We’re not allowed to politicise D-Day but Sunak can prioritise politics over D-Day. What a little turd.
Ummm.. How is inviting Zelensky not politicising it?
@@sueyourself5413 I’m specifically referring to Sunak’s take on events, ie his words, from his mouth, about what and how he should be held accountable for.
@@sueyourself5413Zelensky is a head of state.
I find it humorous near the end of that interview he started talking about all the positive policies his party has introduced for veterans. Which is y'know. Politicising the event after all?
The real insult is that 8 million Russians gave their lives to fighting
fascist Germany. The scum western leaders have airbrushed them out of
history, accused Russia of being fascists for invading Ukraine when in
fact Russia is smashing the Ukrainian fascist armed forces.
Mel Stride is a typical tory, full of waffle and a very bad liar....
Stride is just plain full of BS
No matter what you ask me, I will say this line. Can we move on? Look over there! Runs out the studio.
What a w⚓️
Just imagine the shitstorm that would have come Starmer’s way if he’d done what Sunak had done? The Tories continue to lie about the 2 grand tax hike Labour are intending, yet continue defending the indefensible for what their shyster leader did.He knew it was the International D Day event with the leaders coming,he could quite easily have cancelled his political interview.I mean Sunak has walked out of heated interviews before! What he did was disgraceful and unforgivable, and shame on the Conservative ministers that keep defending this.😾
Sunak returned early to lie about not being a liar !
Mel Stride adding insult to injury Utterly Shameful!
The tories are absolutely fu#*&ng despicable.
Rishi is just like Boris... a self service narcissis. He only cares about himself
That's tories for you!
Unlike Sunak, Boris has charisma (even if you like him or not), the basic awareness of his patriotic duties, and was up against a weak opponent.
@@Billy_Rizzle Charisma?????. Is that what you call Charisma?. Give me a break.
@@Billy_Rizzle "Boris has charisma", that buffoon! but thanks for the laugh. Boris has charisma, what a joke.
He's the prime minister of the UK who is payed to represent us and skipped school early.
He left work early without permission from his boss, the British public. He should be sacked immediately.
@@TheSuperPsychoKillerCompletely agree. This was the International D Day event with world leaders there, and it represented the British,Canadians and the Americans who landed at Normandy. While he attended the British event earlier that day, this was a massive snub to the Canadian and American veterans who were there and what the Canadians went through at Juno beach and the Americans at Omaha beach. He could have done the interview after the event, but he thought that was more important! And I hate the way Tory ministers are defending his apology, the worst being former soldier Johnny Mercer. If I was him,I’d have had a right go at my boss, regardless of the consequences.Just imagine if Starmer had done something like this? The Tories and right wing media would have been going crazy!
then wants to conscript our kids to the army!
He is THE Crime Miniature. Nothing to do with being PM.
"There were events in the diary before the Election was called"
Like D-Day, which went into the diary on 6th June 1944 and has been an annual event for 80 Years!!!!!
Exactly Jason
And, you know, Sunak actually called the election. It didn’t fall out of the sky.
An apology for leaving D-day ceremony's early is not good enough, the gall to do it in the first place shows how little he cares for the country.
Tbf Rishi probably wishes the other side had won
Agree with you entirely. An apology is wholly worthless for a gaffe that should never have transpired in the first place.
Over 4000 of our men killed in one day. To give us our lives today and Sunak can’t stay for an afternoon to meet the survivors who are there for the last memorial service. What a snack in the face for them and us whose men were killed not just on the first day.
It's incredible. Sunak had to leave the D-day commemorations in order to try and spread some lies. Absolute joke of a man.
What a load of rubbish disgusting the prime minister and this government
What load of rubbish is disgusting the prime minister and this government?
@@paulannable3734 every tory
@@ozzie2612 every Tory is disgusting the prime minister? And this government?
@@paulannable3734 that's what I said
So Sunak had a long standing commitment to do an interview defending a blatant lie he told a few days earlier 🤔
"long standing" the day of the 80th!! anniversary was known quite some years before, did they make his interview plans in the 1940s ?
Bloody heck you just can’t defend this!
Another embarrassment for this embarrassing party!
Indefensible!! Complete dereliction of duty!!
