I've been to several of these places. I was just at Lexington BBQ and BBQ Center last weekend. And seeing the Hickory Log in Forest City takes me back to my childhood. That's the place that made me fall in love with the western style. It's been gone years now.
Best I ever had was the family pig pickin’s in Farmville. Uncle Sam Askew made the best I ever had. His wife aunt Winnie Bell was the best cook I have ever witnessed. Incredible food that melted your heart. ❤️

I had to come to.the realization that I can cook better bbq and NC bbq sucks compares to Texas.
