I found a newspaper item about Ashok and Ashok. Took the clipping and visited it late afternoon in 2006. Lunch time was over. But the owner graciously served us a part of his lunch FREE! The meat is delicious , small 3 inch rotis are free.
The AA story is amazing.
Two men, jija sala, used to make meat for dinner for themselves. People liked their cooking and encouraged them to start their food biz.
It is a tiny restro but terrific crowd. In 2006 it was about Rs 80 per meal... only chicken and mutton. The dry fruits make it a very rich and royal feast.
Later I saw a copycat restro in my East Patel Nagar. I believe AA have one branch now. This would surely become a franchise. Good food lives here.
Now I live in Philippines and miss places like ASHOK AND ASHOK!
