13:54 It was nice to meet you out there at Slide Rock! Just wish knuckles could of got in lol. We're still hiking and traveling the US give me a shout if you want to join! Safe travels.
Hey Jordan!!! You're in my childhood stomps!! My Aunt's family were the first white settlers in Oak Creek Canyon and owned over 300 acres. They sold it a long time ago. I'm 61 now, and we used to go there all summer long, and to Grass Hopper Point, other places along the creek. The water comes down from the snow and ice melt on the San Fransisco Mountains north of Flagstaff. If you go in the spring, and go to the Main Library, there is a park that has the Rio de Flag stream that comes from the mountains, to the City Pond by Flagstaff Jr. High School, then goes through town and then down Oak Creek. Lots of people go kayaking on it. A REAL DESERT river that you'll find lots of stuff is in the Salt River outsde Phoenix. Huge tubber fleets spend all day floating down the Salt. Check it out! Nancy
I want the Dior glasses because if they look that good on you it has to look amazing on me or maybe it's your natural beauty when wearing the glasses and I wanna look swaggy like you 😂 I love your videos.
@@krmulliger Hi! Thanks for your comment. Growing up in beautiful Flagstaff, and having Oak Creek as a summer play ground😃 was so great! I really miss it! Have a fun summer!
Dude, I need some free sunglasses ASAP! The sun's so bright, I tried to apply sunscreen to my shadow yesterday. I even mistook a mailbox for a tanning booth and wondered why my mail was getting crispy. Help a suffering dude out before I end up frying eggs on my bald spot and calling it breakfast!
its water runoff from the Rockys. When the snows melt from the mountain tops is fuels all the rivers. Literally ice water as it travels down. Once it gets to the larger rivers it begins to warm up, but these smaller streams and waterfalls are literally ice cold. I know I went to the falls at half dome and I almost couldn't breathe because the air and water mixture was so cold it was shocking my lungs. It was wild, never experienced anything like it before.
Oak creek is recharging from the Mogollon Rim, it percolates through the Coconino Sandstone. You are swimming where it fractures along the fault line. Science
Incorrect. The water that flows through Oak Creek Canyon, starts from springs bubbling up water from the Mogollon Ridge. The Rocky Mountains, have nothing to do with the water flowing in this part of Arizona. It's part of the Coconino fault system and is fed from deep in the earth. Just a little edification.
Just another item.. The waterfalls in Yosemite national park, do not come from water from the Rocky Mountains. They come from snow melt from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. You need to brush up on your geography.
Glasses so I can look as good as Jordan for 3 seconds!! Lifelong dream for sure!!!!!! Or, go catch that yack on a cliff and take a pic with the glasses and staple where you met knuckles! Great video
Slide rock is for kids. It's up north higher in the mountain area, much smaller population up north not like the greater Metropolitan area of AZ. Only half of the state is desert not like people think. Glad you could make it.
Snow fed rivers and creeks are so freaking cold! Takes your breath away jumping in. I grew up on the west coast, and the Pacific Ocean is so cold even during the summer. It maxes out in SoCal at like 75°. So now living in Florida and getting in 85+° water, it's really not very refreshing. Especially when it's over 100°! Lol
My family used to camp in Oak Creek Canyon in the 60s. We used to walk to Slide Rock and stay all day. Now, there's too many people who abuse the beauty of Slide Rock. Graffiti and garbage. Nothing good lasts forever. The memories are great. Sedona, was so small back then.
I live an hour from slide rock and have never been but after seeing how much fun you had I might have to go lol. A lot of the lakes and rivers in AZ come from snow melt which explains the cold and are our safe haven from the heat in the summer.
I've always watch your UA-cam channel your UA-cam channel is the best I love when you dive down and find a bunch of knives guns and scooters all kinds of stuff you are the coolest guy I was wondering if I can have the glasses? On 12-year-old live in Missouri but please.
I love watching your videos! I live in Lake Tahoe and have thought my location with how touristy it is and the many rivers to float (rip 2 of my phones), it would be great to treasure hunt in! Stoked to see Nora repping an LT sweatshirt!
