    Had a problem years ago, a group of anti-hunters came into the woods with pots and pans banging them, one phone call to the DEP and we had Game Wardens and State Police, 21 people were arrested for Hunter Harassment !!! What a beautiful day !!!

      We had the exact same thing decades ago in PA. It was more than 25 people.
      Best. Deer. Drive. Ever.
      Game wardens came and ticketed all of them for conducting a drive of over 25 people and conducting a drive without a license. That was back before hunter harassment laws were a thing.

    As a landowner, I would write down the names of the people who have permission to hunt, write my "rules" and time frame, along with my name and phone number. So many times I have caught folks hunting my property and then when asked who they got permission from they say the owner. They go pale when I tell them I own the property. Having the landowner's written permission gives you a leg up to those who say "we have permission". Also, time frame is important, saying yes and then 3 years later is not valid permission. Love your video!

    Years ago I was hunting with a friend of mine on a property that he’s hunted , so one day we were hunting on the property and 2 hunter’s and the Game Warden came up to us and asked us if we had permission to hunt the property and we said yes and then he asked us for our hunting license we gave it to him and then things got a little heated because the other hunter’s we’re saying that the owner that gave us permission to hunt there didn’t own the property but we were like we just talked to the owner last night and I’m like I can end this situation quickly by calling the owner up and the other 2 hunter’s were like there’s no reason to call him and I’m like why if he doesn’t own the property we will gladly pay the fines ,So I pulled out my phone and then they panicked and the Game Warden started noticing this and let me and my hunting partner go and kept the other 2 hunter’s there .

    We were public hunting a shallow lake once, there were 4 of us and 2 of them, we started building blinds at 0100 they didn’t arrive until 0500. They had a boat and didn’t bother to brush anything in. We were nearly invisible. These guys came in and started picking up our decoys while we snoozed waiting for first light. When we woke up, I swear they pissed themselves. We were in high school, they were at least in their 50’s… after some strong words from both sides, we got our dekes back, and started the hunt as they headed out and trolled along the shoreline about 2 miles away working their way back to our spread. 8 o’clock rolls around and wouldn’t you know it, they snuck up behind us. We were on the point of the only island on the lake. Had a good sized flock come in, they opened fire and sky busted. No one got anything that round. They sky busted 2 more times, then a group of green heads came in low and they purposely swung and peppered the hell out of us…. Wardens were called, haven’t seen them ever since.

Same name(Jr. and Sr.) we got permission from Sr. (Actual owner) ended up hunting with them, not the best experience, they didn’t want us to use our calls or decoys, but the best we could do with the circumstances, they were friends with (Jr.) the son.

      Honkers usually have to be called in and they circle a few times before they commit to land. When assholes set up inside of 200 yards - because they're assholes - they'll either try to call the birds off of your decoy spread or sky bust them (shoot while the birds are too high) it always happens. Ethical hunters will either come back another day or ask to join you if there aren't too many of them. It also depends on how big the field is, if it's more than 500 acres there's generally enough room for everyone. Don't set up right next to someone else. It's annoying and dangerous.

I knew that was a lie because I came out the night before, put the birds to bed, then I stayed out in the field ALL night. They set up 300 yards away, first few groups of birds came to our decoys and we shot 15 or so, then as other flocks were flying towards us the other group would get out of their blinds and hoot and holler and flare the birds, then they got their trucks and started ripping around the field. Totally ruined the hunt, and a-hole "hunters" like that give every sportsman a bad name. We've always tried to hunt with people like you did and guys that drive in the field always ruin permission for fields. But on another note ive hunted local.fields since I was a young boy and I've had out of town guys try to tell me they have permission and not me at the end of the day i wish farmers would only let one group hav permission

    My property is not conducive to a goose hunt. Most often it is used for Deer and Turkey. I post the land, which in my state can be done with signage or a paint stripe. This requires hunters to have written permission. I also give my neighbor, who hunts it most often, power of stewardship for hunting and recreation. This allows him to revoke usage permission at his discretion.

    If you could create a single hunter by combining the IQ of dudes overcalling and flaring committed birds with the shooting talent of the last guy, you’d have the Michael Jordan of bad hunters. So many animals would be spared

    That's how it is trying to hunt public in Washington state lol. I have had countless times where I get there early and then some people show up at dawn and sky bust decoying birds.

    I’ve been experiencing a lot of hunter harassment lately with goose hunting and late season fishing. I expect more since waterfowl is upcoming along with bow season and then gun season. Is anybody else’s wife like this?

    Unfortunately public hunting lands are shrinking and thus less hunters buying licenses. States like Texas are 98% private leaving those with money to lease land. Many states now are tied up with hunting clubs and leases.

    Back in the late 80's I had built a duck blind up a shallow bayou. Arrived one morning and guys were pitching decoys in front of it & I told them it was my blind, I built it if they wanted to hunt go build your own and don't try to push someone out of their own blind.
    They said it was 1st come 1st serve..........so I told them I could hunt over their decoys or mine, didn't matter to me and I got in my blind before they did.........so 1st come 1st serve.
    They picked up their decoys and left.
    Found out later from a Game Warden I hunted with that if I put my name on the blind the 1st come 1st serve baloney doesn't matter, its my blind....so I carved my last name into it.
    At least in this State, yours may be different.

    Last year I beat a group to a hole on public land by foot and they were in a duck boat. It was only like my second duck hunt so I realized if anyone had a chance to kill birds we had to work together. Ended up making a friend out of it. I haven’t had a situation yet where hunters weren’t polite but I was scared at first cuz I had to cross a slough to get there.

  • @tombishop8083

    Not harassment just idiocy. That friend in the second hunt needs to shoot a bit of skeet in the off-season. Oh, and super full choke at 10 yards?

    I just absolutely love it when you pay good money to get a lease or you knock on doors and get permission from the landowner to hunt that land and some other guys come by thinking they're entitled to do whatever the hell they damn well want and mess up your hunt.

    • @scottnunan4927
      @scottnunan4927 Рік тому

      Huh? Those guys had permission just like them. They had every right to be there. This wasn't "hunter harassment" at all, but the guys were dicks for not just working it out and setting up together. Easy solution. These are the kinds of interactions that result in no one being able to hunt that property anymore.

    • @User-nx7rs
      @User-nx7rs Рік тому

      @@scottnunan4927 exactly they should have set up together or went to the opposite side of the property, not 100 yards away.
