I all ways enjoy your video and your tutorials..Keep up the good work.
I am very pleased to hear this! Thank you so much!

Hi Matteo! I like all your driving video's, I made some videos myself but they don't come near to the quality you bring!
Anyhow, this vid made me add a Tamiya Hotshot to my collection, just ordered one & already looking forward to the assembly! Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Glad you like my videos! Have fun with your Hotshot! 👍😊
Super action...! Eine grosse freude um zu sehen... :)
Vielen Dank, freut mich von dir zu hören! Dank je wel!
Love the video. I still have my Hotshot in the garage somewhere. LOL.
That's nice! Thank you! 👍😊😊
Sigh with there were still great buggies like this great filming!
Thanks! 👍
So muss das aussehen! Sehr geil! Wie immer :) Mach weiter so!
Und so sieht ein perfekter Kommentar aus! Vielen Dank!
Excellent video!! I really enjoy this one!!!
Thanks again!
Stunning footage!
Thank you!
This is really my dream RC! 1st time i see your video thumbnails, still can't believe it's all an RC. And you had a good taste on music and video, i really enjoyed it :)

Great video. I love the Hotshot.
Thanks! 👍
I remember being 12 and wanting one but could not afford a Hot Shot or Boomerang so I got a Thundershot, but seeing this again makes me thin about spending 250 euro for a re-release one, great stuff. For me this is the best looking one.
Thank you! Yes, it's nice to get a second chance to grab one! 😊👍
This is almost as good as the original promo vid but yours is a lot lot clearer. Nice!
Glad you think so! Thanks Joe! 🙏😊
Great video of a truly revolutionary RC model car. The Hot Shot is a beauty, but The Boomerang is amazing looking model imho.
Thanks Byron! Yes, Boomerang is nice too, featuring one of the next videos coming from me!
great video! Love that car
Thanks!
Cool hot shot & best camera angle
Thank you Okky! 👍😊
Sometimes it feels like you are my RC dealer, I hold you responsible for my addiction. :-) Your videos inspire me to get the same vehicles and go out and have fun.
Nice to hear this Julian! I am glad you have fun with these toys! Thanks for your good feedback!
Tamiya's coolest buggy, after the Fast Attack Vehicle of course! Haha! Sweet video as always.
Thanks! Tamiya produced a lot of cool stuff over the years!
Lieber Matteo, als ich vor ein paar Monaten auf deinen Kanal gestoßen bin, hat mich unter anderem dieses Video absolut begeistert. Hier passt alles! I really miss this buggy.....It was my very first RC Car back in 1985.
Wish I still had it -- :(
Fortunately you can get a re-release!
And vintage too!!
Awesome video Matteo. 👍😀✌️️
Thank you Tybo!
Wie immer absolut cooles Video. Es ist mir ein Rätsel wie Du das machst......smile
Vielen Dank! Keine grosse Sache, Kamera am Stecken und hinterher rennen!
Great vid. I have two originals. Mk1' s even. And a Hotshot 2. The 2 is my best handling buggy. It's amazing.
Thanks! Nice to have original ones! 👍👍
Wirklich sehr Klasse in Scene gesetzt der Hammer!
Vielen Dank, freu mich immer wider über solch schöne Kommentare!
Allways Nice to watch in slowmotion, good susspension work
Thanks!
I know a lot of people mainly look at it for the nostalgia. But I think Tamiya did a pretty good job for its first 4WD buggy. Not perfect, but not at all bad.
Yes, I agree...
Instant subscriber.. what a brilliant vid👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much Wayne! 😊👍
mann Matteo...Du hast schon echt die Tamiya Klassiker am Start ;-) Sehr schöne Slowmotions, echt geillllll
Vielen Dank Robert!
