At first it seems unreasonably high because you think “well there’s only around 8 billion people on earth total” but then you remember that it’s not one device per person. People in certain countries get new phones computers or other devices every few years and every time that happens that number goes up by 1 as long as they’ve ever run a Java program on that device (which they probably have) Then you tack on industry, servers replaced with servers replaced with servers, I wouldn’t be surprised if the total number was over 10 billion, and if the total active devices was over 5
