Just imagine the shitstorm that would have come Starmer’s way if he’d done what Sunak had done? The Tories continue to lie about the 2 grand tax hike Labour are intending, yet continue defending the indefensible for what their shyster leader did.He knew it was the International D Day event with the leaders coming,he could quite easily have cancelled his political interview.I mean Sunak has walked out of heated interviews before! So maybe their grasp, and that of their only child's, of the importance of D Day is far less than mine, as my late father served in the Army in WW II and went over to Normandy a few days after D Day? Perhaps someone should have told Sunak to read the book or watch the film, both entitled 'The Longest Day'. Incidentally the latter was shown only last Sunday, 2 June. Perhaps I should send him my DVD copy of the film, then he might end up being a little more educated as to the significance of D Day than he clearly is currently?

Thousands gave their lives to defeat the Nazis on the beaches of Normandy and he couldn't be bothered to show up, with all the other international leaders, to witness the full commemoration. He put cheap party politics, and lying propaganda, above commemorating the dead. He and his hapless party deserve all they get on polling day.

Let me get this straight. Sunak organised an interview to double down on claims he made during an election debate weeks before the election was called and before the debate was organised? And just by chance, this had to happen on an extremely important international celebration day that was organised many years ago? I'm still trying to get my head around this. The timeframe is therefore:
    1) Organise interview to double down on claims during hypothetical debate before hypothetical election.
    2) Announce election
    3) Organise debate
    4) Make tax claims during debate
    5) Go to D-Day celebrations
    6) Leave early to do taped interview programmed before any important decision had been made.
    7) Say sorry because you were found out.
