- This is the second part of our amazing holiday in Phi Phi without kids for the first time in our lives!
This time we are exploring the more local part of Phi Phi. It starts with an interview with an interesting couple who tell us about that terrible day 26th of December 2004, where the tsunami hit Phi Phi.
After that we go explore the roads less travelled of Phi Phi, the behind the scenes, where tourists don't go!

Awesome video guys. I loved it. So pleased that the government looked after the people and didn't totally leave them to fend for themselves after the tsunami. Having experienced rural Thailand via the family farm I really appreciate the get-away from tourism. It is so natural and beautiful and a relaxing way of life and the experience you guys had here reminded me so much of that. Cheers and thanks for sharing 🤩
And isn't it mind-blowing that even Phi Phi island totally has the rural side? I didn't expect that.
The sharing of the tsunami survival made me cry. Absolutely terrifying experience. I remember when the tsunami hit Thailand and I was so sad to learn that a small island/fishing village I had stayed on had been wiped out and my hosts father taken by it. I am happy for that couple that they survived with their baby. And I love your love 🥰🥰

We are learning the balance too, of making sure our kids needs are met, while still making time to put our relationship first. Because we know we are better parents when we are well connected. We also know our kids get plenty of love but will still request more of our attention lol, and in the end when they leave home, it will just be the two of us, so keeping connected is so important 💜

I have to admit u made me cry. It really touched me how Mon loves you. ❤️ I've been married 3 x and never been loved like that by a man. He adores you. I cried but not in a bad way. It was healing to get out the pain. It gave me hope there is love between maan and wife. Not that I want it any more. It's too late now.
I understand what you say. Because I grew up only seeing unhealthy marriages so I really didn't expect to find true love and I accepted it already that true love is just something from the fairytale. I realize we are truly blessed. Wish you lots of love, if it comes from friendship, kids, partner, it doesn't matter as long as it comes in big portions.

Loved this vlog, you two have such a great communication style. Awesome trek around Phi Phi giving a great perspective. I first visited in ‘88, there was very little infrastructure then, just a shack on the beach & very laid back accom. The couple describing their tsunami experience had me in tears, truly a great story 🙏

Maayan- oh how brilliant you filmed and edited again- it remains the same- you have a real talent and also a brilliant voice- there is more to it- you should definitely film documentaries- it' s a great work- thank you very much for that ❤❤. The video touched me a lot, just the part about the tsunami- I still remember how shocked i was when i saw the pictures here on German television and i had already booked a flight and didn't know whether i could can or should fly, with all the misery of the people- in the end i flew because i thought i could help more if i flew, so that money would come into the country .....I will never forget what the tsunami meant for the people- in Bangkok on the Kaosan road there where meter long lines with pictures of the missing people....i cried so much ...Phi Phi in particular was hit so hard- beautiful that you discussed this in your video and told the story of Qui and Chana- it's nice that the government has given the opportunity to build new houses. And it's so nice to see your love and how much you love each other and enjoy your time as a couple- and all the good food, beautiful nature , butterflies and cows❤❤❤ And Milli and Manu and your father and also a beautiful women😍 are waiting at the boat- love this so much❤❤❤❤
Omg I get goose bumps reading your message about how you experienced the tragedy. I was so surprised when the couple started telling me their story. I never asked them specifically about the tsunami but I think they wanted to tell their story to the world. I keep crying everytime I watch it. And how blessed they are.

Sweet life, indeed! Like every thing worth having, it doesn’t always come easily. But in the end, it’s worth it. When Mayim said that she wanted to grow old with Mon I was immediately verklempt, my eyes got misty. Happy for you and your family to have worked so hard in creating this sweet life together. And, that you are taking time to smell the coconuts….and cow poop in the future! Thought for sure Mon was going to say he wanted a cow for the fresh milk. LMAO! Good, practical, man is Mon.