His party has fucked the country and now people are saying this? Hahaha Jesus Christ
I think anyone would be honoured to be invited to such a momentous and important occasion and for him to just leave is unbelievably disrespectful.
I'm fed up with hearing politicians "apologise"!!!!
Yeah we know they don't mean it. #Smokeandmirrors
The Tories only apologise after they have been fond out about their lies and incompetence.
@@WilliamWatt-xm2gu Exactly!
Exactly why a lot of people are sick of the Tories, their lies and their excuses.
No sympathy for Stride, another useless minister
His lack of judgement on this, explains so much. He and his party are unfit for office.
its ok cos Laura Tory will defend it....
Rishi Sunak deeply cares about … his family fortune. He couldn’t be there because he couldn’t be bothered.
And how much has his family fortune increased while he’s been prime minister, I wonder. Fucking crooks the lot of them. This country is so soft to allow these politicians and their cronies to milk the system.
There is one simple answer to this slight - Vote them out and keep them out.
It's not even a talking point. Sunak is in California. He doesn't give a shit about anything else
14 years. That's how long you have let them get away with it.
tories only think of themselves
I will never forget it even if there is a bigger gaff
Oh dear I take he drew the short straw for doing Sundays rounds in trying to defend the beyond indefensible🙈😆
It's a question of decency, that why the Tories can't hande it.
Only excuses is is not proportional to the insult of leaving... It's another insult !
Defending the indefensible. Politics at its worst. We all know why Sunak came back early, to have an interview with ITN, to refute the fact he'd lied in Tuesday's debate over the £2000 tax rise. Politics preferred over the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of D Day. D Day, the Longest Day. For Sunak, the Shortest Day, as he ducked off early.
Sunak only cares about "british" veterans. This is embarrassing 😟
He doesn't even care about the British veterans. As he didn't even want to go there at all it's been reported. 😡😡😡
So he cares about British veterans, don't see him doing much for the thousands of veterans living on the streets, with very little help with their mental health problems and having to rely on charities for support. An excellent advert for enlisting, join the armed forces and once you have served you will be ignored and given no support.
Out and out liars
My Son is a Veteran and he refuses to come back to this stinking sinking country because of how they are treated once they have served. Left with mental health issues on the streets in tents that Cruella wants to take from them. He/they could not care less about Veterans. Past or present. The Tories make me sick. But the people who voted for them disgust me even more. It's not embarrassing. It is disgusting. No British PM should ever stoop to. But he is the son of immigrants to this country. He is more Indian than British. Modi's puppet. Unforgivable.
We all know most MPs of any party never give an answer to any question but the Tories are in a different class.
A senior minister, over three days, fails to talk to the PM about a crisis that threatens them with annihilation, no wonder the Tories have made such a mess of running the country.
This is exactly why the public have so little faith in politicians
"We should've left them to the nazis" - Tories 2024.
They would have been at home.
Well they behave like Nazi maybe Richie was upset there was not a Nazi memorial. Our vets were on the wrong side he thinks maybe 🤔
Quotation marks? Who are you quoting? Or just they would say that guffaw?
@@brettonsmith8534 you're looking for hard hitting, fully sourced journalism, in the comments section on UA-cam, for free? Good luck buddy. 🫠
D-Day didn't appear in his diary before the pre-election diary entries
My guess - Not important enough and anyway all those foreigners will be there.
Yes, precisely and I have now added a comment about that.
Down and down they sink, dragging us all ever deeper into the shit.
D-Day has been on the same day for the last 80 years. This PM is a disgrace. We need Government of people who represent and respect the people, the country, the values and most of all the sacrifices made by families for generations.
Its laughable, defending what cannot be defended - things in the diary? What a load of rubbish!
Not only is Sunak bad at politics, he's bad at lying. This is his 'Barnard Castle eye test' moment where WE know he's lying, he KNOWS we know he's lying but he's so arrogant and entitled he doesn't give a toss!
To be a good politician you have to be a good liar it seems, unfortunately.
@@3ric238 He's not even good at lying, what's more he doesn't care if we see his lies, we are, after all, just the Hoi Polloi.
To be fair to Sunak, he was rushing home to continue campaigning for his loss at the General Election.
