Yeah on the old tyre model, which is on all GT cars for now, it doesn't matter if you turn in 30°, 60° or 90°, fronts will grip roughly the same (broken slip angles and not enough grip dropoff when temperature rises), but with more steering input the rear will be more stable. But if you apply too much steering input too soon into the corner, the rear will snap. I think Spa exaggerates this when you drive Ferrari as the car is a nightmare there.
@@jernejsim That method is how I have unrealistic fun in rf2 - entering the corner I lift off and throw the steering wheel in, rear goes out and I slide the car through. Any car - street, GT or LMP.
@@jernejsim ahhh i tried rf2 a month ago with gt3 on nords...the rear just suddenly snaped on me in the middle of the corner. the outside rear just went really hot and lost the grip or wtf. so what actually happened was that i applied too much steering input too soon? i need to reinstall and check but its frustrating because i dont know wtf is going on
The track limits on iRacing are so ridiculous and have nothing in common with real racing! Same goes for the completely botched tire physics in iRacing! How awfully unrealistic is it that there’s absolutely no oversteer angle allowed? I’ve driven plenty race MX5 in my life and they behave very tame on oversteer and on some tracks the oversteer is even needed to get the Miata properly around corners! All that is impossible with iRacing! It seems like they where to lazy to program the most integral part of the car, controlled oversteer! And I don’t mean that in any dumb ricer driftboi vtec bullshit, but controlled oversteer to set the rear of the car in the correct position for turning! IRacing really has to adress it to finally become worth the price they ask. Unfortunately to many people pay for their dumb physics because they get told that only iRacing is real racing.. When something is expensive, idiots will always throw their money at it.. Make it really good and expensive, them I’m okay with it!

The current gt pro uses the publicly available tyre model right? Only the le mans virtual guys have the "secret sauce new tyre model", right? Because imma flip if even the lmv tyre model still has this issue
Yes it is the older tyre model. New tyres already are on the Bmw dtm car and on Formula Pro, and as you say on the lemans virtual non public edition of Oreca. The slip angles are fixed there, so you lose time by sliding (except hairpins to some extent) But it is still quite easy to hold big slides though, grip doesn't drop off too dramatically.
@@jernejsim Also new Tattus car has new tire (but it is not a new tire model, but just new way S397 approached their way of how tires should be configured).
@@41BOT Ah right, yes. Yeah I guess we shouldn't call it a "new model" when it's mostly just different parameters and different construction within the same mathematical structure (as far as I understand).
Generally setup doesn't matter too much on rF2 GT cars, you just have to make sure the rear slides a bit into corners as understeer is death for laptime. That mostly means RW1 for tracks with longer straights and soft rear suspension with enough rake, and fighting the car because now it not only understeers, but understeers and oversteers at the same time :D New tyre model that is coming #soon will fix most of the exploits.
I love how you do Alonso steering to get car turn in. Haha. Awesome!
The sector gaps are weird because Corvette C7R was on pole and that car has like 8563kph top speed advantage.
