It was a shame that the FL abandons the 2nd ML at the end. I’m not agreeing with what he did. He was wrong, but I can see how desperation led him to try and sleep with her. She used him for 5 years. She knew how he felt about her. He gave up any chance to meet someone protecting her and her daughter. She should have been able to forgive his one mistake over the abuse the ML did.
Some sins cannot be forgiven. She CLEARLY said, if he had just stolen the flash drive, she wouldn't have cared; she would have forgiven him. She even offered him that out when she first showed up: "Are you just confused?" she asked. But he HANDED HER THE DRINK, knowing good and well they planned to film her violation and publicly humiliate her. That kind of shame is suicide inducing. THAT'S what's unforgiveable. He did not make a poor choice in a moment of pain and desperation, he INTENDED to destroy her. Her dumba*s husband harbored constant misconceptions about her and was being perpetually deceived by a third party. That's the difference. Does that make sense?

The editing in this one is horrendous! All over the place with repeated scenes tacked on to each other, then a little loop of scenes then back to a couple of scenes before that. Made an already hard to follow story almost impossible to understand. And the presence of a big slab of Spanish subtitles appearing smack bang in the middle of the screen (English ones are at the bottom as well but if you try to turn off the spanish subs, you lose the english also) doesn't help at all. And I still can't understand why he treated her so badly in the beginning anyway, then after she's gone the bad girl is out of favor with him (dunno how that happened either) and he's pining for the one he happily abused. Male writer's logic no doubt. So what could be a good story has been mucked up by editing and subs, and an unnecessarily complicated plot. What all the intrigue with the bad guy was all about I don't know either. And I'm assuming the assistant pretended to be spying on the bad guy, then gave the ML all the evidence, but he turns out to be bad himself with an open ending 'The Gu family must be mine.' Confusion reigns surpreme.

The scene cuts overlaps and keeps on repeating gives me a headache. Someone should fix and edit correctly. So far the story is good until of course the FL will stick back to his abuser of an exhusband. Oh well.your call to watch this. 7 out of 10 for the awesome acting esp ML.
bueno me gustó pero a la vez no por.varios motivos. Repetían varias veces una escena completa y no entendí porqué, lo otro a la final el tío Gu Hui del actor principal no quedó preso, ni siquiera el disque hermano mayor de la chica principal por lonque hizo a pesar que él la ayudó mucho pero él quería forzar las cosas que ella lo amara y las cosas no se consiguen de esa manera vengándose porque no obtuvo lo qie quería ,además en el.corazón no se manda. Lo otro que el hombre al cual Gu Yuxin mandó a la chica malada con él tampoco quedó preso cuando secuestró a la actriz principal. Nunca me gustó el Luo xu el asistente porque hacía cosas raras y pensé después wue estana traicionando a Gu pero era x mandato del mismo Gu Yuxin pero a las finales si lo está traicionando y no es justo. Bueno como siempre la chica buena siempre.regresa al.lado del que la trató mal pero por lo menos este no la maltrato o le pegó como.en otros dramas web. Those mini dramas are full of the martyr victim type FL. This mental illness leads them to stay with the one that abuses them the most. They love to suffer and will never leave their source of suffering.
Honestly, he just needs to pay child support and pay for the ex-wife's therapy/medical bill. All the physical/mental harm he did her will show up. He also needs therapy..Stat! I wouldn't take him back for all the tea in China. He'll be lucky that I forgive him and give him visitation rights. He cheated on her and tortured/abused her. She needed to be a hella lot more grateful to the 2nd ML. Even if she didn't stay with him, dear lord, don't go back to the abuser. She is a mother now and needed to show strength for her daughter. He could have had a kid with that cheap tart of a mistress that he loved so much. He literally walked over this poor wife's sick, prone body and almost caused her to drown and die several times. It's time to see that red flag and walk away with her daughter.

To let your biggest bully find redemption after all he did. Pregnancy and all trying to make her give her baby to that witch. Trying to rape her because “she’s his wife,” so it’s not rape. Sigh-another toxic drama normalizing women in abusive relationships and then going back to their abusers without evidence they have actually changed or really apologized. Spoilers: Note: the English subtitles SUCK! So you have to kind of figure out Immediately, within the first couple minutes of the drama, we see the female lead (FL) bleeding from the head, on her knees in the rain, being verbally and physically abused by the male lead (ML) while begging him to help her sick father who is in the hospital. ML is ranting that he was somehow “forced” to marry her instead of her sister and that he hates her and is going to punish her 10 or 100 fold for what he (delusionally) thinks her sister suffered and then taunting her with a check to the money she needs. FL lead just pathetically says that she has given up any hope of him ever loving her. He continues to taunt her and knowing that she cannot swim, he throws the check into the pool and watches as she basically drowns trying to get it. Wow. What a hateful man! So right away, as well as in later flashbacks/discussions, we learn that the male lead has basically been hateful and abusive throughout their marriage. Great start to a “romance” drama. 🙄 She wakes up, not in a hospital but rather in her own room where he tells her she has been unconscious for 3 days, and then, smiling at her evilly, he taunts her that her father died while she was unconscious-because she didn’t get the money he needed. Then suddenly she is at the hospital where the doctor is berating ML for not taking care of her because she is so sick. She says she hates him, asks for a divorce, and takes off her wedding ring.