Jordan!! another great video!! I need those glasses man - I need those to wear with my camps of kiddos so I can continue to make them wonder just exactly how crazy I am. They will fit in with my vibe!!!
Sliding down Ice cold Water at Slide Rock in Sedona, Arizona feels like finding Christian Dior blue lens sunglasses: a luxurious surprise amidst the giggling mob of kids, all vying to be the stars of their own splashy adventure!
As a born and raised NW man, this video makes me smile. I always wondered how you did the stuff you did. Now I know... WARM Florida water! Haha love you brother, keep it up
Y'all should check out Seven Falls near Tucson....lots of people visit there, especially during the winter months with the snow run off. So yes, more cold water. It's about a 3 hour hike to get there.
Great video definitely worth watching and them Dior are fire and worth the watching of the video and I just want to say thank you for the videos and love seeing people have fun swimming and looking for treasure
So as a lot of people don't commonly think about is that water goes down the path of least resistance in other words, when storms happen and rainfalls, water is deposited upstream usually in a lake. Then, through millions of years it cuts that gouge that looks like slide Rock. Also because of the constant flow of water the slide rock is being affected by a laminar flow through a long time makes the Rock slippery.
I love those glasses so much, my comment is, Welcome to Arizona from a fellow Floridian, Where swimming is fun till you go to get out and the desert sucks every inch of your body heat out in rapid time and freezes you!
I went to slide rock in 1975 and it was so much fun. It was beautiful and cold! The water is that cold because it is snow melt that travels through the rocks and canyons. I went in August and it was over 100 degrees, so it was bearable. The oddest thing about the place was that we were wearing shorts over our bathing suits and our suit bottoms got shredded by the rocks, while our shorts were fine. 🤔😳
I want the Dior glasses because if they look that good on you it has to look amazing on me or maybe it's your natural beauty when wearing the glasses and I wanna look swaggy like you 😂 I love your videos.
Love your videos! Can't wait to see what you,Brenton,& Paul did ìn Porta Rico?!? But I would love the"Christian Dior" glasses so I can rock them looking like "Doc" from "Back to the Future "!!!! LOL!! Pick me!
Brevard, North Carolina is the home of Sliding Rock. It's a pretty cool place. If I remember correctly, it's a pretty long ride! Just found your videos!! Lol be them!
Well, winning Dior sunglasses would ensure that you're not just blocking the sun, but also blocking out any fashion faux pas from reaching your eyes. It's like having a stylish filter for reality!
What?! Who the heck complained about you kissing the camera?! I loved that! We could see how excited, appreciative, and happy you are doing what you love. I don't want you to stop! 😭
I want the glasses because I like ur channel so any treasure from you I would be stoked :) also sewing you go in the freezing water made me itch to go swim in some lake Michigan water
The two main and most common sources of our rivers and water sources west of the Rockies is Snowmelt and Springs, in that order, though many of them are actually both. Thus why to those from warmer places, it's so dang cold. To me, I love it, and isn't very cold 😂. Was in fact just spending time wading in one of our rivers here in Oregon relatively close to it's sources, and it was not cold to me at all 😅
I would greatly appreciate these sunglasses because they are reflective and cool looking. Again I would greatly appreciate and accept these Christian Dior sunglasses
I love Sedona I grew up in Cottonwood and my sister and brother went to Zaki Gordon institute Slide rock is fun I still think you should go to Lake Havasu and dive there especially after spring break. 1:00
Also you should get into arrowhead hunting.. People spend ALOT of money to get there hands on specific prestine arrowheads. Not only that, rivers like this are greatly known to have some sort of previous life objects.
I had so much fun on our dive! I know a warmer spot for next time🥶😆
It seemed so warm before you even got in but then
Havasu is a great place to treasure hunt and the food by the bridge is amazing.
Hi Nora
Yeah ya'll need a warmer spot next time
Go to the Salt River in AZ…they have tons of inner tubers…I know I have lost lots of stuff
13:54 It was nice to meet you out there at Slide Rock! Just wish knuckles could of got in lol. We're still hiking and traveling the US give me a shout if you want to join! Safe travels.

Oak Creek comes from the watershed. It's spring water.
