Please make more videos if you have the time. People need to see a real shop sometimes I think as ParkTools videos seems to all have perfect new shops like a Rolls Royce dealership.
I'd love to. And you're right about ParkTools, I love their videos but sometimes showing the grease, grime and mess that's found in a bike shop is necessary haha. Is there anything in particular you'd be interested in learning about?
@@bikesplease210 me? Well thank you for asking. I reckon that I would like to see lacing up wheels. Also a look see at the old spare parts bins. that is my favorite part of a shop. All those parts have tales of failure and greatness. lol. Cheers from east coast Canada !
Thanks! It's a beautiful bike, and it's suspension system is actually really impressive. Not as effective as modern mtb suspension, but it definitely does the trick
Nice video, thanks. Yep, that cone needs to be replaced. Don't forget that all the small pieces that came off the cone go around in the grease chipping away at the bearings and the cone. Might find that you need new ball bearings too (they might be okay if they're made of harder metal). That said, the hub should run smoother just for being cleaned out, regreased and reassembled - but the cone's end is in sight so to speak. Replacing it would be best.
Perfect! Please do more videos, you explain so well!

Thanks heaps! Yep definitely needed to replace it, which was much easier said than done... but it's riding nicely now
Great detail
Great video, it's very helpful, thanks! What size is the flat spanner ?
Thanks! For this setup the flat spanner was a size 13 and the regular spanner a 17. Rear hub took 15 flat and 17 regular
