It's weird how syu doesplay the whisper in the red sky solo differently from the recording I remember transcribing the Penta-chromatic run of the solo by ear ,slowing it down ,and im100 percent sure that the lick he played in the video is not identical I think he tends to change it a bit live So if one is to learn to play it with recording it won't be note for note, especially when practicing it with the slowed down recording
It's the same thing with one of the lines from the Silent Revelation solo, the bit right before the 5-note groups string skipping with the F major 3NPS scale.
@@gavinbrooks100 yes i know that pattern really well He uses it in the whisper in the red sky solo too I transcribed that pattern,in the whisper in the red sky he repeats it twice The first time he plays it ascending then descends the same pattern with legato The second time he builds it up towards the melodic climax I noticed that he does a bit differently live
@@user-ge2vc3rl1n he changes little things about his solos all the time.Btw in the whisper in the red sky solo there are little wrong notes played by syu, when you slow down the solo, you can hear some notes that give a major tonality to some minor scale licks. The truth is no recording is truly 100% perfect,I remember transcribing miles of machines and the part where Jeff plays those string skipped diminished arpeggios in one of them he makes a mistake in the recording and and plays a certain note in the arpeggio a semitone lower .But when you listen to it really fast you understand that Jeff wanted to play that as a diminished 7 arpeggio
@@neoclassicalfanatic8416 Would you know if there's a time when Syu played The Nightcraver with the album solo ? It has the worst gnarly sweep arpeggios (Ami shape and A shape), I wonder if he doesn't play it live because of how tedious those shapes are to sweep. For instance those sweep shapes are completely missing in The Awakening even during the long sweep part
7:58 That wide stretch approach in Deep Affection is simply insane
Tuve la buena suerte de nacer en una época que me ha permitido disfrutar de las melodías de Syu, el mejor guitarrista de la historia.
ah i remember now how this video has so many cuts per second
BRILLIANT
awesome .. thanks a lot

I do wanna add that in one of the New Legend demonstrations he plays the first legato fast lick different from the recording as well
