I was in US for last 10 years. Life was good until I started missing family, familiar childhood places, friends etc. Due to a health issue I had to spend most of my money and healthcare was very pricey. Moreover visa pressure was too much. When I came back to India, depression reduces but it's like your family moved on without you. Your parents depend on your siblings and not you. You are like struggling to tell ur family ur the same person, u need their love and support more than you did before. You struggle to fit in, you want to fit in even though you start missing the good things in US. Slowly everything falls in place but your children don't want to stay here and you have to compromise and go back to the same loneliness and you are scared that you will have to die alone as ur children will leave to college soon and ur parents don't visit often. You have to work till retirement having loans and being from middle class. There is a confusion about which me is the real me. Neither can you fit in that society nor in this. Nri life is like a psychological trap where you don't know the way out!

I totally agree with the point that our parents and in-laws become more dependent on our siblings and ignore us …. 😔
