Great review. Thank you. I wish it was more driver centric and engaging since I really like the two tone metallic silver with piano black roof, wheels and other parts such as bumpers etc.
Grandland is basically a rebadged Peugeot 3008. Grandland is even manufactured in France. But at least Grandland has its own style design-wise. Unlike those VW group cars who all look pretty much the same. Grandland exterior looks very sexy although the interior is really bad compared to 3008. Grandland will certainly be placed below 3008, as it costs less than 3008. So they will not cannibalize each other. I personally still prefer 3008. I hope Grandland will be successful too.
It's been a long time coming. But I think we will see a switch back to Vauxhall ( we're in the UK ) when I come to my next vehicle change. We went from an Insignia Elite, to the Audi Q3. BIG mistake !.
Would get the diesel for 2 reasons. 1. 4 cylinders is better than 3. 2. Reviewers from my country said the diesel has a different transmission and the shift action is a lot better. Of course I would test drive it to test this claim.
Good looking SUV. I agree with other people, the interior is a letdown, especially if the materials are poor. Given the choice I would probably go for the 3008.
Good review, fun to watch. I drove the Grandland X back to back with the C5 Aircross last week. I preferred the Grandland, the Aircross was too bouncy for me and felt weird on turn in to tight bends. I also much prefer the proper switches and buttons of the Grandland X to the touch pads and having to use the infotainment screen to change things such as cabin temperature as implemented on the Aircross. I was impressed with the 1.2 petrol engine, easily pulling from 1000rpm in third gear. Regarding the actual gear shift, unlike you I did not find the manual shift bad at all, maybe it's been changed since you drove the car at launch?
hi I wanted to know how much it will consume the new opel grandland x hybrid plug-in because I fell in love with this car as soon as it will come out in Italy I'll take it for sure. Please tell me please
@@MarekDrives Hmmm... I don't know... I just have a subjective bias bias when it comes to French engines and French cars altogether. Even though Opel has the same French engine I still have this bias towards German quality va French gay-stuff :) So maybe I'm just being biased. But as a grandland 2018 owner I must say the car is much better than you make it out to be in this clip.
this car was better than 3008 in the moose test (km77). grandland, followed by 3008 and Q5 were the best performance (in terms of stability) above all the world brands tested. I think a misplaced phone charger does not make it such a bad boaring car as you have just implied. Safety and stability is the real thing, and phone charging is another! However I did enjoy your review as always.
should I buy the Grandland X? here in Lebanon it comes with 1.6L engine the thing is i'm an OPEL fan and currently I drive the insignia A 2009 with 2.0 L turbo petrol engine (a20NHT)
Funny that you can have the Mokka - the smallest crossover in the Opel range - with all-wheel-drive but this feature is unavailable for both the Crossland and the Grandland. Lack of consistency. But what do I expect, it's Opel, they didn't make a decent car since the Omega.
Funny how peugeot won dakar rally in 2016 and 2017 with TWO WHEEL cars. Funny also how a awd ads more weight, more serviceable things to the mainenance list, loses more power in power transfer, spends more fuel, leaves less space for interior of the car and all that for a 5% of buyers and with a higher price tag. What do you drive now? AWD?
7 років тому+2
of course I drive AWD. How is that even relevant? It's nonsense to make an SUV without AWD option, and even more nonsense to offer AWD only on the cheapest SUV in your range. So this 5% of customers will go for the cheapest car instead of the more expensive one. A commercial suicide.
You are kind of stupid, the current Astra is pretty decent!
7 років тому+2
I know that, but as a customer, I don't care. It's not my problem what platforms they use. I want AWD in the biggest and most expensive SUV they offer and it's unavailable. So I'll buy a Skoda instead.
It may take a while before I get to the Karoq (Skoda PR in Poland works in mysterious ways), and Ateca is on the market too long to be relevant. I'll have to wait for a facelift. There's only so many videos I can make on my own, and I have to focus on relatively new cars.
Nice car but not a good replacement of the Antara. This may only pull 1400 kg where the Antara may pull larger weight. At least the Antara goes to 2000 kg.
Really like that car. Can't wait to see it with a 2.0 liter petrol engine, 8-speed dual clutch auto gearbox & all wheel drive. The current 1.6 liter engine is good enough though.
meh... Opel is like the Toyota of Germany or is it officially French now? At any rate, they are neither offensive nor memorable. They get you where you need to go. The rental car companies and pensioners will buy them. I would much rather have the 3008.
To say you cannot see the peugeot design in this vehicle wuld suggest yo need glasses it very clearly part of the psa group designs. If anything iys the most boaring of designs and as foro the astra reference you're way off the mark. This new design language is conservative bland inoffensive to the point of boardom. It not offensive it not innovative its just boring eurobland opel I would love to see of the V design language put back into the brand.
opel, citröen and Peugeot...tree worst cars in europe. In in my country, we call french cars PUNISHMENT. tehey punish you and your wallet week after week
I dont like German cars. VW is shit. FSI DSG. Shit. to me is only one car...Toyota. no other car is good enought to meet needs of cold winter in my country
I drive my whole live Opel Cars and I never had any trouble with them. German quality we say in my country. French cars are sometimes a pain in the ass.
I had two Saturn Astra's in past. They were rebadged Opel's sold in the United States. Both coped easily with the weather extremes common here. Summer temperatures can be over 100 degrees and winter can be as low as - 40. Never not started or left me stranded. Both lasted well over 250k miles with regular maintenance and minimal repairs. Now I own two Buick Regals that are rebadged Opel Insignia and they are more than a match for anything Toyota or Honda makes.
Stunning...got mine in Topaz Blue and already received loads of compliments