Part 2 spoilers! FL encounters evil mistress (EM) when she goes to pray at her father’s memorial and EM taunts her that she is pregnant with ML’s baby-and that they had a hand in her father’s death. Yes readers, ML has been cheating on his wife and sleeping with evil mistress throughout their marriage! So we can add “cheater” to “liar and abuser” on his tip list of toxic traits! EM makes it look like FL has attacked her and she is having a miscarriage. at the hospital, ML physically assaults FL (in the hallway of the hospital!) and I think he actually r@pes her because suddenly after his assault she is in bed with no clothes on and he is telling her that by contract she needs to provide him an heir (a baby). He is then preparing to marry evil mistress (despite not yet being divorced from FL 🤷🏻♀️) Then (hilariously) we see ML and EM (who is wearing a full wedding gown (😂😂😂) talking about their upcoming wedding when ML gets a call that his home is on fire and they have found a woman’s body (presumably FL). He acts shocked (not sure why given that he hates her) and rushes over. The police (and apparently the medical examiner) are on site with a badly burned woman’s body (Ps. This whole scene is ridiculous as they are saying the “results of the autopsy” show something and they haven’t even formally identified the body yet). They have her wedding ring so they and ML assume the body is her. ML puts on a good show of pretending to be upset and denies that the body could be his wife, and even punches the medical examiner/police. He even literally says “you can’t be dead because I promised to make your life worse than death”. He is angry that she got away from him and his ability to continue to torture and abuse her! What a pathetic man. We (the audience) then find out that FL is ok and that she is escaping with the help of her friend, the second male lead (2ML). ML is then told by the police that all the evidence points to the FL setting the fire herself and ML realizes that she m (he thinks) killed her self trying to escape from him. He wanders around remembering all the times during their marriage when FL was kind and loving of him. and apparently we are supposed to believe that he regrets things. 🙄 ML gets super drunk, EM says “well FL is dead now, let’s get married as soon as possible”. He eventually says “no rush, now that FL is dead, the role of my wife will eventually go to you anyway” 🙄 ML finds out that FL’s body never made it to the funeral home so he rushes over. On the way, they pass 2ML and FL getting into his car, and ML is not sure if he is seeing things, seeing her. But he reassures his driver that her death does not make him sad. FL lead is (appropriately) scared that they gave away their ruse to fake her death. And when asked if she will miss the demon (her ex husband) she says that previously loving him is her biggest regret. Again-I am glad he has to suffer for a while thinking that she died trying to escape from his horrible treatment of her. He deserves to wallow in guilt.
Part 3: 38:51 ML, because he is as self centered as always, is saying “FL, you b!tch, why did you deceive me with a fake death?” This man shows no evidence that he thinks his previous behavior towards her was wrong in any way. How dare he ask why she faked her death to get away from him after all the emotional, verbal, and physical abuse he put her through! 39:47 even worse, this disgusting man who has been sleeping with evil mistress during his marriage acts angry and jealous at the idea that his (ex)wife’s baby could belong to another man. (It doesn’t, because unlike ML, the FL is a decent moral person who does not cheat on her marriage vows). He then threatens that if he finds her and the 2ML, he will kill then! ML is such a hypocrite! EM drugs ML and tries to have sex with him pretending to be FL. Then we suddenly see 2ML and FL. And disturbingly 2ML says that he learned that she was “r@ped by that family every day”. I hope this is not a literal translation! And he regrets not being able to save her sooner. 46:39 ML’s spies figure out where FL is (living in an island with 2ML) and ML’s response is “Finally; I have you!” 54:29 ML sends a bunch of his men/spies to the island. Sadly; they tell him that there is no evidence that FL is in a relationship with 2ML. (ML does NOT deserve to know this, especially when he was sleeping with EM during his marriage to FL! Why should he be relieved when he has never shown her the same respect??) ML then orders his men to “bring her back”. What makes him think he controls her? What right does he have to “bring her back” against her will? He is the exactly same controlling monster who is only concerned about himself and his wants as ever. She is an adult woman. Why can’t she decide where she wants to live and who she wants to be with? It’s because ML doesn’t care about what she wants or what she needs-he only cares about himself and that why he wants her back. For his own sake, not for hers. 55:08 ML has the audacity to say “FL, I miss you so much!” Frankly, he does not have the right to say such BS when he never once treated her well during their marriage. EM is spreading rumors that FLs baby is 2MLs. Not sure why that would matter to anyone. Is it an inheritance thing? I wish someone who understands mandarin could clarify. 57:32 FL lead finds out that her father is not actually dead! (And that she suffered terribly with pain and guilt because he husband/ML lied to her and told her that her father was dead.) 1:03:50 + FL and 2ML are violently kidnapped; and tied up in a warehouse, and ML’s spy (who I guess is a double agent?) fakes stabbing the FL to death on camera with ML and his evil uncle watching remotely. Ps. I guess that it’s ok that FL was knocked out with a bat, tied up; and then fake stabbed to death. I’m sure that wasn’t physically or mentally traumatic for her. 🙄
