You have achieved critical mass. TP paint them, your should probably use a spray paint that holds to plastic. It will apply an even enough coat that hides the layers, but doesn't smother the details on the soldiers.
@@NimProductions Yeah, but just buy some. Any tool shop or whatever seems them, once you have a can life becomes so much easier. You will be like "Hey, this thing is pretty great! Why didn't i do it sooner? That's Great!"
Thanks for putting up this detailed vid. As a toy designer and art teacher (!), I too was amazed to find that nobody is printing their Green Army Men. I mean with the Toy Story movies out, even LEGO made their variant... I was surprised to see that Netflix' "The Toys That Made Us" hasn't covered the classic Bucket of Soldiers yet. Probably a phenomenon of our time where slaughtering zombies in a game is ok but a warped "gun" the size of half a matchstick is sending parents into panic mode. BTW: great approach to problem-solving! ...
As someone who used to play with lead and tin armymen, and later the plastic armymen, I love this. And yeah, for future reference most teachers in that area don't help much, it's a thing that is mostly trail and error. I took CAD in college, and it's basically the same. XD
Thx for putting in the time and effort to 3D model the army men over if you can’t print them. I will be printing them if I can (my local libraries have 3D printers people can use for free) so thx a lot
I think a good idea for 3d printing Army Men would be 3d printing the characters from the 3DO Army Men series like Sargent Hawk, General Plastro, and more 👌
For the complex STL files that you couldn’t open in tinkercad, often/sometimes it’s possible to reduce the polygon count in a mesh editor without degrading its appearance. I use meshlab, meshmixer can probably do it too. Once you’ve reduced the polygon count enough tinkercad should be able to handle it.
People think I like playing with army men like dolls. I DON'T LIKE PLAYING WITH THEM BUT MAKING FILMS. Their feeble minds just don't understand. Edit: thx for th likes (the most i ever got)
Thanks for sharing. I'm new to 3D sculpting and printing. I would recommend that you prime the figures first, before painting them with acrylics. Cheers!
Everyone in my school knows the fact that I have army men and they say, "bruh this is the kid with his little soldiers!". So I just respond with something simple. (One of the lines i used) "well, I mean EVERYONE has to have a great hobby right?"
Ya know if you bole them in very hot water they soften enough to change most pose’s. Then run under cold water . To stiffen the figure into new pose. 3D printer looks like fun to make new poses. But what you really need are better quality plastic toy soldiers. Those your using are knock-offs of the better ones. But your not crazy 😜. Lots of people are into the hobby. Cool video 👍🏿
Now I think I’m going to buy a 3D printer. (Don’t worry I’ll use it for lots of other things too) and some glossy paint. Maybe in the future I’ll get a 3D pen to help clean up the soldiers seams myself. Any good suggestion on a printer? I don’t want to spend a lot as I’ll only be printing small things like this.
I have experience painting plastic soldiers, you must get the figs printed first with printing paint or other hard paints with spirits base in order to paint with the acrylics smoothly.
I wonder if I could design a way to make the guns interchangeable and maybe even joints on the soldiers. Or maybe I could design accessories for them too.
I just realised you were using the Finnish song "säkkijärven polkka" for the background music and to that I say IS THIS A MADAFLIPIN WINTER WAR REFERENCE!
Two things 1: do you want to some how trade army men 2: do you want to some how make a stop motion film together I know its stupid but cool I need more solders And would be cool to make a movie
I play with 3d modling all the time, and its really not as hard as you make it out to be. If you think making armymen is hard, then you are going probably the high poly route, rather then the low poly. Poly is polygons, or how many vertices are with in the mesh. with 3d animation, its fairly easy to make stuff. It just takes practice. If you think something is hard, its just because you haven't practiced enough and learned the functionality of the program you work with.
Learn blender man, it's hard at the start, but when you get use to it, you can pose and position any character you want the right way. By the way you made me lough, and I just want to say, I think my family thinks of me the same way, but makers make, not matter what. Keep it up.
Couldn't you print models of any soldier if they're going to be painted? I'm sure there's a large selection of non Army Men soldiers that can be printed and painted green/tan etc
From an arcade when I was like 10, I got lots of tickets from the arcade until I saw the army men toys that it would cost 5 tickets, guess what me and my cousin, but 100 of them is that crazy or what 😳
Owning a 3D printer is harder than using someone elses. Its a PAIN to make sure the bed is constantly level to stop failed prints. Or maybe thats just me.
This is a comment from five euros later but I love this video so much and I’ve been watching this channel for 10 years or something like that but just so you know you don’t have to use a plastic army men model you can use a basic human model and then download props like helmets, guns and other equipment and then scale it to size you can find a lot more human models than army men models that are free if you’re on a budget, I actually did this by using a Donald Trump model, cutting its hair off and replacing it with a helmets and then giving it weapons in a backpack

