I often turn off the 🔇and listen to the live commentary from the 📻stations. It's sometimes a little different in ⏲, but you get used to it. You see, your 🧠 processes it and the comment then confirms what you thought you saw.
1) The Wings vs Panthers game was NOT supposed to be on TNT. The game that was supposed to be on there was Chicago at Buffalo. But the weather in Buffalo was so bad that game got postponed and this game was quickly shuffled into the broadcast. 2) The regular announcers for the TNT broadcast were trapped in Buffalo (or somewhere) and were not able to be at the game in Florida to do their job. So instead they used the in between period guys who are all former players, but unfortunately don't have the gift of gab that former NHL guys like Mickey Redmond have. You also have to take into account that they weren't at the game either. They were literally watching from the TNT studio.
At the start of the season I thought Lyonxs lateral movement went to far over the edge of the crease. I've noticed him stopping shorter now. He's getting better. Much more tuned in.
Boy Lyon's been great. Larkin had a rough night but sniped that baby in OT to seal the deal. Moose / Fabs / Copper line really making a difference. D looking much more solid. Good times thanks awood LGRW!

They're playing decidedly better defense as well, even if not wholly perfect or constant. If the team we've had over the last 7 games was present at all in December, Husso and Reimer probably look a little bit better than they do right now. Let's not forget that Reimer was in net for the game in Toronto and posted a .933 and 2.02 GAA on the road.
It was kind of a blessing he was forced to play consecutively (I wholeheartedly believe there should be a main goalie and a reserve) he’s been able to prove his worth for sure 💪🏻

I agree with most of what you said, except Maatta's defensive impact. He and Holl have easily the easiest defensive minutes and the highest OZone start percentage out of our 3 pairs. Good that they're playing well with those minutes but Seider and Walman face the toughest competition in the league statistically in comparison

A lot of our D men panic when they have the puck (especially Petry) He VERY rarely turns the puck over and makes smart plays. Even Seider and Walman have made a lot of bonehead plays this season. Ghost and Petry are god awful defensively. Chiarot and Holl have been steady. I just like Maatta's play, not flashy....just smart.

If you read about the "Hockeytowtown horn", it used gases no longer legal in US buildings. They found a way to make it work without said gases. So it probably makes it sound different. That and the LCA has totally different acoustics to JLA.

@philhamilton8731 the start to the season their seven game streak was all about puck possession. The first two lines are absolutely capable and that's how they score. Our third line is a bunch of bashers so it turns to dump and chase.

Does anyone know of another broadcast that is better then mickey redmond and Ken Daniel's? I'm curious because I am from detroit and am 37 I have been listening to these guys my whole life. I've listened to other cities broadcasts with my espn + so it allows u to tap into either teams broadcast sometimes and I watch literally every game of every team I can. I don't think there is anyone even close to detroits broadcast

Maatta has been excellent for me this season. Very underated defenseman. Just plays smart and is a +12 our best of the D core.
