haha, there is always something. I really liked the KO, is fast, simple, portable. The SP is a lot more powerful, but it needs your attention a lot more, you need to spend some time learning the workflow. It depends on what you need. Also the KO II is new, I am pretty sure some firmware upgrade are on the way. But yeah, if you have the money, get an SP and give a go. If you don't like it, you sell it. Thanks for the comment.
Same here 😊 And yes, most other tutorials are old or aimed at just the updates. So very welcome! Looking out for the other ones, very valuable… so yes, it’s gonna be a BIG coffee 👍🏻
This is a great Mark 2 tutorial, the best one yet! It really cleared up some issues I had with the sequencers and understanding the pattern bank/sample bank relationship. That confused me a lot last year when I tried to get into this device. Can’t wait for the deep-dive into the sampling. I will buy you a cup of coffee.
Glad to hear it was helpful. I'll take that coffee, but only if you can afford it and you are NOT struggling. If you are, buy yourself a nice coffee :) Thanks for the comment.
OMG this is a sort of a video i would dump on my hdd, because sorry but it's so fundamental! There is everything in this one!!! Even tho i'am using a MPC One for a couple of years now - this thing... now i want it even more as a compact advanced sampler. Perfect explanation of what it is and what it's not! Thank you!
What a dilemma right ?? MPC, SP, xxx. Look they are all great, they have pros and cons. I love the MPC ( i actually preparing content with an MPC one +), I love it, but at the same time it offers a lot more, there is a lot of menu diving, which slows you down a bit. The SP, has less features, but when you learn the workflow you go fast. Just like with an Elektron, at first is confusing as F... but when you get it, you fly. Thanks for the comment Vitaly.
This is such a fantastic guide. I'd been considering getting an SP-404 Mk II for a while and finally ordered one tonight. Watching this video has me so excited. :)
It's my first day with the sp404 and even though I felt a little intimidated by this hardware, you turned it around and it's a pleasure to follow your steps and learn all the ins and outs. Massive THANKS!
Your tutorials are amazing. I just got an ms-20 mini and have binge watched your deep dive 2 or 3 times already. Your volca drum one too. Thank you so so much 🙏 hope you have a great day.
What a combination !! Deadly, I love the MS-20 and the Drum is the most creative of all the volcas. Glad to know the videos helped you. Thanks for the comment, had a great one you too.
@@XNBeatsMusic Yes I could feel your enthusiasm and love for the ms-20 in the tutorial 😀 and you're right it's a beautiful machine. I have a bass station 2 and subsequent 37 also. I'm really not good at teaching myself stuff at all but when it's explained clearly and simply I get it. That's why i wanted to reach out and say thanks. When i get paid i will be buying you a coffee or two 🙏👍
@@rich69694 Thanks !!! I have a lot of experience planning, scripting and creating courses. And thanks for the coffee, only if you can, if you are struggling please don't do it, keep it. Your support liking and commenting helps a lot already.
Absolutely loving this tutorial! Thanks so much for making these. Also, the way you say gigabytes makes me smile every time. Gotta love an awesome accent! To be clear, your English is excellent. 🙌
perfect! just focusing on the right topics so much better than the manual or videos by roland, congratulations, this video is exactly what i was looking for to manage these annoying shift /remain /secondary functions and button combinations that drive me crazy….thank you so much!
Thank you for taking the time for creating these tutorials because all them others speed up the process so fast that its hard to follow and the 404 can be pretty complicated when you just get it so this guide is bad ass!! Big THUMBs up bro!!
I was looking at the SP for ages, but the learning curve put me off. After seeing this vid I got it. Very happy with it, thanks. You have saved me hours of frustration ;o)
Honestly I picked up the SP404 mk2 and I really did not like the workflow but man on the newest update + your tutorial I'm really starting to love the thing
Yeah, that is a big difference. But they are different machines, KO 2 is an expanded KO 1. The SP is much larger, also a bit more expensive. It depends on your needs.
Nice video. I haven't figured out how to save pattern/ beat as a project if I already fishined the beat but didn't start it as a project. When I sit down to make a beat. Do I have start it as a project in order to save it?
@@blazrodic Oh, well, yeah. For me, some words are very tricky. I might spend 5 hours talking. You see the trimmed version because I do a lot of editing. And I got to say, after 5 or 6 hours of recording you end up brain dead, pronunciation goes out the window. The worst part is that, I have to edit the raw footage and I hear myself and say "fucxx !!!". But what am I going to do ? Film it again ? It's a learning process. I like when people help me with the pronunciation, because I can try to fix it the next video. As long it's a suggestion, if it's disrespectful I delete the comment and block those users.
About the 16gb memory , is it 16 gb per loaded project ? I mean , can we have a « project 1 « with 10 gb of samples , and then we load a « project2 »with 10 gb of completely different samples than the project 1 ?
Hello, thanks for the comment. Totally, it is not very intuitive, most samplers have lots of features, so you really need to spend some time learning it. But, I can really say that when you practice and learn the workflow, you go fast. It's like anything, some people love it, some other people hate it. You just need to give it a go, but be sure you want to spend some time learning that workflow. If not, just use a PC and DAW.
It's not intuitive, but you can't just watch this in one sitting. Bust your SP-404 out and follow along, that's what I did. Intuition comes from practice with this machine.
0:45 .See no UA-cam page tells you that it works by projects only this is the first video that actually tells you this ! Thank you
I should have bought this instead of the KO II.
They have them on Reverb for a decent price.
@@atomfaust thanks for the tip. I’m going to check it out.

Hi everybody, one question. Is there a way of changing the pad you wanna use while being in chromatic mode?
To whom it may concern: do not stand on any part of your sp404
But what if I suddenly need to be exactly the height of an Sp404mk2 taller than I currently am?
Is this pre or post update
wowwwwwwwwwww
It seems like you have to memorize all of these actions. Am I missing something, or is this machine just not very intuitive?
