The first time I saw Cap N Jazz was with the Smoking Popes. I was 13 or 14 years old so 93 or 94 and after the first song I thought they were awful. After the 3rd song I thought they might be the best band I ever seen and they looked like average kids. They were so artistic yet mischievous and sarcastic. Tim Kinsella reminded me of Woody Woodpecker and every song made you feel like dancing and spazzing out like nobody else was there. They were much different than the clean direct yet catchy and heartfelt Smoking Popes that I came to see.
