  • Damien Echols was pegged as the leader of the West Memphis Three. He spent 18 years in prison, 10 years in solitary confinement and 78 days on death row... all for a crime he swore he did not commit. In 2011, he was finally freed.

@@anavictoria7225 the Hollingsworth family who knew Damien and claimed to see him walking near the crime scene, covered in mud, on the night of the murders. the lake knife found right behind Jason Baldwin's home, perfectly matching the wounds. None of these kids could prove their alibis, Echols plain lied (and he changed it several times). plus all his other bullshit. about not knowing West Memphis.. while he had lived right next to the Robin Hood Hills. Was it enough to fry him/them? Probably not. Is he a master of manipulation? Totally.

Well when one of the suspects admits to the murder and describes it in detail it kind of makes police think the three people involved did it.
What I don't understand is why Hollywood wants satanists to get away with killing kids, are they themselves satanic? Plenty of evidence right here that they did it and our legal system was right the first time -> archive.is/Zsnlg

Im from a few miles away from West Memphis and lived there when these murders occured. I must say that after his conviction I felt a sense of unease, having to come to terms with the realization that,at least in our neck of the woods,a fella could very well be convicted of murder and sentenced to death with absolutely no evidence alluding to his guilt. I lived in Memphis during the entire debacle. You got to be from this area to understand where Damien is coming from. I too was appalled by the murder of these children, it's beyond comprehension to most of us. But after years of following the local shenanigans in West Memphis by officials, its clear exactly what transpired. Somebody had to pay and these boys were easy to convict because of their family situations, youth, and the fact they were poor. Everyone do your research! I guarantee the same thing could happen to you West Memphis, and lots of other small towns like it. Don't judge, be very scared by stories like these. It could happen to any of us.

All the evidence presented is circumstantial at best, pure speculation at worst.

but that simply proves that US legal system does not enforce seriously presumption of innocence.

    • @BubblingSyphilisSund
      @BubblingSyphilisSund 9 років тому +23

      TeacherRandall
"Including some of the parents"...well, naturally they want to feel that justice had been served, so I wouldn't put much stake into what they feel. Nevermind the fact that one of the parents believes in their innocence. And also, of course the prosecutor is convinced they had the right people convicted. I mean, what prosecutor says they were wrong?
But aside from all that, there was zero physical evidence. None. No eye witnesses, no physical evidence. In what just society do you see death sentences, let alone life in prison, come out of a case that had no eye witnesses and no physical evidence?

    • @BubblingSyphilisSund
      @BubblingSyphilisSund 9 років тому +15

TeacherRandall Yes, he was a troubled kid who had suicidal tendencies. However, not every troubled kid goes out and sexually mutilates and murders three innocent children. And all of the allusions to witchcraft and satanism is ridiculous. It all fits in with the Satanic panic of the 1980's...an interest in the occult and Aleister Crowley doesn't make people go out and murder. He was a kid who was interested in horror movies and related to paganism. These are not warning signs or red flags at all, and it would be foolish to think so. I mean, if he were a Christian, nobody would raise an eyebrow. Even though Christianity has been the root of a billion murders done in its name over the last few thousand years. So they nitpicked those aspects of his life because in a small southern town, that sort of thing is frightening.
Nothing about this is convincing, man.

    • @teacherrandall6560
      @teacherrandall6560 9 років тому +11

Fuck UA-cam .*And all of the allusions to witchcraft and satanism is ridiculous* not really. he did show an interest in those things. then looking into his medical history he was making jokes about child sacrifice and was (is?) a "vampire" who likes to drink the blood of others. others reported that he was killing small animals (including dogs) and saving their skulls (probably doing something with their blood as well).
      makes him a prime suspect.
you can see a video after his conviction, he said he thinks its kind of cool because he always thought he would be known for something big. sounds like a narcissist who would think like that, which fits the profile.

