Love Bekka Bramlett singing her heart out, and really stepping up to the plate! Never thought it could be possible to replace Stevie Nicks once she stepped aside, but Bekka is perfect! Wow. What a singer!
Nobody can replace Stevie, but it's not really about replacing. Fleetwood Mac survived through many lineup changes, and this was simply one of them. While the sound is different, it isn't bad. Bekka Bramlett and Dave Mason sound great together in this incarnation of FM.
This shows the perseverance of Mick to maintain the Fleetwood Mac brand in their ever changing configuration at a very vulnerable time in their history. Look at this in retrospect. When Peter Green left the band, the genera thought was that the band was dead. But they soldiered as key players dropped out, and other came and went. But the band always reinvented itself. It may be shocking to see Bekka, Billy and Dave singing The Chain. But that's no more shocking than seeing Lindsey and Stevie singing the Green Manalishi, Oh Well, or Hypnotized. It's just a new set of players carrying on the legacy, as well as creating a new one. This era/Time of the band was a necessary phase- to keep the pulse of Fleetwood Max -- a vital link in the chain that lead to Christine's, Lindsey's and Stevie's eventual return to the band. The Rumours era band is the group's most prominent and commercially successful configuration But don't forget Fleetwood Mac is much more than that. It has a prior, vast and rich body of work from the Peter Green era, and the transitional era from 1970 to 1974. That's what makes this band so unique. Mick is the Fleetwood and John is the Mac. Everything in between is Fleetwood Mac in name.
People who make stupid statements about FM should do a little research first. The band is always moving forward never back word and that means changing members . These were only a few of the people who have come and gone from FM and I enjoy the work they did . It is a odd bunch but the band kept playing and are still changing people to keep it going because they love to play.
..I liked this lineup, but at this point in 2021 they shouldn't bother doing it without LB, I'd rather see LB,Chris John and Mick and boot Stevie and bring Bekka in.
Didn't realize until today that Dave Mason played with FM for a while. He sings and plays great here! How can anyone call this a cover band when he's in it, not to mention Mick Fleetwood and John McVie?
Fleetwood Mac existed before Buckingham Nicks, people saying this isn't Mac are just wrong. So is the lineup with Danny Kirwan & Bob Welch not Mac then?
Its not fair to Stevie Nicks OR Bekka Bramlett to compare them, its the apples and oranges thing, Stevie of course we all know is great ,but I stay in Nashville a lot and go every chance I get to 3rd and Lindsley to catch Beka and sometimes her mother Bonnie perform, both are great singers. Bekka is the daughter of rock royalty per Delaney and Bonnie and friends, ,,,,google it, the FRIENDS were, Eric Clapton, Graham Parsons, George Harrison to name a very few. Fleetwood Mac transcended over the years, Dave Mason and Bekka just happened to be as lucky to play with them through the "trial and transition" years, at that time it might have been the sound that Mick and John wanted.
Well said. Bekka doesn't get her due because people just saw her as a Stevie replacement and not an individual who brought her own style to the band. People knock the "Time" era, but I actually liked it. I say this as a huge fan of Stevie and Lindsey. IMO as long as Mick and John are there, it is still Fleetwood Mac. One thing I love about the band is how Mick and John have been the backbone of FM. They are why FM has such a rich and deep history because they never gave up on the band.
Not fair to compare? Maybe. But Bekka is so vocally versatile, I could listen to her all day. And her folks taught her the most important thing of all - humility!
I loved this group, but so many changes! The Chain" is one of only a few Fleetwood Mac songs whose authorship is credited to all members of the band at the time. The finished song itself has a basic rock structure, although it has two distinct portions: the main verse and chorus, and the outro. The song shows influences of hard rock, folk, and country.
Listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies And if, you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) And if you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) Listen to the wind blow, down comes the night Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies Break the silence, damn the dark, damn the light And if you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) And if you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) And if you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Writer/s: Christine McVie, John Mc Vie, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Stephanie Nicks
I think Bekka Bramlett is a great front person for Fleetwood Mac! If they had reached back into their blues roots and recorded an album that utilized her BLUESY POWERHOUSE vocals they would have had a lead singer akin to Janice Joplin in her heyday! Cause Bekka can sure BELT IT OUT!!!! Peace Ricky Parker 😎😎😎😎
Dave Mason was a great pairing with Bekka = I think this was a nice lift getting back into some of the original MAC Br. Blues band sound - certainly John McVey, Mick & Dave Mason all have their roots there.
I saw them on the tour for this album. It was FM, Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon. People were complaining there was no Stevie, Lindsey or Christine. Me? I was jazzed that Dave Mason was in the band. I've always been a fan of any version of FM that DOESN'T have Stevie or Lindsey.
@@edwardwilliams6514 thanks I'll search it out on my vinyl hunts. I usually stay away from FM after the '70s run. Had no idea one of my favorite guitarists/ songwriters played with the Mac. And hoa boy Bekka...she looks and belts it out just like her mom
Only thing is Bekka Bramlett and Dave Mason DID NOT get along!!!! Mick Fleetwood said so in an interview. Bekka Bramlett and Billy Burnett left the group and did an album together Bekka and Billy which was moderately successful in Nashville as it had country themed flavored songs.
Tienes el DVD con este concierto? Porque lo estoy buscando y no puedo encontrarlo por ningun lado. Y en la página oficial de Fleetwood Mac parece que quisieran borrar todo rastro de esta etapa de Fleetwood Mac...
Fine musicians... but what an ill-fated attempt at rebuilding the Mac ! "Time" had its moments as an album, but it's just odd to watch a version of Fleetwood Mac without Christine, Stevie and Lindsey.
I have mix feelings about this bekka is good but she will never replace Stevie. But what happened to bekka. Why did she leave after one album and tour.
I agree the attempt was ill-fated, but the music in this incarnation feels richer, more bluesy than the Buckingham/Nicks sound. It does seem odd to watch, it is true, but very, very good and like you say, fine musicians.
exacto, se ha comunicado por correo el que ha marcado con pulgar abajo, se trata de un colectivo forofo de S. Nicks, bastante intolerantes por cierto, gente del pop más bién....imposible que a un rockero no le guste esto, repito IMPOSIBLE

