  • Sliding Door (Hidden Track Hardware) Love sliding doors, but hate the look of the track? Tired of the barn door look, and don’t want to use a valance? Want more door options? We get it, we’ve been there too. Lucky for you guys, we’ve got a solution!
    ...
    Most of the time when we say, ‘it’s like magic,’ we’re just being nice. This time though, it’s actually true. Watch as we install this Magic 2 Legno wall mounted sliding door system, that completely conceals the track to create the illusion of a floating door!

    looks nice on the one side, but wont you see the bar slide on other side as you come up the stairs. Would be nice to show that side of the door 😊

      @RefreshHomeImprovements  2 роки тому +3

      Great point. Yes, you do see the bar on the back side when the door is in the closed position. Because it’s recessed into the door, it’s not much of an eye sore- but you’re right we could have shown that angle too so people can judge for themselves 👍

      was wondering that too, and also that there must be a large gap between the 2 panels due to the rollers being attached on the side

    Awesome. Wish it showed how the first part is installed. Is the stationary part of the door screwed into the floor and ceiling...???

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  3 роки тому

      Thanks! We actually have a more detailed version of this video in the works (so stay tuned). There isn’t technically a stationary part of the door with this hardware- think of it as a track door, but reversed. The track itself is on the door (instead of the wall) and the wheels get mounted to the wall. The door has wheels routed into the bottom (as well as a guide rail). There is a pin screwed to the floor directly below where the wheel hardware is mounted to the wall. The door/track slides back and forth but the wheel remains stationary. The pin sits in the guide rail, keeping the door from veering off course 🤯

    Curios, Can this be used without installing the bottom track inside of the door? We want the sliding door affect, but to cover a window area - there is no bottom to put the small track "adjuster/holder". Thank you.

    This looks so good!
    Have you ever installed this on a 3 door system instead of 2? If not, do you think it could work/hold?

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  2 роки тому

      We have only installed it in single door applications, so Unfortunately we can’t say definitively. We imagine you could quite easily use this hardware in a double door configuration, but beyond that it would certainly become complicated (to say the least 😎) 👍

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  2 роки тому +3

      What you’re seeing in this video is actually a single door mounted on a stationary wall designed to mimic the look of the door 👍

    • @freakka

      @@RefreshHomeImprovements would it be possible to install another moving door on the current moving door? And both doors to move back on top of the stationary door?

      @@freakka in theory it should, but again, we have no idea how well it will work. It could be amazing, or it could be an expensive lesson in futility. If you’re willing to give it a shot, we’d love to know how it goes 👍

    Can a lock be added to the door? And what is the gap between the door and the wall? Buying a small condo and the powder room door opens to the walking area. Would love to add something like this.

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  3 роки тому

      Great questions! Yes, any locking sliding/pocket door hardware could theoretically be added to this set up. The minimum clearance between the door and the wall (with the hardware routed into the door) is 12mm (just under 1/2”), and the max (hardware mounted on the face of the door) is 32mm (roughly 1,1/4”) 👍

    you should add the words "Magic door hardware" somewhere on your caption so that this video shows up. Would have loved to seen this a month or so ago when I was looking for videos.
    My question is this, how far away from the wall did you mount the metal guide?

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  2 роки тому +1

      Good idea 👍 We would have liked that too (we assure you it’s in the description and tags). If you’re referring to the wall mounted wheel mechanism, it totally depends on the situation- but there are minimum and maximum allowances listed in the instructions here: www.richelieu.com/documents/docsGr/119/854/3/1198543/1405176.pdf

    Thanks for your video. I have a question that I don't see posted yet. I always find Richelieu's website confusing, at the top of the page it looks like they're saying they sell this hinge "4 by case" does that mean you get 4 of them? I only want 1. I'm hoping to use it for a bookcase door like another commenter mentioned. I also find their minimum/maximum door data sheet confusing af. But maybe if I wasn't just on my phone.

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  2 роки тому +2

      It certainly can be confusing! I think their website provides you the option to purchase multiple hardware sets at once, but you should be able to adjust the box number down to 1. The data sheet seems daunting at first, but we assure you if you read carefully and take your time, all the information you need is provided (and yes, its a lot easier with the hard copy you get in the box!) 👍. We recently visited this install again and did a quick video with some more info on the door here if you're interested 👉ua-cam.com/video/CUHFi8451YA/v-deo.html
