I love how it's 2022, but your backgrounds are sometimes stuck in 2016 at the Cemetary of Ash with Gundyr. Man, Dark Souls 3 really was up there with the best of them.
im so proud of you for trying to learn to parry 😊😊 hang in there moose!! you can do it!! it'll come to you in time!!!! and when your ascension is complete _no mortal will ever stand in your way again_ also, once you get better at parries with golden parry, i urge you to consider just using carian retaliation parry, it only has one less parry frame than goldem parry but it can used without any fp consumption, so its actually more versatile since it has an answer for spell casters too. Also both Golden parry and Carian Retaliation change the parry frames of whatever shield they're placed on to 12 and 11 parry frames respectively, so feel free to place them on 100% physical damage defence medium shields, it wont make it any harder to parry!!!i I personally like to mix and match which shield i put them on due to which shield best fits with my outfit. Highly recommend that since youve got better style than i do.
Great video man, love to see you wreck those meta shitlords with subpar stuff as usual! And that Vortex WA is crazy good now, almost too fast imo and the stagger potential is just a cherry on top
since you started parrying: you know that infamous running R2 of the heavy rapiers? to parry it you need to press the button at the moment when they move their arm to start the windup, even if they look like they're too far. it takes a bit of concentration to get the timing right but, at least it can be parried on reaction.
Man the guy in the beginning with the serpent hunter and the dual SS guy who switched to stitcher were grade-A sweatlords lol. They really wanted the win screen Also fuck the dual great spear meta.
With the introduction of swappable skills, even more spells, consummables and making jumping attacks easier to do and abuse (compared to the weird jumping attacks of previous games), no one would blame you if you dropped parrying altogether, Moose. It's harder to see plain parryable attacks, when spells and skills are more affordable in FP costs now. Unlike in previous games, where 1 in 5 or 6 people did spell builds, and in DS3, where unswappable skills were just introduced, there are more things to anticipate against, making the likelihood of coming up against parryable attacks or counters less frequent. You can still parry if you want, but not as much reliably or frequent as it used to be in DS3, unless you're like Chase the Bro, or some other diehard PvP souls content creator who lives in these games and has a knack for seeing attacks before they come out.
Parrying is easy in this game. Golden parry and carian retaliation turn any medium shield or lower into an suped up Buckler. Parrying has never been easier. Also anyone who plays with a pattern can be parried. You dont have to rely on crazy reflexes or a perfect understanding of every weapons moves. You can just save the parryshield for when you know exactly what a predictable opponent is gonna do and rely on setup parries. Or make your own set up parries by throwing out intentionally missed jumping attacks followed by a parry for when your opponent tries to punish you. Parrying should be in every players back pocket.
I'm not saying it's getting harder to parry, just statistically less frequent and difficult to look out for, with all the diifferent skills, spells, & offensive consummables made viable now. Though the meta tweeb crowd is likely to prove me wrong, you wouldn't see much attacks that can be parried in a community of healthy builds that utilize all the game has to offer.
I really love the variety of weapons and builds Elden Ring offers. And these videos do a great job of showcasing that. That being said...people still just want to crouch spam. 😅
@@MooseTorrent hammer + shield is also cool, the guard counter is unpoisable and fast enough that you can block a bunch of running/jumping attacks and hit the counter during recovery
@@Sohelanthropus I just wish to encourage people to be creative and have fun making their own builds , skill with a particular build still trumps the average joe who blindly follows the meta and I guarantee people you will have so much more fun in this game.

I was rooting for that last guy, he had more class and creativity than the rest of the meta.
lol'd at the desperate pocket sand battle
Shi shi shah! Lol that was a good one.
That last fight was pretty cool. Props to old-hobo298 for that build.

We will never get another game like DS3 and BB now that Fromsoft has gone too mainstream
@@Sohelanthropus yeah it feels wrong how mainstream they are

Good ol' setup parry still works wonders with spammers, even better now that you can have more parry frames using a medium shield than a buckler lol

Such boring pvp without covenants and still no arena's until next year when the DLC drops.
55 vigor? come on bro. Also I really don't get why you stop at 120 lol, 125 138 and 150 are the metas for pvp in this game.
It was always 120. I never heard a good reason why it moved to 125, so I'm going old school.