Somewhere there is a 5 year jump ahead on time, although I am a little unclear on exactly where. 1:09:27 what is he thinking asking “will you wait for me”? He is delusional! She literally faked her own death to get away from this controlling abuser and he has the audacity to say that he misses her and hopes she will wait for him?? He lacks any empathy for her and how she feels towards him. I honestly had a very difficult time understanding the parts with the evil mistress here. So will not try to explain 1:18:33. ML is finally less blinded by his family and admits that he was manipulated by his mother and others. He says that he didn’t see it until FL died. **I LOVE that his spy has not told ML that he faked FL’s death (a second time!) and that she is alive. He is keeping her safe until all the dust has settled. And ML is getting a little more karma for all the suffering he put her through! ** We keep having scenes of the ML staring at FL’s photo; because that is apparently supposed to convince us that he loved her, despite how words and actions. He even talks to the photo: 1:19:56 😂😂😂 oh yeah-the “plan” that had been in place for years is almost done and THEN was he going to start treating his ex-wife like a human being? Doubtful🙄. This guy seems delusional and rewriting the past as though he actually loved his wife instead of being manipulative, controlling, and abusive the whole time. Why would we believe he loved her given his words and actions towards her? 1:23:30. He finally finds her (and realizes that her daughter is his as well) and what does he do? Does he ask to talk to her alone and beg her forgiveness and explain that he knows he was wrong and how he hurt her? Nope. He just starts acting jealous of the other man and treating her like she doesn’t have the right or autonomy to make her own choices. He also has the audacity to try to fight the 2ML when he goes to pick up the little girl-who has know 2ML her whole life! Also, whether the divorce was finalized or not, whether he is *technically* her husband or not-does not give him the right to act like he owns her! WTF is wrong with this ML?! He is a horrible husband, never treating the FL with respect or trust, much less love. 1:33:00 ML rescues FL from another kidnapping (!) and happily we see her cringe away from his touch-because she *rightly* is afraid of him and hates and mistrusts him. 1:33:They drive in a car together and he asks her how she has been doing these 5 years. And she remarks that she has been well, calling him “Mr. Gu” which he hates(😂). She reminds him that they divorced 5 years ago and have no relationship. He gets upset and says that he never signed the divorce agreement. And she responds that she doesn’t care because his actions and his words to her made it clear that he wanted a divorce. (Good to see that she’s not just letting him off the hook.). 1:33:55 he says that he still loves her (😂). Which is a lie because of the word “still”. He then goes on to say that he realized he loved her after she left/died. (Note: he has no explanation or regret for his abuse to her when he supposedly “loved her”). She calls him ridiculous (which he is). 👏 and he chases her out of the car and puts his arms around her and tells her their daughter is waiting for her. You know what was missing here? HE NEVER ONCE APOLOGIZES TO HER! I guess he thinks a declaration that despite his horrible treatment of her, really he has always loved her is supposed to make everything ok?! GTFO with that! Worse, ML starts using the daughter as a tool to force himself into FL’s life (regardless of what is best for the child and regardless of what FL wants). He is just showing that he is as controlling as ever. 1:43:28 FL correctly calls out the ML for being the reason she is always in danger. (She is correct.). Sadly, despite a few little bits of self respect on her part , the FL doesn’t seem to think she deserves an apology from him. 1:44:26 first she tells her daughter that ML being a demon is “in the past” 🙄(based on what? The fact that he hasn’t abused her in 24 hours? Pretty low bar to cross) I am hoping that she is only doing this in front of her daughter so that she is not scared of him. (But how does FL know that he is safe to be around her child?). Then we get his half-assed admission “I did some things that were bad to your mother” followed by “I’m sorry, Mom”. That’s it. That is the sum of his apology to her! And she (correctly) leans away when he tries to touch her head and asks him to leave. (I had a brief moment of “yay-she’s not just going to accept a single “I’m sorry” and get back with this crappy man-but just joy was short lived.). 😢 Then (predictably) the writers decide to make the second male lead into a villain. (Otherwise how could she end up choosing to go back to her abuser if the new guy isn’t as bad or worse? 🙄). 1:46:55 she lets ML put his arm around her 🤮 literally just minutes after rejecting him. Not sure she knows that she doesn’t have to choose between two equally bad men… she can and should choose neither of them at this point! 2ML goes full bad-guy and steals vital information from FL. 1:49:24 2ML goes to evil uncle with the data and basically says what he wants is to have the FL. Notably neither man treats her like is it HER CHOICE to determine who she wants to be with, including choosing neither of them!