An Opel based on Peugeot? Truly a match made in heaven.

Good review as usual ;)
Love the way you speak. Very clear and soothing :) Keep it up!
Thank you.
I like your test drive style!Keep going! :-)
Nice shots Marek.
i went on a test drive i couldit hear enging at all very quiet and i think it is a lovely car

Peugeot 3008 is just a wonderful car. I was very surprised when when it arrived. It made every competitor obsolete in a day.
If there has to be plastic I like it hard as it won’t get gouged as easily
The engine feels in fact pretty dynamic.
Really nice review as always. I would really like to know your opinion on peugeot 3008 1.2 manual compared to opel grandland x 1.2 manual.

Opel's exterior is better looking than 3008, however interior of 3008 is prettier.
true but the steering wheel in 3008 is to small
Dude this is the absolute WROST review of a car I've EVER seen ! MY GOD ! :(
You haven't seen much then ;)
@@MarekDrives lol. Maybe... But it seems you're doing this really just to bash Opel :)
Take Peugeot 3008 for a test drive, and you'll see why Grandland X is just meh.

Any plans to review the Hybrid4 version? :)
Is the 3008/Grandland Hybrid4 already on the market?

Nice road test, you didn't just rip the piss out of the car based purely on the fact it is an Opel/Vauxhall.
The gear shifter , in the peugeot 3008 that i test drove, was very light and precise. Is it really so different in the opel grandland x ?
Grandland X shifts just fine, was surprised to hear him single this out and then even go on to recommend an auto 😱
Great review as always. Any chance of a video comparing another pair of "twins" - Seat Ateca vs Skoda Karoq ? Or 2 separate reviews maybe? :)

I love your reviews... ! Neutral and truly useful
And this car is just with too much french taste.........
I prefer the grandland's exterior, but for the interior the 3008 is much much better
Marek rocks
Love it
Nice car but not a good replacement of the Antara. This may only pull 1400 kg where the Antara may pull larger weight. At least the Antara goes to 2000 kg.
Never mind this boring old box, when are you getting your hands on the Hyundai i30 N?
Good question. I don't think it will come to Poland this year. Maybe spring?
It's just okay, this Opel. But I would buy the Peugeot 3008 for its much, much nicer interior.
Does anybody know if it comes in 4X4?
It doesn't. Peugeot may have a 3008 hybrid with the electric motor powering the rear wheels.
Only with the 300hp hybrid
Opel Grandland X Why would I when The Peugeot 3008 is unanimously well known to be the best suv.
Because it's still a Peugeot, how long until it breaks down.....
I don't know why in america they don't promote opel , I like the style I would love to own a monza or insignia .
US got Buick and Chevy. AFAIR current Buick Regal IS the Insignia.
06:02 Das ist gut, ja
This should have been American chevy equinox
Autogefühl was also in this location.
Yeah, it was the international media launch, so half of Europe filmed in the same location.

4:22 there was no wall *still crashes*
Opel car is perfect
I just bought the Grandland X... Prob. Peugeot 3008 is better but here in my country the Peugeot 3008 resale sucks
Ania roxx! :))
Pretty car, but lacks quality and grunt, I'd say.
meh... Opel is like the Toyota of Germany or is it officially French now? At any rate, they are neither offensive nor memorable. They get you where you need to go. The rental car companies and pensioners will buy them. I would much rather have the 3008.
Tell me if you see an Audi which is "memorable". They all look the bloody same, especially in the rear-view mirror.
Cc of Peugeot 3008
The 3008 has a much nicer interior and exterior
Still Peugeot 3008 and Hyundai tucson are the best looking suv's...
Check 7:42 ...oil leak already.typical Opel. Ha ha ha
It could also be water condensation from the air conditioning.

Peugeot Grandland X
I prefer the 3008 even if it is a bit of a glitterbug and likely to attract many magpies.
Just buy an X trail
With a Peugeot engine, fuck Now, shame on you Opel
Swinging your foot - opens the boot,
"Door open" you shout, and get the fuck out.
This is Opel - poetically bad piece of s.
