I thought the small pot you made to begin with would go fantastically in the middle of this creation to create a two tier effect of flowers. Love your work and watching you. I like it when you talk through it though. Keep up the great work.

I personally got a lot out of the build. I see all the elements of time, knowledge and skill. I’m just amazed by what can be accomplished without a wheel.

I love how neatly you work. So precise in such an imprecise medium. Gives me hope. ❤️ I am curious... why didn’t you put a small coil inside the bottom opening to attach it? Maybe that’s a method for beginners? This is a great project! Also, how do you fire your stuff? Did you make a kiln? Or buy one? My dream is to someday have a work area like yours. I’ve been smitten by clay.☺️

Barnes Creations Thank you for your input. I have plenty of videos where I speak plenty. Sometimes I work and film it and people want to watch it. These videos are easier for me as well. I do this ALL free of charge so not having to put all the effort of explaining and editing helps me AND you.

Thank you for sharing this video! Beautiful work! This is a refreshing tutorial, and a very creative planter. I think slab work is underrated. I love the stencil...is that a place mat? I have seen them by me, but not that detailed or with the scalloped edge. Could you please share where you found that? Thank you! 😊

Is your slip clay/water or clay/vinegar? .... Ha. I was wondering why you didn't turn up the base more to start with, but it lets you get at the bottom of the sides while attaching. Smart lady! :-) .... But - Aha! It is a plant pot with attached dish! Clever! Thanks for the watch! :-)

I need help desperately. I just tried my hand at air dry clay today it had a really bad smell to it and then no matter how much water I used it stuck to any object I tried it on to mold a shape. Plastic and metal and it would get stuck and not come off easily. Did I bet the wrong clay? Is it a bad brand maybe or technique can someone help me please? I was so excited to try it.

    • @kathypotter3269

Clay will stick and the wetter it is the more it will stick. Sprinkle cornstarch over your clay before you place it on your mold or cover your mold with plastic.