1:51:14 and suddenly, with no further atonement or apology or begging for forgiveness, ML is just hanging around FL and her daughter like they are a family. Teasing her about making another baby with her. 🤮🤮🤮. He has not earned this yet. (And I guess he does not think she is deserving of an apology. Not deserving of respect. Not deserving of showing her that he has thought hard about his prior disgusting actions, knows he was wrong, truly regrets hurting her, and has actually changed and wants a chance with her.). I feel bad for her given that the writers are inevitably going to have her get back with him. 1:53:42 he is acting all lovey-dovey and hugging her. And she lets him! 🤦🏻♀️ because again, she lacks self love and self respect. Even if she doesn’t care enough for herself-she should be a better mother to her daughter! What she knows about this man is that he was hateful, he was verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive to her for months/years of their marriage (potentially sexually abusive but it’s hard to tell). She knows he was unfaithful and cheated on her during their marriage. She knows that because of him and all the political contriving related to his family, that her life has been out in danger over and over. What part of this makes him seems like a safe/acceptable man to allow into her daughter’s life?? Just because he said “I never signed the divorce papers because after I lost you I decided that he actually loved you”? 😂😂😂. That’s not particularly convincing, nor is it an apology and admission that he was wrong. Then we have the whole creepy scenes where the 2ML stole the drive with the data and used it to lure her in and try to r@PE her! luckily ML’s double agent spy rescues her. 2ML turns out to be a creep! And she should never get together with him - But let’s all remember that what he tried to do the FL is not worse than what the ML actually did to her, repeatedly! (I am fairly certain ML did r@pe the FL because he kept physically assaulting her and then demanding she give him an heir.). 🤮 2:22:38 she spews moe anger at the 2ML than she ever did to the ML, who was her husband and cheated on her and abused her. I don’t know why I expect more from the female leads when these writers can’t be bothered to write a woman character who has self respect and autonomy. They just want some fake happy ending where we are supposed to think that everything is ok, that the years of trauma he subjected her to are no longer a problem. They moving back into the home in which he abused her is not going to trigger those unhappy memories every day. 😞 I guess I just can’t get over the fact that this drama never bothered to have him actually apologize or earn her forgiveness. She is just the same doormat woman that they always write in these dramas who forgive the male lead for no reason. He never apologized her cheating on her. He never apologized for never believing her. He never apologized for slapping her, throwing her against a wall, and all the other physical abuse. He never apologized for lying to her and telling her that he father was dead just to spite her. He never apologized for making her life a living hell (ON PURPOSE) to the point that she felt the need to fake her own death to get away. I guess we are supposed to believe that just because the abusive male lead says that he loves her, that this somehow makes up for years of abuse or proves that he has changed? It doesn’t. He “loved” her while he was abusing her. He needs to prove that he has changed.

En Éstos dramas en el último momento retuercen la historia y convierten al bueno en malo y a la bestia depravada en un "santo" para justificar que la masoquista lo perdone. Siempre ponen a las mujeres como 🗑️ sin dignidad, sin respeto ni amor propio capaz de amar y perdonar al 🐐.😠
So, I'm back with another review. This series is yet another example of why my patience runs thin. So, per usual the FL is involved with a ML who for all intents and purposes ruins his relationship for a liar. After some fate of death or disappearance of the FL does the ML realize that the entirety of the time, he's loved her. The ML has a snake (his assistant) next to him, the plot is rampant with points not coming together completely, at least for me. The FL's "good brother" as always turns out to be such a disappointment once he finally realizes something that should of have been evident way before and that's the fact that the FL never had any romantic interest in him. The SFL so pressed for an affluent name that she jumps from man to man hoping for her come up. Rounding out the deal with a child appearing after an absence of 5yrs and an incomplete ending, I'm giving this an overall rating of 7/10.
It is as though they wanted to make a drama that was a certain length and finding they didn't have enough actual story to fill that time threw a bunch of random stuff in to make up for it.
I'd like to think that the 2nd ML wouldn't have started going lunatic crazy if at least she didn't go back to her abusive ex. It was a wasted effort for him to help her escape, evade capture, and help her thru her pregnancy, childbirth, and early childhood rearing years if she was just going to go back. Of course, the ML missed her. He missed his favorite verbal/punching bag. NOW he wants her back cause she has a beautiful daughter, and the side chick screwed him over. Imagine that?! Snort! She wasn't pregnant with HIS kid. Bwahh! Soo mistress cheated on cheating hubby. Pfftt! That sounds like a personal problem. Never take back a cheater. I don't care if he takes a knife, bullet, or car accident for her. He owes her several lives. She and that baby could have died during his reign of terror, and he wouldn't have cared. I wouldn't give him a second backward glance. The little girl has a loving uncle, and that trumps cheating dad. Brainless, vile, 2-legged amoeba!

Well at least the FL had her baby. I swear, at least 75% of the time the FL is pregnant she forcibly miscarries or it's a forced abortion. Oh but when she comes back with the cute kid, the (ex)hubby now sees that cute kid and wants to get back with the abused FL and play darling daddy. They didn't care for the kid when the kid was in their mommy's tummy so why give a $hit now? It also ticks me off when the writers have the kind 2nd ML go bat$hit nuts and go evil dark. I hate seeing a waste of a perfectly good, kind 2nd ML.
Yeah. They make the second male lead go bad to make it seem the male lead is somehow a better choice? No. He’s not. And she does not have to choose between two evil men. She can (and should) choose herself and her child over either of these toxic men! She deserves better than to end up with the man who abused her verbally, emotionally, physically, and sexually. It doesn’t matter what his excuse was, it doesn’t matter what lies he believed. Nothing excuses his treatment of her! And he does not show true remorse, or truly apologize in a way that shows he knows he was wrong and why. And he hasn’t honestly changed his behavior much-he is still controlling and thinks that he is the only one who gets to decide things. He does not respect her, or her autonomy. If he truly loved her, he would send her child support and leave her alone realizing that HE is the main culprit in everything horrible in her life and that she is better off without him.