Fleetwood Mac existed quite well without Buckingham Nicks before 1975 as well. This line up was just another link in the Chain
Bekka is one of my favorite singers but this is horrible. Not her fault - this is on Mick. Without Lindsey or Stevie, the Chain is just ridiculous. Ugh

this not FWM no never please iv been a fwm fan from tango till now this line up is ,to me a tribute band sorry but mick please break the chain on this train reak time ye thank fuck coz in time the mac are back ..
Bekka Bramlett has been soaking up the Southern Rock - Southern Soul singing since birth but why does that qualify her to replace Stevie Nicks? And Dave Mason? I was a big fan of his stuff since the late '60s but how did he become part of Fleetwood Mac? He must have been buddies with Mick Fleetwood and they decided it would be a good Idea to just replace Nicks and Buckingham and carry on. Not.
Fair enough, but you need to consider that Fleetwood Mac was founded by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood, and Stevie Nicks had nothing to do with band for it's first 8 years. Also, sadly Stevie was for a period too drugged out to do the job.
And that was the only reason she agreed to come back was for Mick to release Silver Springs, let her sing it, and give her the rights to the song...as by 1997 Mick was pretty desperate at that point.
This is the 2nd song I heard Bekka sing with them & she over sang again. She obviously has chops, but she starts to strong & ad libs too much. Ya can't sing like a lead when your on harmony, especially outta the gates. So far it seems she's not a good fit.
One thing is for sure, you don't want her sounding like either one of them! Bekka bought her own voice and game. Very strong and beautiful!
Can you imagine having to follow in the footsteps of Christine and Stevie!. Wow but awesome!
Love Bekka Bramlett singing her heart out, and really stepping up to the plate! Never thought it could be possible to replace Stevie Nicks once she stepped aside, but Bekka is perfect! Wow. What a singer!
bekka was hired to do a job when miss Stevie was on a different mission...and I must say bekka has a great voice and certainly can deliver the goods!
Bekka is an awesome singer. But I still prefer Stevie's version of The Chain
Bekka is an amazing musician and a beautiful person inside and out
They should have told Stevie off. When she said "Its me or LB" they should have said, we tried that, lets try it without YOU now.
There great but I got so used to Stivie
Bekka Bramlett does a phenomenal job here. Makes me listen to FM for the very first time in years!
Nobody can replace Stevie, but it's not really about replacing. Fleetwood Mac survived through many lineup changes, and this was simply one of them. While the sound is different, it isn't bad. Bekka Bramlett and Dave Mason sound great together in this incarnation of FM.

