She was one year older than my Mother and they were both gone so young. I was around when Patsy sang this thank you. I loved anything she sang. I also loved music back past my Nana’s time and I passed that love onto my youngest daughter. She was adopted and the only one in our family who was musically gifted, she sang this song on stage. She was fully grown at 9 and she won her first adult lead in a stage musical at 9. She didn’t tell us she was auditioning until she won it. She had 3 call backs because of her age but no one could sing it better or act it better and she looked 22. She did turn 10 before it opened and she came home from rehearsals saying, it is so uncool to sing I love you to an American man. Like we made her do it. We didn’t even know how gifted she was until then. We just thought she was cute.

Patsy had such a possible high and sustained ceiling in country music only to have it dashed in an instant along with Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins. I always think it is important to acknowledge them as well - just two entertainers also trying to make their own way. When young LeAnn Rimes came along, she was thought to be much like Patsy due to her vocal qualities. I would encourage you to react to a video where the ACA in 2013 paid tribute to Patsy, on the 50th anniversary of her death, by Leann singing a medley of her hits. I grew up in the 70's- 80's but I was exposed to different types of music. Patsy Cline was a great singing talent. At a young age , I listened to her entire album. I knew who Willie Nelson was because my parents watched the performances on TV. I was lucky to know about so many different types of music, especially eras decades before I was born.
Patsy was my Mom's favorite female singer even after she passed. My Mom was manager of the Olde Top Rail in Irving until she was killed in 1970. Leann Rhimes did a wonderful cover for this song at 12 years old asa tribute to Patsy. Leann and my Goddaughter were classmates in Grade School and I got to see her at a talent show. ❤✌️🇺🇲🙏RIP PATSY
This brings back some old memories. I was just a kid back then but heard this song and watched older people slow dancing to it. When I heard that you will be listening to Angelina Jordan singing this song, my ears perked up. she was perfect when she sang it. It stunned me when a young teenager nailed that song. I also loved music back past my Nana’s time and I passed that love onto my youngest daughter. She was adopted and the only one in our family who was musically gifted, she sang this song on stage. She was fully grown at 9 and she won her first adult lead in a stage musical at 9. She didn’t tell us she was auditioning until she won it. She had 3 call backs because of her age but no one could sing it better or act it better and she looked 22. She did turn 10 before it opened and she came home from rehearsals saying, it is so uncool to sing I love you to an American man. Like we made her do it. We didn’t even know how gifted she was until then. We just thought she was cute.

I believe this was filmed soon after the car accident where she sustained facial injuries. Fun fact, she did not want to record her first hit, Walking After Midnight, to her it sounded like a street waler. She was the first country singer to perform with an orchestra, in Sweet Dreams.

Patsy had such a possible high and sustained ceiling in country music only to have it dashed in an instant along with Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins. I always think it is important to acknowledge them as well - just two entertainers also trying to make their own way. When young LeAnn Rimes came along, she was thought to be much like Patsy due to her vocal qualities. I would encourage you to react to a video where the ACA in 2013 paid tribute to Patsy, on the 50th anniversary of her death, by Leann singing a medley of her hits. You kind of get a "two-fer" of LeAnn and Patsy's music. Plus Leann sounds so very much like her. Thanks Guys, as always - Cheers!

I grew up in the 70's- 80's but I was exposed to different types of music. Patsy Cline was a great singing talent. At a young age , I listened to her entire album. I knew who Willie Nelson was because my parents watched the performances on TV. I was lucky to know about so many different types of music, especially eras decades before I was born.

Willie nelson is a music icon. He is currently on a 25 city tour at the age of 90. And he still sounds great.

Patsy was my Mom's favorite female singer even after she passed. My Mom was manager of the Olde Top Rail in Irving until she was killed in 1970. Leann Rhimes did a wonderful cover for this song at 12 years old asa tribute to Patsy. Leann and my Goddaughter were classmates in Grade School and I got to see her at a talent show.

This brings back some old memories. I was just a kid back then but heard this song and watched older people slow dancing to it. When I heard that you will be listening to Angelina Jordan singing this song, my ears perked up. she was perfect when she sang it. It stunned me when a young teenager nailed that song. When you realize that Angelina is not a native English speaker, it is stunning. Keeping these great songs alive is almost intoxicating. I mean that in a good way.
W[ll[e was so broke when he wrote Crazy that sold it for a 100.00 dollars. Walyon Jennings was the one with Buddy Holly. He played in his band. The guilt of the fact that he surviived and they died haunted him all his life.

Patsy was from Virginia. She started out singing on WRC Channel 4 in Washington DC. Jimmy Dean. Roy Clark and Jim Henson and his original puppets also were on shows at Channel 4 at that time.

My dad loves this song. He has another fave song (his all-time favorite song)… Can you pls react to Dusty Springfield’s “Yesterday When I Was Young”? Roy Clark popularized this French song written by Charles Aznavour & Georges Garvarentz and several artists covered it but my dad I love Dusty’s version the most. She was a music icon who’s life ended too soon.
For Willie, I'd start with Blue Eyes Cryin' In The Rain, or Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground. He was born in Abbott, Tx, just about 20 miles up the road from my hometown. Willie is a force of nature.
Willy also introduced Dolly Parton to the Grand Old Opry when she was just 13 years old I believe.
