- Maxson Goh Films a long never ending line of public buses at Singapore Changi Airport (mainly Mercedes Benz Citaros) that were stuck as a result of a bus on Service 110 breaking down in the single lane bus terminal.

Dangg, I was at the Airport right before this happened. Luckily i got my bus back before that Bus 110 broke down.
This is not the first time happening lor. The CAAS and the OCCs still doesn't seem to have a contingency plan after the precedent case. With the in ramp and out ramp still the same, single lane, the OCCs should be authorised to divert the a big part of the queue to skip the basement of T3, and allow for temporary alighting points at departure hall instead, as all are of single deck buses until that basement recovery is completed. No point for the buses to continue entering the basement when they're clearly not going anywhere and not picking passengers, it just add salt to the wound. Plus, all bus stops beyond the airport will be also be affected.
I'm quite surprised that buses did not seem to get diverted (I cannot confirm this) but considering the huge number of buses that got stuck instead of bypassing T3, I'm guessing something at the contingency department happened that didn't go according to plan.
@@glitchFan2428 SBS did authorise their buses to bypass T3, but by then alot of buses were alr stuck in the jam so many buses ended up getting stuck

SG1104R I took it yesterday and it alr have a problem when it start up its engine aft a short break at T2 at around 3pm

Video taken is not the point of incident. Location where the bus breakdown happen in the terminal(terminal 3 underpass where all the buses came in) This cause backlog of buses stretches from point of location till airport boulevard(after e'way).. bus breakdown left stale right in the middle of the road.. AES was there, to ensure no leakage.. Tow truck had to reverse in from the front, and immediately remove the breakdown bus so as to free the long snake buses waited for prolong time...

Single lane got its problem ! Once a bus broke down in serangoon way towards Chomp Chomp. All vechicles are not passable !

Yes, citaros are by far the most common bus model sighted at the airport
On third day of CNY I took a bus 27 in wrong direction and I ended up in Changi Airport and then I allowed it to loop and continued to Hougang. It cost me an additional hour.

Were there any mitigation measures in the interim to avoid causing service disruption in the reverse direction?
They should've diverted the route directly to the departure halls (the route used for Airport DD trials, aka the taxi stand locations)
From my understanding that is the usual protocol, not sure why this was not the case here.

There wasn't. The SkyTrain doesn't go out of the airport so it can't help these buses

LTA should reconsider re routing the bus stops to the departure halls instead of basements, and make use of double decker buses to prevent these delays in the future 😉

Is there a alternative path where if a bus breaks down they would use that path?
The terminal design only allows for one bus to pass at a time. Usually there would be a diversion to bypass the affected terminal but last last that apparently did not happen. I'm not very sure.

wow... i would've been so pissed if i was one of the people at the terminal waiting for the bus. did sbs/smrt seriously take 1 hour++ just to resolve this?
I mean removing the bus is one problem having a constant loop of bus coming in cnnt be stop and maybe the problem of the lane being single contributed to the factor so maybe they needed 1hr to clear the arriving bus to the affected area trying to slow down the on coming buses from coming in

Especially with electric bus takeover, I feel that even the crappiest of public buses we have today will be missed and will always have a place in our hearts, after they retire once and for all. More soul to the diesel buses......R.I.P. 😭

In bus terminal at changi airporr only have single lane that is hard what if bus breakdown in the drive but at least need to makes space for 2 lane so that less traffic jam

I think LTA should introduce MB CapaCity and MAN A24 E6 4-door bendies.
Amd also enable 2-door boarding and 2-door alighting.