So idiot ML finds out the truth by a little more than midway through the drama. Which means they had AMPLE time to take him through a nice reformation and redemption arc where he reflects on the sins of the past, suffers the consequences of his mistakes, and then demonstrates his growth and change to his wife so she can take incremental steps back towards a better/different relationship with him. They had time, and they just DIDN'T do that. 😑He just kinda walks back into their lives one day like she'd been saving him a place all this time and they act like nothing happened. Why? What a wasted opportunity. Aside: This is going to sound harsh, but just once in these dramas, I really kinda wish these FLs would suffer SOME KIND of consequence for their STUPID, TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE decision making so it would teach these morons that there's no White Knight waiting around the corner. If you engage in high risk behavior (like showing up to a bordello filled with your enemies, alone, in the middle of the night, without telling anyone, and then DRINKING something they handed you), there are very tangible and real potential consequences. First and foremost, you are responsible for keeping YOURSELF safe, before you demand that others adhere to a social contract that you have NO CONTROL over whether they will honor. To repeat, you can only control YOURSELF and the situations you allow yourself to be in.
I agree with what you said about the ML and FL in this drama, but the real problem are these writers who keep coming up with these ridiculous storyline. They are the ones who created these sadistic, abusive, cruel ML and weak, pathetic and stupid FL, these actors are just following the script.
This seems to be yet another version of the same story. The storyline is very similar but the actors are different. It is a less violent version than others and the arcs have a different weight than in other productions. This one ends on a cliffhanger, so bear that in mind if you want to watch.

It was a shame that the FL abandons the 2nd ML at the end. I’m not agreeing with what he did. He was wrong, but I can see how desperation led him to try and sleep with her. She used him for 5 years. She knew how he felt about her. He gave up any chance to meet someone protecting her and her daughter. She should have been able to forgive his one mistake over the abuse the ML did.
Some sins cannot be forgiven.
She CLEARLY said, if he had just stolen the flash drive, she wouldn't have cared; she would have forgiven him. She even offered him that out when she first showed up: "Are you just confused?" she asked. But he HANDED HER THE DRINK, knowing good and well they planned to film her violation and publicly humiliate her. That kind of shame is suicide inducing.
THAT'S what's unforgiveable. He did not make a poor choice in a moment of pain and desperation, he INTENDED to destroy her. Her dumba*s husband harbored constant misconceptions about her and was being perpetually deceived by a third party. That's the difference. Does that make sense?

The editing in this one is horrendous! All over the place with repeated scenes tacked on to each other, then a little loop of scenes then back to a couple of scenes before that. Made an already hard to follow story almost impossible to understand. And the presence of a big slab of Spanish subtitles appearing smack bang in the middle of the screen (English ones are at the bottom as well but if you try to turn off the spanish subs, you lose the english also) doesn't help at all. And I still can't understand why he treated her so badly in the beginning anyway, then after she's gone the bad girl is out of favor with him (dunno how that happened either) and he's pining for the one he happily abused. Male writer's logic no doubt. So what could be a good story has been mucked up by editing and subs, and an unnecessarily complicated plot. What all the intrigue with the bad guy was all about I don't know either. And I'm assuming the assistant pretended to be spying on the bad guy, then gave the ML all the evidence, but he turns out to be bad himself with an open ending 'The Gu family must be mine.' Confusion reigns surpreme.

Then telling your “brother,” his rape is unforgivable is insane. Why can’t they just love themself enough to leave everyone and raise their kid

Note: the English subtitles SUCK! So you have to kind of figure out
Immediately, within the first couple minutes of the drama, we see the female lead (FL) bleeding from the head, on her knees in the rain, being verbally and physically abused by the male lead (ML) while begging him to help her sick father who is in the hospital. ML is ranting that he was somehow “forced” to marry her instead of her sister and that he hates her and is going to punish her 10 or 100 fold for what he (delusionally) thinks her sister suffered and then taunting her with a check to the money she needs. FL lead just pathetically says that she has given up any hope of him ever loving her. He continues to taunt her and knowing that she cannot swim, he throws the check into the pool and watches as she basically drowns trying to get it. Wow. What a hateful man!
So right away, as well as in later flashbacks/discussions, we learn that the male lead has basically been hateful and abusive throughout their marriage. Great start to a “romance” drama. 🙄
She wakes up, not in a hospital but rather in her own room where he tells her she has been unconscious for 3 days, and then, smiling at her evilly, he taunts her that her father died while she was unconscious-because she didn’t get the money he needed. Then suddenly she is at the hospital where the doctor is berating ML for not taking care of her because she is so sick. She says she hates him, asks for a divorce, and takes off her wedding ring.
Part 2 spoilers!
FL encounters evil mistress (EM) when she goes to pray at her father’s memorial and EM taunts her that she is pregnant with ML’s baby-and that they had a hand in her father’s death.
Yes readers, ML has been cheating on his wife and sleeping with evil mistress throughout their marriage! So we can add “cheater” to “liar and abuser” on his tip list of toxic traits!
EM makes it look like FL has attacked her and she is having a miscarriage. at the hospital, ML physically assaults FL (in the hallway of the hospital!) and I think he actually r@pes her because suddenly after his assault she is in bed with no clothes on and he is telling her that by contract she needs to provide him an heir (a baby).
