I've listened to this album thousands of times and still do to this day.....including most music made by Uncle Lou. As soon as the first strum of Heroin begins, I get an immediate eerie feeling that takes me back to the years I spent injecting. Every note and word of that song is so real it also reminds me that I'm OUT of that life and very grateful.
Stripey... Tanks again for this first play and review. Indeed a record one should have in a record/cd collection. I owned it on vinyl. Lost it somewhere along the way. I think it is not an easy album to listen to. The mood you're in is an important factor to listen to it and really enjoy it. I haven't listened to it in a long time, but I will do it again somewhere in the coming days. Yeah.....on cd, because the vinyl is ?????. Thanks again and looking forward for your next video, ramble, 1st play.
where is the Nico stuff then, Do I have a deluxe edition or something? I mean, Chelsea Girls, Wrap your troubles in dreams, Winter song and Little Sister are bloody brilliant, I'd recommend 'em very much......Chelsea Girls specially is just *moah* perfect
Hay up Stripey, The velvet underground and nico, one of my favourites!. such a classic!. please check out Lou Reed and his Transformer album. It's a great album, and I think Bowie did some work with him on that. I'm sorry I can't remember. Just wondering if your still gonna get some Doors albums on vinyl mate?. Or even some Marc Bolan?. Thanks for the great videos mate. I watch everyone, keep them coming. I'm sorry I don't always find time to comment. respect. Venus In Furs is probably my favorite of that album too!. Remember on the Doors film when Andy Warhol passes the phone to Jim Morrison saying God wants to say hi.
I have transformer on cd... great album! I am gonna get most of the doors at some point & some T-Rex! Venus in Furs is amazing & I remember that scene in the movie! cheers Ben
Stripey Rambles I’ve recently been getting more into psychedelic music and somebody recommended it to me, I got their first album “the psychedelic sounds of” on amazon for £17 it’s a double vinyl, you get the original mono mix and a stereo mix that has the bands original track order, id say it’s a must have if you like your psychedelic music 👍
Great video as always! This is one of my favorite records of all time. Can’t wait to see your new Tom Waits videos. Question. Are you a Nick Cave fan? He’s another one of my favorites. If you haven’t, you should definitely check him out. Cheers
Great two lp you got . Ok for the next lp I have see it a lot but don't know that much about it ... Very nice packaging !!! . The lp dos look very nice . Thank you for the great review on this lp. Good to see you matt . I hope that all is well take care all the best to my friend :}.
I have a few new albums to play (now I gotta find the time to play them & record a video) This album is worth a listen, mate, it's a classic! Take care Beatle Brad keep up the great videos pal
How does this record sound? I know it says it’s remastered from the original tapes, but was it done well? I’ve been considering getting this copy that you have but I wanna make sure it’s a good sounding record. Thanks!
White Light White Heat is the same line up as the Warhol album so worth a punt, if only for Sister Ray!!.... Also if you get it now it comes with 2 bonus tracks not on the original album. Loaded is available on GOLD vinyl which is the version i have, this is worth getting as it has the UNCUT version of Sweet Jane on it replacing a complete verse which was edited out on the original release. from the third album onwards they changed their sound as they had Doug Yule on bass and vocals and co-song writing. I've never been a fan, and I truly believe he bled the heart out of the Velvet's once he started to take centre stage on vocals. The third album is brilliant as although he's on the album, Doug Yule hasn't yet started to ruin the band. Loaded is great and even Doug's songs are worth a listen (Except maybe Lonesome Cowboy Bill... It's really not very good) but Loaded is worth it for Lou Reeds material alone. Squeeze is awful.... Doug Yule and a few session musicians (One of which was Ian Paice of Deep Purple on drums). Give it a wide berth..... It's sh*t. LOL

Lou is a legend mate & this album is a gem! cheers for watching pal
Superb album. I didn't hear it 'til I was about 22 years old and it blew me away.
A mate lent me this and the Sugar Beaster EP. So glad he did.

@@StripeyR yeah check out Loaded. Who loves the sun? Ba ba ba baaaa etc
It did not celebrate nor criticise heroin use.
Nice video my favourite album ever
So.... White Light White Heat next then??
Seems so, Andy! cheers for watching

I've heard some of The 13th Floor Elevators but not much, I'll check out one of their albums. Cheers pal

It doesn't celebrate heroid use. You shold actually read "Heroin"'s lyrics.
Steer well clear of Squeeze The Velvet Underground though...... It's truly awful, and not really the Velvet Underground.
Everyone's saying avoid Squeeze Andy, White Light/White Heat next I think or Loaded cheers for watching

Did you exchange that sandpaper sheet of a sleeve for a MOFI sleeve?
No but I do need too

This vinyl is a horrible pressing.
As well as your turntable setup.
Sorry but both true...
