History of Ferretti Yachts
Norberto and Alessandro Ferretti opened the doors of Ferretti Yachts in Italy in 1968. Initially, the brothers were owner/operators of a luxury car dealership, but an affinity for yachts led to their creation of a 32-foot (10m) motor/sailer that debuted in 1971 at the Genoa Boat Show. The yacht was met with much acclaim and by 1975 the brothers set aside their car business to focus solely on building yachts; and ones that truly revolutionized the industry. Ferretti’s power yachts were complete with stern bridges that opened to cockpits - this had not yet been seen on the market. The brand continues to grow, garnering notable customers such as Sophia Loren, Richard Burton and Brigette Bardot. Since then, the brand has gained notoriety around the world as a leader in yacht building. By the mid-2000s Ferretti’s annual revenue topped $550 million, proving the company’s popularity has never waned. With more than 60 dealers located in 80 different countries around the world, Ferretti boasts a global presence that allows it to serve its customers no matter where they cruise. Throughout the years, Ferretti Yachts has expanded to Ferretti Group by acquiring a variety of other yacht brands, including CRN, Mochi Craft, Riva, Pershing and Itama.