He is then preparing to marry evil mistress (despite not yet being divorced from FL 🤷🏻♀️)
Then (hilariously) we see ML and EM (who is wearing a full wedding gown (😂😂😂) talking about their upcoming wedding when ML gets a call that his home is on fire and they have found a woman’s body (presumably FL). He acts shocked (not sure why given that he hates her) and rushes over.
The police (and apparently the medical examiner) are on site with a badly burned woman’s body
(Ps. This whole scene is ridiculous as they are saying the “results of the autopsy” show something and they haven’t even formally identified the body yet). They have her wedding ring so they and ML assume the body is her.
ML puts on a good show of pretending to be upset and denies that the body could be his wife, and even punches the medical examiner/police. He even literally says “you can’t be dead because I promised to make your life worse than death”. He is angry that she got away from him and his ability to continue to torture and abuse her! What a pathetic man.
We (the audience) then find out that FL is ok and that she is escaping with the help of her friend, the second male lead (2ML).
ML is then told by the police that all the evidence points to the FL setting the fire herself and ML realizes that she m (he thinks) killed her self trying to escape from him. He wanders around remembering all the times during their marriage when FL was kind and loving of him. and apparently we are supposed to believe that he regrets things. 🙄
ML gets super drunk, EM says “well FL is dead now, let’s get married as soon as possible”. He eventually says “no rush, now that FL is dead, the role of my wife will eventually go to you anyway” 🙄
ML finds out that FL’s body never made it to the funeral home so he rushes over. On the way, they pass 2ML and FL getting into his car, and ML is not sure if he is seeing things, seeing her. But he reassures his driver that her death does not make him sad.
FL lead is (appropriately) scared that they gave away their ruse to fake her death. And when asked if she will miss the demon (her ex husband) she says that previously loving him is her biggest regret.
Again-I am glad he has to suffer for a while thinking that she died trying to escape from his horrible treatment of her. He deserves to wallow in guilt.
Part 3:
38:51 ML, because he is as self centered as always, is saying “FL, you b!tch, why did you deceive me with a fake death?” This man shows no evidence that he thinks his previous behavior towards her was wrong in any way. How dare he ask why she faked her death to get away from him after all the emotional, verbal, and physical abuse he put her through!
39:47 even worse, this disgusting man who has been sleeping with evil mistress during his marriage acts angry and jealous at the idea that his (ex)wife’s baby could belong to another man. (It doesn’t, because unlike ML, the FL is a decent moral person who does not cheat on her marriage vows). He then threatens that if he finds her and the 2ML, he will kill then! ML is such a hypocrite!
EM drugs ML and tries to have sex with him pretending to be FL.
Then we suddenly see 2ML and FL. And disturbingly 2ML says that he learned that she was “r@ped by that family every day”. I hope this is not a literal translation! And he regrets not being able to save her sooner.
46:39 ML’s spies figure out where FL is (living in an island with 2ML) and ML’s response is “Finally; I have you!”
54:29 ML sends a bunch of his men/spies to the island. Sadly; they tell him that there is no evidence that FL is in a relationship with 2ML. (ML does NOT deserve to know this, especially when he was sleeping with EM during his marriage to FL! Why should he be relieved when he has never shown her the same respect??) ML then orders his men to “bring her back”. What makes him think he controls her? What right does he have to “bring her back” against her will? He is the exactly same controlling monster who is only concerned about himself and his wants as ever. She is an adult woman. Why can’t she decide where she wants to live and who she wants to be with?
It’s because ML doesn’t care about what she wants or what she needs-he only cares about himself and that why he wants her back. For his own sake, not for hers.
55:08 ML has the audacity to say “FL, I miss you so much!” Frankly, he does not have the right to say such BS when he never once treated her well during their marriage.
EM is spreading rumors that FLs baby is 2MLs. Not sure why that would matter to anyone. Is it an inheritance thing? I wish someone who understands mandarin could clarify.
57:32 FL lead finds out that her father is not actually dead! (And that she suffered terribly with pain and guilt because he husband/ML lied to her and told her that her father was dead.)
1:03:50 + FL and 2ML are violently kidnapped; and tied up in a warehouse, and ML’s spy (who I guess is a double agent?) fakes stabbing the FL to death on camera with ML and his evil uncle watching remotely.
Ps. I guess that it’s ok that FL was knocked out with a bat, tied up; and then fake stabbed to death. I’m sure that wasn’t physically or mentally traumatic for her. 🙄

**I LOVE that his spy has not told ML that he faked FL’s death (a second time!) and that she is alive. He is keeping her safe until all the dust has settled. And ML is getting a little more karma for all the suffering he put her through! **
We keep having scenes of the ML staring at FL’s photo; because that is apparently supposed to convince us that he loved her, despite how words and actions. He even talks to the photo:
1:19:56 😂😂😂 oh yeah-the “plan” that had been in place for years is almost done and THEN was he going to start treating his ex-wife like a human being? Doubtful🙄. This guy seems delusional and rewriting the past as though he actually loved his wife instead of being manipulative, controlling, and abusive the whole time. Why would we believe he loved her given his words and actions towards her?
