  • A CRUCIFIED MESSIAH: Is that in the Jewish Bible? - with Rabbi Eli Cohen
    To make the Tanach (The Jewish Bible) appear full of references to Jesus, Christian writers have resorted to mis-translating some critical Hebrew words. Therefore, not only should Jews be aware of the manipulation found in the New Testament, but we should also be wary of Christian mis-translations of the Hebrew Bible.
    For example in Psalm 22:17 (Christian mis-translation)
    For dogs have surrounded me; the assembly of the wicked have encircled me; they pierced my hands and my feet.
    From this Christian translation of the Hebrew Bible, it appears that this Psalm speaks about someone whose hands and feet are pierced. These words could lead someone to believe that the Psalm is alluding to Jesus. However, during the Roman occupation, tens of thousands of Jews were crucified, and Psalm 22:17 does not identify any specific person, including Jesus.
    Versus Psalm 22:17 (Correct Jewish translation)
    For dogs have surrounded me; the assembly of the wicked have encircled me, like a lion [they are at] my hands and my feet.
    This Jewish translation of Psalm 22:17 renders כארי ka’ari, the Hebrew word in question, as “like a lion” and not as “they pierced.” King David wrote this passage to describe the travails of his life - it is not a messianic prophecy. In verses 14 and 22, David refers allegorically to those who pursue him as lions (see also Psalm 7:3). In all other places where כארי ka’ari is found in the Hebrew Scriptures, Christian translations render it correctly as “like a lion” (Numbers 24:9, Isaiah 38:13, Ezekiel 22:25).

    JEWS FOR JUDAISM is an outreach organization whose primary goal is to win back to Judaism those Jews who have been influenced by the following six threats to Jewish survival that are devastating the global Jewish community.
    1. Hebrew-Christian missionaries convert thousands of Jews worldwide every year
    2. Destructive cults cause many Jews to abandon family, friends and careers
    3. Eastern religions, Buddhism and Hinduism are spiritual choices for many Jews
    4. Apathy and ignorance leave many Jews unaware, unaffiliated and assimilated
    5. Intermarriage is exploding with a 75% rate in some North American cities
    6. Anti-Israel BDS on campus inhibits Jewish students from standing up for Israel and Judaism
    To assist non-Jews who have left other religions, JEWS FOR JUDAISM also provides educational programs to help them embrace the Torah’s Seven Noachide Laws for Gentiles.
    We achieve our goals through our worldwide Internet outreach, Social Media, free educational programs, educational literature and counseling services that connect Jewish people to the spiritual depth, beauty and wisdom of Judaism.
    “I am so grateful to have discovered the wonderful Jews for Judaism UA-cam lectures by Rabbi Skobac. I am a Jew who converted to Christianity in college, but now, thanks to your online outreach, I have returned to Judaism. Thank you.” - Rebecca G.

    I'm beginning to enjoy listening to Rabbis telling their side of the story. As compared to Christian teachings. Each time I listen to two Rabbis on this channel, I usually can't stop listening to them until the end of their lectures. You don't have to be a Jew, to appreciate the lectures. I have learned, there are 24 Books in the Jewish Bible, as compared to 39 Books of the Old Testament in the Christian Bible. The New Testament contains 27 Books.

    The Hebrew in the description is reversed because of the weird formatting issue of aligning Hebrew and English in the same line.

    16Dogs surround me,
    a pack of villains encircles me;
    they PARALYZED my hands and my feet.
    17All my bones are on display;
    people stare and gloat over me.
    18They divide my clothes among them
    and cast lots for my garment.
    Psalm 22 is talking about Shoah.

    Altering expectations? It’s clear you’ve never read the new covenant. Read it twice.

      Why does Jesus need a 2nd coming? Because he didn’t do a thing the 1st time he was here. Calling Jesus a phony is calling a spade a spade.

      There never was a new covenant. What part of Hashem is immortal is not clear? Immortal means he cannot die which means that there could not be a full god and a fully man god together that could save anyone. If your jesus died for your sins then he was not part of an immortal god. He really never died and that defeated the purpose. Hashem says he is not a man nor the son of man, pretty clear. christianity makes Hashem, who is the creator of everything, look weak and helpless to care for his creation. If you are in christianity it is time you look into the Noahide laws and ruin from their pagan idol, he cannot save you or anyone. Hashem is our only redeemer and savior, he is the power to save or destroy.