Especially because there was physical and sexual abuse already in the home. He would beat Stevie's mom and him, molest the sister, and would rub one out and make Stevie watch him. Terry allegedly confessed to a family member, that the boys caught 3 men and Hobbs doing sex in the woods. Which makes sense because it was still kept more in the closet then. Damien, also believes someone in law enforcement was also involved. He did a recent interview on a podcast. The culture war with Tim Pool and Damien Echols. It's a really good interview because it talks about back then, all the way up to now. With his fight of getting the DNA extensively tested, and how the state keeps denying the request.

If you knew you were innocent, would you rather go to your death quietly than take any opportunity to tell everyone that you were indeed wrongly convicted and ALMOST killed for the crimes you didn't commit? I think the answer is latter. After all, it's not a real admission of guilt, it's simply an administrative one to keep the incompetent judges and law enforcement officers from having to answer for what they did.
In the end, none of it matters because whoever did kill those boys remained on the loose and THAT is the real shame about this case. It boggles the mind that someone can just walk into a diner with their arms covered in blood and legs up to the knee in mud and then just disappear. There should've been a manhunt for that person instead of picking up local misfits and wrapping it up for the day. The nonchalance of such incompetence is simply incredible, they didn't even bother to try to do their job right.

If I'm a supporter of anything, I'm a supporter of fair and just trial based on facts and logic, and not on religious fanaticism.
The 3 teenagers were not proven to be the child murderers and molesters. All the proof fell onto the belief that the murders were done in ritualistic nature, which...didn't have any proof besides some dude without a diploma saying it is. There also wasn't any other hard evidence connecting them to the crime scene.
I don't know if he did it, after all, the police lost the DNA sample of the most important suspect, the rugged bloody man that went into the restaurant suspiciously near the murder site, and in a short period.
      Please, stop your religious fanticism.
P.S. The three teenagers accepted the deal because Damien was on death's row, they did it to save their friend. Tell me why the police would send this offer?

There's proof of this man existing my man, they even collected his DNA, and questioned him. But the detective in charge of the investigation lost the samples, the defense would talk about this man quite a lot during the trials.
" He knew details only the killer(s) would know"; Alright, what details?
"The narrative has always been that he's retarded and didn't know what he was saying when he confessed." Because he actually kind of is? His IQ is at best, 70. He always had mental difficulties.
"That's what Damien would have you believe."; Or...just general common sense, that you shouldn't really trust this confession that came from a kid that has mental issues, and has the mental capacity of a kid in 3rd grade.

He was out "looking" for him and he was seen last seen with the kid as well. It's clear you're just as stupid and brainwashed as all the cops were. This case was rushed, the people giving statements on the stands were liars, and admitted they were liars! The murder weapon they found in the lake was thrown in the lake a year before the murder, the police were even TOLD that yet they still used it in the case! The boys were never tortured btw they were hit over the head, tied, and thrown in the river and drowned to death. The thing that screwed up their genitals and cut them were snapping turtles, they're very common that time of the year. The turtles go for the soft parts of the body, the ears, the mouth, eyelids and the penis... The scratches the "knife" left behind were claw marks. Go look up the wounds of the boys and then go look up the snapping turtles bite marks.. that should be enough for you. SO many things not linking those teenagers to that murder i can tell you. The parents of the murdered boys even believe it was him.. it's written all over his face! Michael Hobbs Jr over heard Terry Hobbs confess to the murder Michael Hobbs Sr in the basement of their home. Transferred evidence my ass! Are you just going to shove it under the rug so you can prove Terry is innocent! You can call every single murderer innocent by saying their DNA evidence was transferred! The police didn't want to investigate Terry because of all the fuck ups they made in the case they couldn't own up to. They new they were innocent but just wanted to convict someone.

