- Welcome to the Weapon Conversions series were I will be going through each weapon and showing you how to create different variants out of it using weapon conversion tactics.
Today we are turning the Holger-26 LMG into the the MG36 Squad Automatic Weapon. At base the Holger is already an MG36, but here I will show you how to complete the conversion!
MG36 (MG-Maschinengewehr "machine gun"): Squad automatic weapon version of the G36 equipped with a heavier barrel for increased heat and cook-off resistance. The MG36 and MG36E are no longer offered by H&K.
The G36 is a 5.56×45mm assault rifle, designed in the early 1990s by Heckler & Koch in Germany as a replacement for the heavier 7.62mm G3 battle rifle. It was accepted into service with the Bundeswehr in 1997, replacing the G3. The G36 is gas-operated and feeds from a 30-round detachable box magazine or 100-round C-Mag drum magazine.
Work on a successor for the venerable G3 rifle had been ongoing in Germany since the second half of the 1970s. These efforts resulted in the innovative 4.73mm G11 assault rifle (developed jointly by a group of companies led by H&K), that used caseless ammunition (designed by the Dynamit Nobel company). It had been predicted that this weapon would eventually replace the G3, therefore further development of H&K's series of firearms chambered for the 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge had been halted. Heckler & Koch, having no incentive to pursue a new 5.56 mm weapon system, was content with the export-oriented HK33 and G41 rifles. However, the G11 program came to an abrupt end when the Bundeswehr cancelled its procurement due to defence budget cuts after the unification of East and West Germany and H&K was acquired in 1991 by British Aerospace's Royal Ordnance division (known today as BAE Systems).
Increasing interest in Germany for a modern service rifle chambered for the NATO-standard 5.56 mm cartridge led H&K to offer the German armed forces the G41 rifle, which, too, was rejected. Design work was then initiated from the ground up on a modern 5.56 mm assault rifle designated "Project 50" or HK50.[4] The prototype was then trialed, where it was rated higher than the rival Austrian Steyr AUG system. The final version of the G36 was completed in 1995. Production of the G36 began in 1996.
On 22 April 2015, the German Minister of Defence announced that the G36 would be phased out of the German army due to concerns about overheating.

I wish the holger integral sight is updated with the G36-style Hensoldt sight/carrying handle
I know what you mean! Thatd be nice but you can closely replicate that with the custom sights it has!
Yeah I was disappointed that they didn't have that integral sight too.
I second this. The most disappointing aspect of the Holger-26 is that it is missing that sight with the carry handle. Hopefully they add it at some point in the future as part of a blueprint.

Third! And great video, I’ve always liked the g36 in this game because of the 100 round mag, but I prefer the 30 rounders because of the increased ads speed. And I can’t believe ur already at 9.7k! I’ve been with you since 3.5k and I can’t believe you’re channels grown so much! I hope 10k comes soon dude!

I'm not the biggest fan of the Holger in this game, but this build is definitely something to consider. I might level this gun up a bit more.
I actually suprised myself with this one!! This build handles very well for its role!
The drum mag is good for raining bullets, I prefer the assault rifle or carbine variants tho, unfortunately the ADS speed is capped to be slower than ARs...
@@Rashed1255 Really I wish they had a 40 or 45 round mag like most ARs do. It would give you the best of both worlds when it comes to LMGs and ARs.
Dillon C I don’t understand why that’s not there already, same for the Tar-21 there’s only an option for a 45 round mag
I've been using the MG36 for the last couple of days, I like it. I definitely like it more than any of the other LMG's and some of the AR's as well, when I have it set up in AR mode. I setup the MG36 with quite a bit more recoil attachments than you did though. It can be set up to be quite a good laser beam with plenty of rounds on tap.
Agreed brother!! This weapon is actually very accurate and can be made even better depending on attachments!

I probably would have gone for a compensator over a muzzle brake, but still a very nice weapon 👍

so which combo is better? muzzle brake and ranger foregrip or compensator and commando foregrip?

The muzzle brake doesn't help with muzzle climb. It helps with centerspeed and horizontal recoil. The description is a little misleading.
Good info brother!! I'll have to go back and retest this with the compensator and see if there is a big difference. This weapon does tend to bounce side to side a bit also!
@@buffnerdgaming2346 - Yes. It has a weird recoil pattern. A brake will help.
Worst weapon in the game.... Sucks even on hardcore mode
I've act6had really good success with it! Es6with the AR version I did!
@@buffnerdgaming2346 i do good with it too, but there are a lot of firefights you lose because of its demage, which is sad. But i have all max out already... Play though the pain haha