Use acrylic paint
"I recommend not trying to print tanks"
Says the guy who litterally recreated the M60 boley tank like this is incredible how you have improved so much
time to make an army of soldiers now
You have really inspired my son Crosley. He loves your channel, wants to make army men videos and wants us to make our own army men with a 3D printer.
Cool
Same here

Keep filming

the "nazi toy sodliers' are actually british and thier by steve weston toy soldiers
oscar vizcarra innit, that actually really annoys me they've labelled it that tbh

Not bothered what anyone says about your vid I learned more about 3d printers from your vid than all the others I have watched thank you.
Thats my dream to make my own army men. Nice video toy soldiers fan!
Teacher: no guns
Also teacher: Drunk russian with vodka is ok
the grenadier is by a company called matchbox its in the us infantry set(1;32)
This video is educational and hilarious👍🏼 Great video brother
Myth. Your army men are excessive.
Fact. This channel is underated

2:43 fun fact that happened to me too but it was sketch up is harder

I know but it was a little too complex to included into the video but i know u can do it

I printed the normal guy, and it was awesome!

Warrior 347 Studios I know
Thx
Warrior 347 Studios I have been told, “ no more army men buying this month”, and when I go to the store “no” lol
Yep
Army men stop Motion Films oh your here also
The fact you made that on tinker cad astounds me
Some of these army men look way different than the ones I grew up playing. Mine were the generic old 1950s models with the Korean war era poses

Stay you man i support you all the way
I have a question nim what did you’re going to do with the armymen with guns?
I could print them if I get a printer
Nim Productions but those army men are in the file?
One of them
Nim Productions thank you
i legit thought about this during school and now this was in my recomended
“The next thing is to add stands”

I’d say the ender 3
You made many in one, your smart i never think about that
The background music is good lol. Jazzy Erika and British Grenadiers.

👍
Green Army Forever!
Thank you for showing me how I love this video
Great video. Not going to lie if I had access to a 3d printer I would do this. School teacher can be strange beasts.
me too
Yo comrade, you can change their position by melting them for abstract positions like falling out of a tank etc, hope this helps!

I need the WHOLE WORLD OF ARMY MEN
Army Men Productions you can’t have mine!
I have 300 to 1000 army men
Very well made video
Nice job dude!
That is why legos are so amazing for stop motion films
But they are more time consuming to film
*Tries to 3D model an army man*
Teacher: *sees un-realistic gun*
Student: *Gets called down to the guidance office*
I was reading comments about you doing a 3d printing army men video
Just now
It’s a good idea, maybe company’s could sell the model right and a person could make there own using the right
you should make a file with all the base parts of the "grenadier" so people can make them easier.
Teacher: you can’t make toy army men with guns
Me: Oh Sorry I just thought this was AMERICA!
Alright if you say I can’t make a tank I’m gonna 3d print a KV-2, Katyusha rocket launcher and KV-6
You should make casualty figures for all sides
I just realised you were using the Finnish song "säkkijärven polkka" for the background music and to that I say

It's funny I was think about this the other day in my 3d printing class
Good memories.... the Type Of Vids I watched
can you upload your soldiers, i wanna print them without wasting all the time creating them.
Your good at this!
Please make a new version of this video
I worked tinkercad when I was in my robotics school and I printed a tiger tank
Cool
Nim Productions yeah but sadestly it was pretty bad printed and it wasn’t the correct scale :/
🤷♂️
1:05 I hate these soldiers🤣. Amazing video bro
the stop animation is so cool...and funny.
we can all agree they are great for playing AND film
Yes
I do poses but I don’t quite know the best ones
I'm also obsessed with those
I make films with army men but I have not made one in quite a while. But it’s cool and my younger brother likes them lmao.
This video is so funny! Good sense of modern humour...
I got a soldier poses that are so good!
is the girls und panzer theme in the background or am i crazy
U aren’t