Jeez' that 1 kid at 17yrs old at an IQ level of 71 if I remember correctly ..he had the mentality of a 5yr old.
The police or detectives put words into there mouths , they were interrogated for 14hrs non-stop & told as soon as they tell them what they want to hear they could go home.
Lots of bad cops have used those techniques & in many cases you have people giving false confessions & admitting to crimes they didn't commit & God only knows how many men are in prison at this very moment serving hard time & having their lives taken away from them while getting abused mentally, physically, emotionally, psychologically & that's not including there life has been forever altered regarding family, friends, relationships, lost opportunities, financially, etc.
Anyone with common sense could see how they were targeted & singled out & then intimidated by people with positions where they abused there power.
For many egotistical agenda driven prosecutors its all about winning or getting that conviction regardless if the person is guilty or not.
Then you have corrupt police officers making false statements & planting evidence or just downrite lying.
They had a criminal profiler & others label these 3 young men as possible suspects & then regardless of what was said those 3 were doomed ..already guilty in everyones minds before the trial started ..this was & still is a Bible bet town & so the media made it all about the Satanism, the Occult & supposed Devil Worship & whats more disturbing is how everyone just gets on the bandwagon ..it was like everyone just went with the flow ..the Lynch mob meets the smalltown Bible belt mentality which can be witnessed in lots of the coverage ..there was a few people on camera saying "I hope they get tortured" & have their heads bashed in" "and they should die long slow painful deaths while being tortured" ...and these were supposed people living by the Bible ?
From what I saw that town has a good number of ignorant adults who probably have the mentality of 12yr old , they appeared as stupid rednecks ..the kind that probably keeps a lot in the family if you know what I mean.
That town looked down on anybody who didn't conform to there way of living which included how you looked & how you dressed ..that's why the majority of people in towns like this never become anything more then the generation that came before them ... but then you also have a lot of alcoholic families who abuse their children & many end up bouncing from foster home to foster home where they endure a lot of abuse. That must be the saddest thing about being a child raise into that type of upbringing so what happens to these kids ..they act out & most start out getting into trouble, skipping school & many turn to drugs or alcohol because they cant cope or deal with there feelings so they numb themselves. many commit suicide to.
Anyways it appears many kids even when I was a teenager start listening to certain types of music made by artists they can relate to as many come from the same place.
So people like Damien start dressing in black & start piercing themselves & get tattoos ..these people already felt all alone in the world so they find sollice in that music & many go on later & become artists primarily because they spent a lot of time by themselves & end up creating something like drawing or painting or crafts etc is a way of expressing themselves so hopw does society in these small towns treat these already damaged kids ...they pick on them & shun them & the cops who are just immature boys trapped in adult bodies harass them & target them when they just want to live & be left alone like anyone else.
These 3 young men were wrongfully convicted & unfortunately the system is so slow & if theres one thing we know is ..they never want to admit they made a mistake ..that is one of the main reasons which will have a serious impact on the politics of the town & somnay people are involved & if that's proven then it will effect a lot of people so they generally just stick to the "lie" ...and in some cases we have DNA that proves peoples innocence & the judges in some cases still refuse to over turn the conviction ...its fucking insane !!
There is so much corruption in an imperfect system full of imperfect people.
Remember the Law maybe perfect but people aren't & unfortunately there are many who cannot admit they made a mistake knowing vey well that they mite lose their jobs & it will involve others also & everyone knows that when someone is wrongfully convicted & later found to be innocent they know they will sue the city, the police, the prosecutors, etc & they 'wll' win so what they do in this case is draft up some made up bullshit plea deal or plan knowing that these poor men will do anything to regain the lost freedom so they take the deal they bring to the table just because the law failed them & wont admit any wrong doing.
There are many cases just like this one.
I'm bothered when I see people still saying these 3 men are guilty when they were anything but guilty ...only guilty of being different due to there rough upbringings by rotten parents.

You don't have to like Damien to decide he is capable as a teenager to be the ringleader of this crime. I’m seeing allot of conflicting comments on their guilt. I encourage you to google John Douglas, read his book Law & Disorder. If you’ve ever seen The Silence Of The Lambs, the character Jack Crawford was based on John Douglas and the unit he ran at the FBI. He’s one of the worlds foremost experts on serial crimes. He’s consulted on hundreds of cases to aid law enforcement in catching serial killers. The Green River Killer for example. He’s retired now but he consults privately. Damien Echols wife was put in touch with him. He agreed to examine the case her husband was found guilty of. His conclusion was made without ever speaking to or meeting Damien Echols, Jesse MissKelly or Jason Baldwin. His conclusion was that the wrong people were convicted of killing those children. He details this case in his book and the reasons he believes they were falsely convicted based on the evidence. He never even met the defendants until after they were released from prison. While his expert opinion was that they convicted the wrong people, and that there was mishandling of evidence, the prosecutors still refuse to admit they were wrong. Had they done so, their careers would be over and in a small town like theirs, your reputation is all you’ve got sometimes. This is why they agreed to an Alford plea. But the fact remains that their short sightedness and prejudice is the reason the person or persons who brutalized and murdered 3 innocent children is still free 25 years later. It’s a fascinating book that answers allot of questions I’m seeing in the comments.

