I am retired from Law Enforcement now but one of our cars had a mx7000 like the one you have in your collection. It helps tremendously if the alternator in your patrol car can keep up with amp draw. One afternoon, I had stopped a bunch of male high school students who were members of a “extra-curricular youth group”(lol) and had them seated on the curb. I had turned on my lightbar to make the ped stop because my car was partially blocking a travel lane. One of the miscreants leaned over looking past me. He told me “your cars broken” so I turned around and saw the lightbar flashing off and on, headlights flashing but not wig wag, I could hear relays clicking, and so forth. I went in and turned off all the lights except the front steady burning lights and rear flashers and that seemed to cure the problem of a weak alternator. Thank goodness that unit was removed from our fleet a couple of months later. That unit was a 1985 ford LTD 2 and it was still in use until I drove it that fateful day in 1996.

I'm a collector. I have no intention of putting lights on cars. They all go on a wall or shelf or whatever. I don't see how anyone can think it's cool to outfit an old cop car to make it look legit. I don't see the point I guess. Under no circumstances, drunk, on my property, on my trails would I even consider putting lights on a car and driving it. When I see people do that I thing serious mental health issues. All they do is try to project something on other people and it kinda makes me want to puke in my mouth a little bit.

the code 3 LP6000 very very special lightbar for English police cars.
only certain ones had them fitted, like ford orion police cars, but better still, the ford RS200 police cars had them fitted [with blue rotators but clear lens]
people are always hunting them down for ex police car rebuilds into show cars.

First lightbar I ever got was an AeroDynic M24 (don't remember the entire number) that had full red/blue, 4 flash in the corners and the center speaker. Got it for $200 from the local police shop. Sadly I ruined it while doing some cleaning on it and had to junk it. Next light was the StreetHawk (similar to what you showed). Mine contained clear domes, red filters, front and rear flash with alley lights. Got that in 1997 for $200 (same shop as before). About that time Federal Signal came out with the All Light conversion kit for my lightbar so I spent $150 for the kit and eventually filled the entire system with lighting. The only thing I never had were the DynaRays (intersection lights) and an Osilaser for the center. Have to do work on the one of the rotators as it vibrates badly (might need to be greased). Thing draws about 24.5 amps wen fully lit up.

You can do what you want on your own property. The MX7000 was a sweet light bar back in the day. That's what I started with way back when.

If you want to make your domes look new, get some Novice or Mother's plastic polish. Use a damp tube sock and rub the domes. Avoid circular motion. You don't want swirl marks on your domes. Let dry to a haze and buff off with a soft towel. Depending on how bad the domes are, you may want to repeat the process. Afterwards, rub some Plexus onto the domes, let sit a bit and polish with a microfiber towel. Your domes will look new. The Plexus rejuvenates and protects the plastic from oxidation.

Illinois, it is illegal to have any emergency lights on a pov without authorization from local ,county and state LAW enforcement agency.
No emergency lights can be displayed whether lighted or not without written permission and notarized by a police chief, sheriff or the head ranking officer of the state police.
Law enforcement will seize the lights from your vehicle, impound your vehicle, charge you with impersonating a police officer, along with a hefty fine to pay.