have always enjoyed Mick's facial antics.

Absolutely- well said, and Fleetwood as always- great on percussions.
amen to that! Mick and john had to keep working as well...and did what they had to do at the time!
Bekka Bramlett didn't fit with Fleetwood Mac at all. This was a dark time for FM.
Dave Mason is good though. He can fit in with anybody.
People who make stupid statements about FM should do a little research first. The band is always moving forward never back word and that means changing members . Well they are both so pretty and have awesome soulful voices
Put Delaney & Bonnie in the Hall of Fame. Now.
l'm not familiar with Dave Mason, but really love his voice/singing. Very easy listening.
I loved this group, but so many changes!

Dave Mason was from Traffic and has many great solo albums check him out
"Alone Together" is his best album.
I use to know an Ally May
Known most for We Just Disagree. With a little luck could’ve been in the Stephen Stills or Eric Clapton stratosphere.
Absolut genial
My favorite Fleetwood Mac song.
BEKKA IS AMAZING !!!!!
I agree, superb singer
Its great, I love the Time album too,,, Fleetwood Mac is Mick n John,
Just like Steely Dan is Donald Fagen and Walter Becker

Sounds pretty good
It's just not the "Chain" without Stevie and Lindsey glaring at each other, they make the song and the band for me!
It’s not is it, I find this just plain weird to be honest 🤣 Bekka has a great voice though.
I feel very emotional watching this because Stevie Nicks is not in this and no one can ever replace her.
I would suggest watching the The Chain Live from the Mirage tour. It’s the best live version out there.
Wow, this one so awesome...brought me chills
This was the best Fleetwood Mac cover band ever.
Funny...
With Mick and John it's not a cover band.
Bekka ia great voice

I was bummed no Chris as she was on the LP, and has been on every single lp (minus the 68 self titled) in some form.
What Album?
@@Malibu1515 It’s called “Time”

Remember whose name is the first one in the band. It's Mick Fleetwood's band.
magnifique mon ami merci pour ce video

Ive always enjoyed Fleetwood Mac. And even though they do sound different, I like this version too. Im happy Mick DID keep the band going. :)
Yeah. Absolutely. Can you ever imagine a world without Fleetwood Mac? I can't, just can't. Thank god Mick managed to keep the band alive
Bekka sounds just like her momma

This band is more like Mick Fleetwoods Zoo band at this time
I remember
Bought "Time" cd....i threw it out in garbage
Bekka Bramlett is an amazing vocalist. But this, in my opinion, is the worst "Chain" I have ever seen.
The Chain....
"THE CHAIN" by Fleetwood Mac
Great Version
Classic British/American Rock group

Wow - first time I ever saw this version of FM - total fail.
Quizás la más triste line-up desde Peter Green... Aunque quizás me equivoqué y la más triste sea la actual...
Dollar store version?

I always will love FM regardless, would not mind if this lineup lasted just a little bit longer
I mean this sounds great, but I'm sorry. Not FM.
It is FM - in one of their least successful incarnations. FM in name only I suppose.
