Everyone saying Vekic choked obviously didn’t watch the match. Danilovic was mentally unbreakable - she just refused to be beaten in the important moments. Astonishing mental toughness from her.
she still did choke tho.... it's clear example of choking..coming from someone who likes Danilovic more than Donna
@@aboubakarWP It doesn’t matter who you like. Donna hit lots of winners and made a lot of UEs throughout the match - typical of an aggressive flat-hitting baseliner. She didn’t play any worse at the end of the match than she did at any other point. She had leads and a number of chances to win the match, and Danilovic took them away from her.

Danilovic showed great heart throughout, coming back from a first set bagel and from being a break down several times in the final set as well as down 6-2 on the tiebreak.

Danilovic is incredibly impressive. She doesn’t have a lot of natural talent, but her mental toughness rivals that of all the top players. The only point in the whole match she was in the lead was at 9-8 in the final set tiebreak. She spent the whole match playing catch up and not letting Vekic cross the finish line.
Amazing fight, determination and focus - I’ll certainly be rooting for her to go further! I don’t know if she is good enough to beat Vondrousova in R4 but who knows?
mental toughness to rival top players? that is not true, Donna did badly, Olga would catch up then start making errors. She did good to win today but top player nowhere near that. I believe she doesnt work hard enough, physically she needs muscle.

Danilović has always had a lot of potential and still has. But always lacked in the mental aspect to get to the top. Add some injuries to that and the road will always be a long and tough one. I hope she will be able to finally fix the mental part to at least reach the highs Tipsarević reached. Tipsy's body didn't endure what it takes to be an absolute top player but he had a respectable career with some stints in the top 10.
