      That's a pity Bob. Took me a while to hike it as well first time, not sure why? But even now on my second time I was still surprised by those spectacular views!

    Would you recommend a walk up to see the sunrise ? In case of safety when it gets dark :)

    amazing hike, I appreciate the details you've included here and there.
    Do you know which route at the fork road is more scenic?

      As for your question regarding the route at the fork road on Lion's Head, both options offer stunning scenery, but the decision ultimately comes down to personal preference.
      If you're up for a challenge and enjoy a more adventurous hike, the route to the right at the fork road may be the way to go. This route involves some rock scrambling and can be quite steep, but the payoff is the breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding landscapes.
      Alternatively, if you prefer a more relaxed hike and want to take in the sweeping views of Cape Town and Table Mountain, the route to the left at the fork road may be more suitable for you. This route is slightly longer than the right option but is less steep and easier to navigate.
      Both routes offer their unique experiences and scenery, and it's worth noting that there are many viewpoints and photo opportunities along the way, so you can't go wrong with either option.
      If you're looking for more detailed information about the different routes up Lion's Head, I recommend checking out the following websites:

      and
      { w w w . l i o n s h e a d c a p e t o w n . c o m }
      Each website provides useful information about the various routes, including their difficulty levels, lengths, and different features. These sites are an excellent resource for planning your hike and ensuring that you choose the route that best suits your needs and preferences.
      I hope this information helps you decide which route to take on your hike up Lion's Head, and I wish you a fantastic time on your adventure. Happy hiking!
