Awesome field prep Nelson. You had a good opportunity to seed that day. Our grass seed is broadcast here and then we harrow it. We were on the road during your livestream but managed to catch most of it.
The drone footage really doesn’t hide much and we have really come to appreciate how the view from above tells the story of the land.
    Great stuff.

I was blessed that day to get it sewn before the rains!! I wondered about that, but they say so much not to get it in more than 1/4-1/2" . If this floos, I'm gonna take all the pressure off my drill and try again!! Hoping with the rains, and the cultipacker, that it works out!! Non worries, thank you both for that! Hope the trip went well!! Some family members really enjoy the look of their homeplace, so I enjoy flying the drone!! Thank you both for all the support, and encouragement. After watching this video I'm a bit jealous. It's been a few years since we have had 2 tractors running in the same field. We got just a little over 4 inches of rain from the hurricane here in West Tennessee. Orchard grass likes soil pH levels between 5.5 and 6.5. And after it gets established it requires at least 120 lbs of nitrogen per acre in the fall each year. That may sound like a lot but I promise you it will be well worth it. Orchard grass makes great hay IMO. As always, I'm looking forward to your next video.

I have been waiting for the chance to run them both, and my buddy was willing g to help that day!! It sure was neat and sped things up quite a bit!! Hopefully just rain y'all got, we had 3.5 inches over allmof last week, so it didn't wash to bad. Unlike the mountians of both our states😢😢🙏🏻 I think the soil PH is almost perfect according to samples, and I put a modest amount of N to it now. I hope it does come up well, and I sure will take that advice and take good care of it. I am hoping to grab another market myself and pocket a little little coin to help with the farms future. I can't say thank you enough for being here, and I really appreciate the input and advice!! Hoping things dry up for y'all soon!! 😁😁👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Orchard grass, the one grass that looks like 95% chaff, but it still grows. We have planted quite a bit of it. Hasn't planned out so well for us, as we can't get in cut before it's too ripe.. if it's cut early enough, second crop is fairly common.

I know it isn't where you wanted to be, but sometimes we need to take a step back so we can keep going forward. Good customers are really a blessing.
Something neat I noticed about your Herd spreader, it says Logansport Indiana on it. I never noticed that before on those. Logansport is about 70 miles from here. Nice use of furnace duct sheet metal for a patch, that's my go-to for combine patch material. I hope there isn't anything too serious wrong with the 180. Thanks for bringing us along again, Nelson! Thank you sir, I AGREE totally, a few steps back sometimes keeps the forward motion rolling!!! My customers are amazing and they have more that are in the market!! Sometimes big enough to supply, but small enough to promise them goods...is a blessing!! Wow really? That is so cool, they are still in business too I believe! I don't know what your dry fertilizer has for nitrogen. But from what I have dealt with on orchard Grass like such you need a minimum of 50 lb per acre nitrogen. With that being said I applied 75 per acre once in spring and then after every cutting and I had very good tonnage.
