  • Oli's paediatrician called back to update me on the outcome of all the questionnaires, their conversations with school and the meeting she had. I'm genuinely confused by the outcome and don't know exactly where we are but we feel a lot further on...

If he has the official ADHD diagnosis that should mean you can start the process of getting an EHCP if that is a path you want to go down, it’s good you have some answers and hopefully the autism evaluation will happen soon!

Hoping so. Slightly worried about what an EHCP will give. Eg a TA could be detrimental. Not sure what to expect.

Very happy to hear that Oli is being helped. Hopefully they are following up on him because of his age. Help now should make a world of difference for him. Things are moving fast now, but there are sure to be set backs also. Just as long as you keep after everyone, Oli will have the best chance to get the help he will need. Now you will have to find out what kind of help will be best for him. I have a good feeling that this is going to work out very nicely for Oli. 🇺🇸

Thank you fingers crossed you’re right. The school are joining in some of my random things that work which is nice. Asking him the same things I’m asking so that he remembers consistently throughout the day.

Thats good news, you will be able to access help for Oli, if school and home questionnaires are similar ADHD seems to be diagnosed fairly quick. In my experience you will now have to go and find info and courses to go on, they dont fine you. Things are moving now which is good the earlier the better for Oli.

If you can join a parent/carers group near you, the only thing is the coffee mornings tend to be 10-12 which if you work is not great. I went to a course run by autism Peterborough a while ago and it was really good, you just have to search alot.
