Saw Denison at a show in a church basement in KY this same year. It was the only show I ever went to where everyone sat in the floor to listen, haha. What a wonderful experience and a wonderful songwriter I loved in my high school years in the early 2000s
I just noticed the very last line he sings in this video "The only music I want to hear is the sound of your voice pressed against my ear" is not only the best line in the song, but it isn't even in the recorded track. I can't find another instance of him singing this line.
Agreed. There's even a line close to it in there that could use it ("The only music I want to hear is the sound of the last light that disappears"). Maybe he used made that new line and uses that instead?
This guy is fantastic. I feel selfish for hoping he never becomes mainstream, but the world deserves more songwriters like Denison.
I wish this version had been put out. It's one of my favorite acoustic songs ever, been listening for years and im still coming back in 2023.

Ha, I'm back. Wanted to say that he does sing the "Voice pressed against my ear" in live shows, in case anyone was wondering.
