I saw this performance at the time it was done (on TV.) 34 years later I still think it's one of the most beautiful routines I've ever seen.

Beautiful, simply beautiful, puts me in tears. Great, and continue to pass on your teachings to bring out fantastic skaters like you! Thanks for the joy of this video.

I was there in Windsor after his mother died. I dont know how he could have skated to it. I was in second row and I had tears in my eyes. I recently lost my mom, I could not have done it. He is our best.

I believe he once did this performance and dedicated it to his mother. It's truly beautiful. A classic from the greatest period of figure skating. All the great skaters, mostly friends, all cheering each other on. It's not like that anymore.

Still one of the greatest skaters the world has ever seen. And now one of the greatest coaches.

Without a doubt one of the best male skaters EVER! He was and still is one of the view who appreciates the little things in skating.

Brian is one of my all time favorite skaters, and this is one of my all time favorite skating programs. So poignant - we were lucky to see him skate to it in the 1988 COI tour and in 1998 SOI. What a privilege to see Brian skate live through the years, too!

You said it...on this tour I saw him at the old Richfield Coliseum in northeast Ohio, which has been torn down and now reverted to a meadow...I'd like to think that meadow still resonates with the memory of performances like this one. One thing I am sure of, my mind resonates with memories of all Brian's wonderful performances that I have seen, and always will.

❤first time ever having such an effect with anyone skating... usually impressed or proud for them- but THIS was a pleasure, a visceral meaningful affectionate performance that touched my soul somehow- wow, deeply felt the mood- His classy performance is worth watching over & over again... with the song that clarified the tone. Been a while but honored to have seen this aesthetically, athletically, emotionally, blessed talent ~such perfection !!

Just FYI -- this isn't from the Olympics -- it's from the tour of Olympic and World Champions from '88. ABC televised this -- I believe -- in the months following the Olympics. I forget which city they are in (Baltimore/Landover?) There's some funny/poignant footage at the end where they show the skaters on the bus traveling to their next town. Some skaters are sleeping while Liz Manley and Brian Boitano gang up on Christopher Bowman and hit him in the face with a pie. Memorable stuff.
