Thank you for explaining how much paper to use. All the other viral videos going around this week are just showing us someone doing it in record time, but you took time to explain, simply, how to cut the paper and line it up with the box. I really appreciate that. I'm glad I found your video because I was having trouble with the first step or setting the gift on the paper. Happy Christmas!
Thank you. I have been looking at the 'hack' for Japanese wrapping, and I was still confused., This has really helped, and because you did it so well, I might be tempted to do something more elaborate
I had a friend tell me about this style of wrapping and I was like no way. Watched you video and was pleasantly surprised! Thanks so much for the wrapping lesson it was really fun and educational.

Wow I just followed another video and even though it came out nice. I would've saved a lot of time and paper if I had followed yours. Excellent video. Thank you
I must be part Japanese because I did this way when I was very young and short on paper. I had no idea this was a traditional/cultural way of wrapping.
Hi, Dorrie, thank you for watching our video. Since we did not expect our video would be so popular, we did not plan well to include the measurement. Let me give you an example here by using a 9" L, 6" W, and 4.5" height box. If using the traditional method, it will require a 29" x 23" paper (I measured around the box both length wise and width wise and added 2' on each side). When using our diagonal method, you measure the 9"Lx6"W side diagonally and in this case, it will be about 11", you then add the height x 2, which is 4.5"x2, that would yield 20", that should be your gauge and usually you can subtract 2" for the other side, so a 20" x 18" paper would be enough for this 9"x6"x4.5" box. If you want to play it safe, you can always use 20"x20", it will be plenty. I always cut it pretty close to kind of show my skill - because after all, it is about saving paper. It can also be for decorative reason when you want to set a striped pattern diagonally - have fun! Thank you again! May
I tried this 5 times it doesn't work for me 😭 does it have to be a certain shaped box or does it work with any box? Why cant i get it? Is the paper cut in more of a square shape?
Watching this sweet lady wrap gifts is now part of my holiday tradition. This video truly did help me do a better job with wrapping.