The Guy that demonises the Vulnerable he has to lose his seat!
He’s trying to defend the undefinable with lies and stupidity. On D-Day, these brave men made
the supreme sacrifice of giving their lives for their country and democracy. And yet Sunak can’t
even be bothered to pay them the full respect that they truly deserve. Please everyone punish
the vile uncaring Tory Party in the General Election for this outrageous behaviour.
Why does Stride look like he’s actually enjoying his abject failure to justify the behaviour of his leader? The Tories need an intervention. They are spiraling into oblivion.
Let them spiral, for everyone's sake.
They keep pissing in our face.
You can’t defend the indefensible.
Doesn't stop 'em from trying.
😔
@@PercivalBlakeney Unfortunately not.
The Tories are so stupid and incompetent that they try to defend what they have done with
more stupid barefaced lies. Which only makes the situation even worse, but they are clearly
to stupid to even notice that their lies have been exposed for everyone to see.
he was hoping that attending the ones in england would keep the masses happy, whoops
If Slimy Sunak cares so much why are there so many ex-servicemen/women living on the streets?
Spot on Max, everyone knows why he came back, he was upset about being called a liar.
Richie’s heart ❤️ is in India 🇮🇳 with all his billionaire family. “Judge me by my actions” he says. Yes the whole of Britain 🇬🇧 and the world 🌍 will judge you on this one Richie
I'd say his heart might be more likely in San Francisco, or somehwere nearby, as Tony Bennett's was (in the famous song), or somewhere else in the Golden State. I can't see him hanging around for long if the all but inevitably forecast dénouement proves to be correct on July 4. He could always book a private jet to leave on Friday 5 July, after announcing his resignation as Tory leader and, if he's still an MP (by no means a certainty) resigning as MP for Richmond, North Yorkshire.
So is Cameron's heart in tax haven Panama given his old man was stashing cash there? What about Drax, is his priority Barbados given his forefathers stashing hundreds of millions in plantantions over there? Sunak isn't unique- Tory MPs are *not* patriotic
Just another Tory sleaze story my point is , all Tory’s are sleaze masters in it for themselves
His heart is with money and power. #TYPICALTORY
Great look 👀 for our first PM of Asian decent right
If he cares for veterans he has to show it. Truly. I couldn't believe when I read about his going back to UK in the middle of. Veterans who fought and died for our democracies. That are threatened again 😭
I think this is what happens when you´re a rich kid and nobody says "no" to you, or "you´re behaving like a total prick".
A Tory Prime Minister who admitts to being deeply sorry for leaving Europe. About bloody time😂😂😂😂
Rushi was just there for the election photo.
There is no excuse, this date has been in the diary for 80 years and new appointments should have been planned around it
Why do they bother doubling down on lies the public knows are not true. Game over.
It’s like Trump’s refusal to go to the war cemetery because it was raining. Unforgivable .
He wasn’t even going to attend at all.
It's still hilarious the whole "this was planned way in advance" which tells me he never gave a damn about the allied commemorations, a disgrace that he planed other stuff over our allies
Is it possible that a first generation Brit. never grasped the significance that the D-Day celebrations have on the collective conscience of the United Kingdom?
I am sure there are people on here who have lost fathers and brothers on D-Day .
Sunak's parents were born in Africa, one in Kenya, the other in what is now Tanzania, both were probably born after the end of WW II. So maybe their grasp, and that of their only child's, of the importance of D Day is far less than mine, as my late father served in the Army in WW II and went over to Normandy a few days after D Day? Perhaps someone should have told Sunak to read the book or watch the film, both entitled 'The Longest Day'. Incidentally the latter was shown only last Sunday, 2 June. Perhaps I should send him my DVD copy of the film, then he might end up being a little more educated as to the significance of D Day than he clearly is currently?
Can you imagine if Starmer had done something like this? The Tories and right wing media would have torn him apart! And to put that shyster David Cameron there as his stand in! I just hate all of this, the shame it’s bringing on the UK.And for Tory ministers to continue defending the indefensible, the worst being former soldier,Johnny Mercer. What has Sunak got over this party?
What I find stunning are the reports that Sunak was originally not going to the DDay event at all.