I would strongly suggest doing research on this case, you could even listen to crime podcasts that further detail the events going on in the background. Many many times have people given fake confessions with the hopes and lies from law enforcement that they’ll be let free once they say anything. (which Jessie’s story changed and didn’t match up with the crime) There has been more evidence that has surfaced that would make Terry Hobbs more of a guilty contender in the crime of killing those three children, or how about the bojangles man who had a report against him of running into a nearby fast food restaurant covered in blood and hiding out in the women’s restroom the same day the 3 went missing. (that the cops failed to investigate or much less even get out of her vehicle to go inside and look at)
The police made it more of a “witch hunt” and a “who is into satanism” instead of actually finding justice for those poor children who were victims of a disgusting crime.

You are absolutely wrong about Damien Echols and you obviously have no understanding of what we call 'magick' and things that happen in this world on a metaphysical supernatural level far beyond our primitive narrow minded egotistical human understanding.. This man never gave up on his craft and favorite thing in life which is magick, and was one of the things that not only allowed him to survive in prison but thrive despite wrongly being on death row, being beaten and humiliated, in solitary confinement, and seeing awful things like other inmates killing each other. Although in a dreadful and awful place he was able to thrive in learning magick and things beyond our comprehension, and if you actually watched videos on his channel where he made livestreams discussing tons of topics on spirituality, the bible, angels, ceremonial magick and its rituals, other religions and beliefs, and his own story and what he went through and how it relates to life and what he practices; then you would realize that Damien Echols is not only a complete far cry from what you would call a fool, but is light years ahead of most people in this world and especially you in this spiritual journey and road to enlightenment. He is a master of his craft and is willing to share his knowledge with others to also have an opportunity to do this, outside the restrictive narrow minded confines of mainstream religion and the herd mentality that follows it..
He went through hell and became much stronger and wiser from it, to the point he said he wouldn't even change what he went through if he could because he learned so much about life and what it means to be here and all these forces at work behind the scenes and within us all. As a matter of fact the bible is a whole book that talks about magick and how to understand and learn it to manifest things in our lives; many characters in it achieved the great work and reached enlightenment. Characters like Ezekial, Moses, Daniel, Enoch, and even Jesus are some the greatest practitioners of magick of all time among many others. You oughta know more about these things before you put someone or something down you don't know about. 🙏

I realize your comment is over a year old now but I just have to interject a bit. I think you are misjudging his practices as a teenage interest. Damien is a practitioner of hermetic science and high magick. You might have heard of the Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn? The Great Work as it's called is not teenage, angsty, sinister, edgy, or any of that. It's about self improvement, inner work and transformation and being a good person. A lot of wealthy and famous people have practiced going back to 100s of years. People like Leonardo da Vinci, Nostradamus, Mary Shelly, Bram Stoker, etc. Even in our modern times it is practiced heavily by the rich and famous. Doctors, lawyers, Priests, and professional people as well as everyday working class and people from cultures and religious backgrounds around the globe. It's definitely not some fad that a teenage dufus gets into. As a practitioner myself, I understand all to well how judgemental folks can be and how any spirituality or practice that isn't Bible thumpery is viewed as "Satanic". Sadly, something tons of us take seriously and to help us be better humans is what got him labeled as evil and convicted. Having grown up in Oklahoma in the heart of evangelical insanity, I definitely have a grasp on how this happened to him and his friends. Super scary and sad and worrying that no one can practice their spirituality without worrying about being judged unfairly as evil, satanic, etc.