1:23:30. He finally finds her (and realizes that her daughter is his as well) and what does he do? Does he ask to talk to her alone and beg her forgiveness and explain that he knows he was wrong and how he hurt her? Nope. He just starts acting jealous of the other man and treating her like she doesn’t have the right or autonomy to make her own choices. He also has the audacity to try to fight the 2ML when he goes to pick up the little girl-who has know 2ML her whole life!
Also, whether the divorce was finalized or not, whether he is *technically* her husband or not-does not give him the right to act like he owns her! WTF is wrong with this ML?! He is a horrible husband, never treating the FL with respect or trust, much less love.
1:33:00 ML rescues FL from another kidnapping (!) and happily we see her cringe away from his touch-because she *rightly* is afraid of him and hates and mistrusts him.
1:33:They drive in a car together and he asks her how she has been doing these 5 years. And she remarks that she has been well, calling him “Mr. Gu” which he hates(😂). She reminds him that they divorced 5 years ago and have no relationship. He gets upset and says that he never signed the divorce agreement. And she responds that she doesn’t care because his actions and his words to her made it clear that he wanted a divorce. (Good to see that she’s not just letting him off the hook.).
1:33:55 he says that he still loves her (😂). Which is a lie because of the word “still”. He then goes on to say that he realized he loved her after she left/died. (Note: he has no explanation or regret for his abuse to her when he supposedly “loved her”).
She calls him ridiculous (which he is). 👏 and he chases her out of the car and puts his arms around her and tells her their daughter is waiting for her.
You know what was missing here? HE NEVER ONCE APOLOGIZES TO HER! I guess he thinks a declaration that despite his horrible treatment of her, really he has always loved her is supposed to make everything ok?! GTFO with that!
Worse, ML starts using the daughter as a tool to force himself into FL’s life (regardless of what is best for the child and regardless of what FL wants). He is just showing that he is as controlling as ever.
1:43:28 FL correctly calls out the ML for being the reason she is always in danger. (She is correct.).
Sadly, despite a few little bits of self respect on her part , the FL doesn’t seem to think she deserves an apology from him.
1:44:26 first she tells her daughter that ML being a demon is “in the past” 🙄(based on what? The fact that he hasn’t abused her in 24 hours? Pretty low bar to cross) I am hoping that she is only doing this in front of her daughter so that she is not scared of him. (But how does FL know that he is safe to be around her child?).
Then we get his half-assed admission “I did some things that were bad to your mother” followed by “I’m sorry, Mom”. That’s it. That is the sum of his apology to her! And she (correctly) leans away when he tries to touch her head and asks him to leave. (I had a brief moment of “yay-she’s not just going to accept a single “I’m sorry” and get back with this crappy man-but just joy was short lived.). 😢
Then (predictably) the writers decide to make the second male lead into a villain. (Otherwise how could she end up choosing to go back to her abuser if the new guy isn’t as bad or worse? 🙄). 1:46:55 she lets ML put his arm around her 🤮 literally just minutes after rejecting him.
Not sure she knows that she doesn’t have to choose between two equally bad men… she can and should choose neither of them at this point!
2ML goes full bad-guy and steals vital information from FL.
1:49:24 2ML goes to evil uncle with the data and basically says what he wants is to have the FL.
Notably neither man treats her like is it HER CHOICE to determine who she wants to be with, including choosing neither of them!
1:51:14 and suddenly, with no further atonement or apology or begging for forgiveness, ML is just hanging around FL and her daughter like they are a family. Teasing her about making another baby with her. 🤮🤮🤮. He has not earned this yet.
(And I guess he does not think she is deserving of an apology. Not deserving of respect. Not deserving of showing her that he has thought hard about his prior disgusting actions, knows he was wrong, truly regrets hurting her, and has actually changed and wants a chance with her.).
I feel bad for her given that the writers are inevitably going to have her get back with him.
1:53:42 he is acting all lovey-dovey and hugging her. And she lets him! 🤦🏻♀️ because again, she lacks self love and self respect.
Even if she doesn’t care enough for herself-she should be a better mother to her daughter! What she knows about this man is that he was hateful, he was verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive to her for months/years of their marriage (potentially sexually abusive but it’s hard to tell). She knows he was unfaithful and cheated on her during their marriage. She knows that because of him and all the political contriving related to his family, that her life has been out in danger over and over. What part of this makes him seems like a safe/acceptable man to allow into her daughter’s life?? Just because he said “I never signed the divorce papers because after I lost you I decided that he actually loved you”? 😂😂😂.
That’s not particularly convincing, nor is it an apology and admission that he was wrong.
Then we have the whole creepy scenes where the 2ML stole the drive with the data and used it to lure her in and try to r@PE her! luckily ML’s double agent spy rescues her.
2ML turns out to be a creep! And she should never get together with him - But let’s all remember that what he tried to do the FL is not worse than what the ML actually did to her, repeatedly! (I am fairly certain ML did r@pe the FL because he kept physically assaulting her and then demanding she give him an heir.). 🤮
2:22:38 she spews moe anger at the 2ML than she ever did to the ML, who was her husband and cheated on her and abused her. I don’t know why I expect more from the female leads when these writers can’t be bothered to write a woman character who has self respect and autonomy. They just want some fake happy ending where we are supposed to think that everything is ok, that the years of trauma he subjected her to are no longer a problem. They moving back into the home in which he abused her is not going to trigger those unhappy memories every day. 😞
I guess I just can’t get over the fact that this drama never bothered to have him actually apologize or earn her forgiveness. She is just the same doormat woman that they always write in these dramas who forgive the male lead for no reason.
