A quick overview of what BoxTurtle is and basics on how it operates. More info and links to kits are here: github.com/Arm... Reach me robertklotz@armoredturtle.com
I cannot express enough how much I appreciate you and your team's work on this project. This is fantastic for DIY enthusiasts. Keep up the good work and know that your efforts are making a real impact. You are changing the game and giving our community more options in 3D printing. Thank you for continuing to innovate!
Seeing someone recreating the BambuLab AMS makes me really happy. I just wondered yesterday why nobody does it and now I see your video! AND it's even reliable and ready to be built. Just wow! Mate you're awesome!
On dryers and storage. Nice work. Just entered the game, ordered P1S. Dunno if my problem is relevant but I feel to be interested in combined AMS+dryer+storage box. I have noticed in drying clothes etc. that a simple fan helps a lot. I guess air circulations rotates more molecules for the water whatnot. So, a dryer of my dreams would have: 1) a bit of air circulation with a fan 2) some heating 3) some (occasional) inside-ambient air exchange. I wonder 4)- if 1) & 3) could use the same fan (to simplify)? 5)- if 3) could be passive or minimal, akin to grid +flap structure which would open the exchange when 4) blows? I feel the needed flow is 1) > 3) i.e. only minimal 3) is needed. Also, dunno if solutions already exist. Thanks. Nice project! You have mentioned testing Nema 17s for extruders. I personally have ton of 17 motors which I would like to use with my Turtle box and before re-making extruders was interested if there is a chance you could share STLs or STEP files? Thank you!
How well the extruders in the turtle handle abrasive filaments? Are they good for carbon and glass reinforced? Or at least for abrasive-ish filaments like glow in dark?
Man I want it lol, only thing I want later is heated dry enclosure and maybe rfid but damn I love it. I wonder how complete the kits will be and how much solder type work will be needed, I don't love that part of open source stuff much anymore lol.
Could this auto load and unload my 6 tool head tapchanger for me? If you built a 6 spool turtle of course. Would it require some software changes is really the question.
Most of my printers have Dragon and Rapid Burner toolheads, are these going to be computable with the BoxTurtle? I am not sure if I can put cutters on these toolheads. What configuration aka amount of spool is going to be in range for the BoxTurtle in a single unit, 2-4? What parts needed per spool? How can I intergrade an encoder to detect clogs/tangles etc with this setup? Currently all my printers have BTT SFS V2 and I can't afford to run my printers without it. It saved me a lot of problems and money. This is an amazing project. Keep it up! ✨
So, InfiniteSpool will fail lane T0 to the next lane with filament. In this case, that is T2. Great. What happens when T2 runs out? Will it fail back to T0? Is it possible to launch a 5Kg print without having to stop?
You pick wich spool is loaded next, the screen cap didn't pick up the drop downs for whatever reason. You can map as many spools as you have. If they're all exhausted it will pause the print. But yes you could set your last infinite spool to go back to T0
Theres a few universal extruders that work with both 1.75 and 2.85 mm filament. I often use more 2.85 but enjoy the flexibility of both on my machines.
Reply with any more questions and I will make sure they are covered in detail in the near future.
How does this setup manage TPU and flexibles? Difficulty in integrating with Peopoly's Magneto?

Toolhead sensor and cutter are not a requirement, but nice to have.
Could a cutter be added at filament exit of the box where the lines join?

That Klipper Theme!!!!!!! 😱I really can't wait for the enclosure and/or incorporating a Polydryer. Can't wait to build it!!!
@7:15 the turtle puking RGB is genius
This is so infinitely better than ERCF haha. I can't wait to build it!
Been watching from the side lines for a while. You guys are fucking mad awesome. You make the world a better place.
Finished up my build today. Just gotta rebuild the tool head and I’m ready to test it out!
Hands down the coolest project I have seen!
I have a unit ordered from LDO looking forward to using it. Thank you for all of the hard work!!
Awesome work ! looking forward to seeing more, love the buffer spacing for less drag. Keep up the great work...
I am so excited to make this one for my Voron! Mah baby will not be complete without it!
Slava Ukraini.
@@802Garage Geroyam Slava!
I wonder if you can use the ratio of how much filament is being used and how fast the spools are moving to estimate how much is left on the spool.

best cool changer I've used so far, looking forward to what the team has in the pipeline for 2025.
Great work! I have he ldo kit on order, looking to connect it to a ratrig.
Ordered the kit from Fabreeko/LDO. Can't wait to get this thing on my Voron!
Very awesome progress. This is exciting
Great job, I'm looking forward to helping out with this.
The rubber tire @7:15 are not ready to buy yet?
Also what board I can use to make a 2 spool filament changer?
Will there be kits for more than 4 colors?
What filament cutter can be used and how is it connected to the BoxTurtle?
Is there any way that these can work with the Polymaker dryboxes? Or any drybox for that matter?
Hello..Is there a cutter for the filament when colors are being changed?
This is really cool, instant subscribe
Can you show how you merge two BTs into the printer?
assuming i made the physical changes to the space, do you think the m20 motors could handle 3kg or 5kg?
A slash through the infinity symbol would be a little more obvious IMHO. Especially if turned grey instead of red.
All you are missing now is weighting the spools and nfc tag reading
But hats off to the team for all the hard work on the Box Turtle
How well the extruders in the turtle handle abrasive filaments? Are they good for carbon and glass reinforced? Or at least for abrasive-ish filaments like glow in dark?
How does this system handle TPU feeding? is this something that can be configured to work with Peopoly's Magneto?
How do you add the multiple Box turtles to the printer or add additional lanes to the BT the PCB only appeared to manage 4 motors?
Any filament combiner works fine, we’re working on a group of accessories like that on our GitHub. As for the boards, usb or can bus to each unit
I see some printed parts kits are coming with ABS as most parts (not tires or clear), is that necessary? Or could it be printed in PETG?
awesome design, I plan to build one but I dont know if its compatible with my K1 Max ? How does the printer and the box communicate together ?
should work if you run klipper
spaghetti box on ercf has made me fall out
Man I want it lol, only thing I want later is heated dry enclosure and maybe rfid but damn I love it. I wonder how complete the kits will be and how much solder type work will be needed, I don't love that part of open source stuff much anymore lol.
The LDO kit there's no soldering etc required it's all plug and play wiring
@@Krautech Where to get more info about LDO Kit ?
I wish you can get this to work on a prusa mk4s.

Does it or will it work with Spoolman? Is there any type of cutter?
with or without spoolman.
What happens if you try to reload filiment into the AFC mid print?

There is a filament cutter available for the Dragonburner, I believe by the author of the toolhead himself.
how this setup with TPU?

@@Armored_Turtle-RK Thank you! I appreciate the response, as well as the great work you are doing.
what about toolhead what do we need for it?
Prusa printer support please! Not sure if it's even possible though.
I do not own a prusa, it can likely be done though. Software...
to use AFC-Klipper-Add-On, you would need to flash klipper to the prusa mcu.
Does this work with 2.85 filament?
the extruders and sensors were made with 1.75mm in mind.
That would be an interesting mod, but unfortunately there isn't much hardware available for 2.85 filaments.

Amazing, Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely an amazing product.. But out of reach in terms of cost for me.

What Can bus board do you recommend for the AFC-Lite?