According to Order teachings, this is necessary in order for a Galactic civilization to form, in which "Aryan" society will colonise the Milky Way. It advocates a spiritual path in which practitioners are required to break societal taboos by isolating themselves from society, committing crimes, embracing political extremism and violence, and carrying out acts of human sacrifice. The album Intra NAOS by Italian band Altar of Perversion is named after the O9A essay NAOS: A Practical Guide to Modern Magick and showcases the band members' own path through the Numinous Way. Some music associated with the O9A has also been controversial; The Quietus published a series of articles during 2018 exploring the connections between far-right politics, music and the ONA.[232] English philosopher, short-story horror writer and "the father of accelerationism" Nick Land has also promoted the group in his writings.[233][234]
The title, which right-wing media has read as a “sex cult” or a “bizarre occult ritual,” refers to a series of performances from the 1990S, IN WHICH ABRAMOVIĆ used pig’s blood to write phrases like “Fresh morning urine sprinkle over nightmare dreams,” or “with a sharp knife cut deeply into the middle finger of your left hand eat the pain,” on the walls of museums. In 1996, she also created an “APHRODISIAC cookbook” of the same name. The ONA eschews any central authority or structure; instead, it operates as a broad NETWORK OF ASSOCIATES - termed the "kollective" - who are inspired by the texts which were originally authored by Long and other members of the "Inner ONA". The group is composed largely of clandestine cells, which are called "nexions". The ONA used the term Traditional Satanism in their Black Book of Satan, published in 1984.[44] Since the establishment of the ONA, the term "Traditional Satanism" has also been adopted by Theistic Satanist groups like the Brotherhood of Satan.[65] Faxneld suggested that the Order's adoption of the word "traditional" possibly reflected a "conscious strategy to built legitimacy" by harking back to "arcane ancient wisdom" in a manner deliberately distinct from the way in which Anton LaVey sought to gain legitimacy for his Church of Satan by appealing to rationality, science, and his own personal charisma.[65] Elsewhere Faxneld suggested that the ONA's use of "Traditional Satanism" to differentiate themselves from the dominant forms of Satanism had comparisons with how those who describe themselves as practitioners of "traditional witchcraft" do so to distinguish their magico-religious practices from the dominant form of modern witchcraft, Wicca.[66] According to Anton Long, writing in the text Selling Water By The River "Traditional Satanism is a term used to describe the sinister path which for centuries was taught on an individual basis ... To this path belongs the Septenary System, Esoteric Chant [and] the comprehensive training of novices (including the DEVELOPMENT of the physical side) and most importantly the Internal system of magick (the Grade Rituals etcetera)."[67]

The Alford plea closing the case is also problematic as no resources are assigned to closed cases

Weren't there criminal documents or something akin to him having killed animals throughout his childhood? Please correct me if I'm wrong cause it's been awhile

One boy said he had killed a dog by jumping on it's head, it was probably a false claim.

@@GabrielNicho That's a strange way of saying "they found amimal skulls in his room, and multiple multiple people said he killed dogs and cats to the point that they would literally hide their animals from him"

@@LyonsArcade They found one animal skull in his room, and it was not from an animal he killed, but that he found dead (with his father). The story with the dog could never be confirmed. Lots of people have skulls and other shit in their rooms, doesn't mean he is a child killer. When I was a kid I saw a ring with a skull on it that I bought, I was also fascinated by the jolly rogers flag.

People should read lawyer William Ramsey's book on this case called "Abomination", it's truly brilliant.

@@Karzath I always love well-substantiated arguments like this. They really change someone's opinion, especially when they contain at least one ad hominem. @@rhahnabunaid Sorry for stating facts. Hollingsworth family knows who did it. That's why they made up the claim that they saw Damien near the crime scene. LG Hollingsworth had blood on his shirt the day the boys went missing.

The three having to admit they were guilty in order to get out is crazy. Promising not to sue. The red headed kid didn't want to say he did it. He.wanted to take a stand for his innocence but when he realized how bad off Damien was he went along. The three thanked and the three in prison were all victims. 6 boys that went through he'll because of some monster who is hopefully dead.

This is a lesson to *never* agree to talk to the cops in the interrogation room, especially without a lawyer.
They are *not* trying to help you, all they want is to solve the case