He never apologized her cheating on her.
He never apologized for never believing her.
He never apologized for slapping her, throwing her against a wall, and all the other physical abuse.
He never apologized for lying to her and telling her that he father was dead just to spite her.
He never apologized for making her life a living hell (ON PURPOSE) to the point that she felt the need to fake her own death to get away.
I guess we are supposed to believe that just because the abusive male lead says that he loves her, that this somehow makes up for years of abuse or proves that he has changed? It doesn’t. He “loved” her while he was abusing her. He needs to prove that he has changed.

So, I'm back with another review. This series is yet another example of why my patience runs thin. So, per usual the FL is involved with a ML who for all intents and purposes ruins his relationship for a liar. After some fate of death or disappearance of the FL does the ML realize that the entirety of the time, he's loved her. The ML has a snake (his assistant) next to him, the plot is rampant with points not coming together completely, at least for me. The FL's "good brother" as always turns out to be such a disappointment once he finally realizes something that should of have been evident way before and that's the fact that the FL never had any romantic interest in him. The SFL so pressed for an affluent name that she jumps from man to man hoping for her come up. Rounding out the deal with a child appearing after an absence of 5yrs and an incomplete ending, I'm giving this an overall rating of 7/10.
It is as though they wanted to make a drama that was a certain length and finding they didn't have enough actual story to fill that time threw a bunch of random stuff in to make up for it.
I'd like to think that the 2nd ML wouldn't have started going lunatic crazy if at least she didn't go back to her abusive ex. It was a wasted effort for him to help her escape, evade capture, and help her thru her pregnancy, childbirth, and early childhood rearing years if she was just going to go back. Of course, the ML missed her. He missed his favorite verbal/punching bag. NOW he wants her back cause she has a beautiful daughter, and the side chick screwed him over. Imagine that?! Snort! She wasn't pregnant with HIS kid. Bwahh! Soo mistress cheated on cheating hubby. Pfftt! That sounds like a personal problem. Never take back a cheater. I don't care if he takes a knife, bullet, or car accident for her. He owes her several lives. She and that baby could have died during his reign of terror, and he wouldn't have cared. I wouldn't give him a second backward glance. The little girl has a loving uncle, and that trumps cheating dad. Brainless, vile, 2-legged amoeba!

Well at least the FL had her baby. I swear, at least 75% of the time the FL is pregnant she forcibly miscarries or it's a forced abortion. Oh but when she comes back with the cute kid, the (ex)hubby now sees that cute kid and wants to get back with the abused FL and play darling daddy. They didn't care for the kid when the kid was in their mommy's tummy so why give a $hit now? It also ticks me off when the writers have the kind 2nd ML go bat$hit nuts and go evil dark. I hate seeing a waste of a perfectly good, kind 2nd ML.
Yeah. They make the second male lead go bad to make it seem the male lead is somehow a better choice? No. He’s not. And she does not have to choose between two evil men. She can (and should) choose herself and her child over either of these toxic men! She deserves better than to end up with the man who abused her verbally, emotionally, physically, and sexually. It doesn’t matter what his excuse was, it doesn’t matter what lies he believed. Nothing excuses his treatment of her!
And he does not show true remorse, or truly apologize in a way that shows he knows he was wrong and why. And he hasn’t honestly changed his behavior much-he is still controlling and thinks that he is the only one who gets to decide things. He does not respect her, or her autonomy. If he truly loved her, he would send her child support and leave her alone realizing that HE is the main culprit in everything horrible in her life and that she is better off without him.

So idiot ML finds out the truth by a little more than midway through the drama. Which means they had AMPLE time to take him through a nice reformation and redemption arc where he reflects on the sins of the past, suffers the consequences of his mistakes, and then demonstrates his growth and change to his wife so she can take incremental steps back towards a better/different relationship with him. They had time, and they just DIDN'T do that. 😑He just kinda walks back into their lives one day like she'd been saving him a place all this time and they act like nothing happened. Why? What a wasted opportunity.
Aside: This is going to sound harsh, but just once in these dramas, I really kinda wish these FLs would suffer SOME KIND of consequence for their STUPID, TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE decision making so it would teach these morons that there's no White Knight waiting around the corner. If you engage in high risk behavior (like showing up to a bordello filled with your enemies, alone, in the middle of the night, without telling anyone, and then DRINKING something they handed you), there are very tangible and real potential consequences. First and foremost, you are responsible for keeping YOURSELF safe, before you demand that others adhere to a social contract that you have NO CONTROL over whether they will honor.
To repeat, you can only control YOURSELF and the situations you allow yourself to be in.

This seems to be yet another version of the same story. The storyline is very similar but the actors are different. It is a less violent version than others and the arcs have a different weight than in other productions. This one ends on a cliffhanger, so bear that in mind if you want to watch.