Hes acted out 4 seasons of The Thick Of It in less than two weeks 😂. I can't see him last till july 4th
The people who selected Sunak to be leader in the first place are at fault.....he is unelected !
He went to all the British events and ducked the French thinking it would appeal to the gammon. Who are the most offended. He really is out of touch.
The worst PM ever Friday summed it all up
The Tories wanted to distract us from 14 years of failure by turning it into a vote between the characters of Sunak and Starmer. Then Sunak blew that electin plan up in two days.
5th july I will be having a party after we vote this scummy lot out. all welcome to join me.
Thousands gave their lives to defeat the Nazis on the beaches of Normandy and he couldn't be bothered to show up, with all the other international leaders, to witness the full commemoration. He put cheap party politics, and lying propaganda, above commemorating the dead. He and his hapless party deserve all they get on polling day.
He came back because he had an eye test appointment at Barnard Castle.
Mr Sunak referred to it as "The French event". Omaha beach was taken by the allied forces.
That TV interview was more important to sunak than D Day?!..
They never have an answer, it’s always “what I do know” but never an answer.
There’s no excuse, he left to do his electioneering.
You know what. Good luck to Him.
The Conservative Party hasn’t got a prayer.
Brexit, Rwanda, Ppe scandal, NHS, the doom list…
America , when Sunak Hits the State’s he’s taking every achievement with Him like leprosy.
👏👏👏👏
They are crapping themselves
Strides name was on the duty roster for talking to the press after a Sunak blunder.
It’s the usual Tory thing, do what ever you want and if discovered just apologise after.
“Sunak is deeply patriotic” …..Aye to his clandestine paymasters…….The Indian Government!
They continue to embarrass themselves trying the to explain the embarrassingly inexcusable decision
Let me get this straight. Sunak organised an interview to double down on claims he made during an election debate weeks before the election was called and before the debate was organised? And just by chance, this had to happen on an extremely important international celebration day that was organised many years ago? I'm still trying to get my head around this. The timeframe is therefore:
1) Organise interview to double down on claims during hypothetical debate before hypothetical election.
2) Announce election
3) Organise debate
4) Make tax claims during debate
5) Go to D-Day celebrations
6) Leave early to do taped interview programmed before any important decision had been made.
7) Say sorry because you were found out.
How could an interview about the election be in his diary before he called the election . Is one of his advisors Mystic Meg 😂
Rishi’s “Make the Voting Map Even Redder” plan looks to be a rousing success so far!
He wanted to give the middle finger to France to impress Reform voters.

Fits in with him not wanting to attend at all.
Not sure of the source, but it appeared to be a statement rather than speculation.
If true, it's even more reason to "look over there. Nothing to see here"
*He left to SLAP the D-Day Veterans in private!*
This is what made people mad about, Johnson... he'd perpetually do wrong and just apologies and move on, nothing to see here. Those days are over!!
Whenever they get caught out, they behave exactly like the kid with his face covered in Nutella coming up with all kinds of wild reasons why it wasn't them.
It's very much a "not sorry for doing it, but sorry for being caught" kind of thing.
Did you hear Rishi basically say that he'd already been to a few veterans events already! Guess he thought he'd done enough for those people. Just sums up his premiership!!! Do the minimum for the masses!!
Sunak gives consideration to nothing. He simply doesn't care.
If he did, he would have stayed.
Sunak is for Sunak.
It's not like this event came out of the blue. We've known for 80 years when the 80th anniversary of D-Day would be...
An absolutely utter disgrace that he left. There is no excuse. Shame on Sunak.

Haven't they learned anything from Party-gate?
Suppose it could have been worse if Jimmy Dimly or Chris Gulp were sent out, suppose Stride was on the BS duty roster today.
Mel Stride the man that has a 6 Million pound house through dodge Tory dealings
It's one thing to stand on the shoulders of giants, but it's another thing to spit on their graves. Disgusting.
Amazing
Rishi it was not a mistake it was deliberate he said he had an interview lined up so he left before it was over really disgusting behaviour
Never forget. Never forgive.
At the next head to head debate Starmer should ask Sunak if he intends staying for the whole event, or whether he's going to run away again.
