A couple of cool new techniques for this DIYer. Thank you.
G’day mate. You’re very welcome hopefully others will give it a try in their home shops 🍻
Very cool. I was surprised at just how much the pipe pumped up from just the tap pressure. Thanks. :)
bluehandsvideo G’day Mike. I was surprised also mate when I was standing there watching it. Glad you enjoyed it. Can’t wait to see what you’ll create with your new GoPro 👍🍻
@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Considering I've had a hero4 sitting here unused for many years.....I'll be lucky if I even use the 9. lol As soon as I fired it up, it said it had a wifi connectivity issue. That was yesterday just after I opened it up.....been sitting since. I just want this stuff to work.....I'm really sick of buying tools like that and having them turn into projects before I can even use them. :( That set tru chuck better not become a problem or it will become a thousand dollar dent in my floor. lol Oh.....my tungsten grinder showed up later in the day.....I might see about playing with that today. :)
That's really cool. I want to start making custom truck toys
Like the old tonka construction trucks!
Thank you. Now that would be very cool. I loved the Tonka toys from 70’s. 👍
Gday Aaron, that worked extremely well for MDF, I’ve never seen the forming by water pressure before, that was interesting, thanks for sharing mate, cheers Matty
Hey Matty. Good to hear from mate. Yes that hydoforming is interesting. I first heard about it with Harley Davidson forming their V-Rod frame and then I saw that Colin Furze do it on his channel. Hope you’re keeping well buddy. Cheers 🍻
Great video Aaron. i like the use of the pressure washer to form an exhaust for a motor bike Thanks for the upload.
Nick D Nick my brother from another mother. Thanks mate I’m glad you liked it. I was blown away when I watched that guy do that. That was the good old days when we could travel and mingle with one and other. I pray we can get back to some normality in our lives soon 🙏
very good video..thanks for your time
Thanks Ty glad you enjoyed it mate 🍻
Bloody good! Thanks mate
Campbell Umbers Thanks Campbell. Much appreciated mate 🍻
Hi Aaron,
Cool video... I have never seen the hydro forming before... very interesting thank you.
Take care
Paul,,
The Knackler's Workshop G’day Paul. Glad to hear you learnt something from the video mate. Hope you are ok over there. The Virus 🦠 in the UK is all over the news here. Hopefully your stickers should arrive this week 🤞. Warm regards Aaron 🍻
@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering The virus is spreading quickly again... we lost 50k people earlier this year, hopefully it will not be that bad this time.
I hope so too Paul. Fingers crossed 🤞 it doesn’t hit you guys too hard. Sending you kind thoughts and prayers 🙏
Interesting video . Cheers .
G’day Max. Yes it’s something a little different from my norm. Cheers mate 🍻
Great Stuff!
Thanks Sam. It's something different from what I usually do. Cheers, Aaron.
Great video Aaron!
Thanks Gil. It’s good to keep busy during these Covid 🦇 🦠 times 😂. I wonder what the outcome will be later on today?
Design Creativity & Technology Channel You're kicking huge goals! Well done. Hoping we can catch up really soon!
Gil Poznanski thanks Gil. Yes buddy me too. We are long overdue for a catch up mate 🍻
Love the hydraulic press concept, never thought about using one like that before. Mythbusters made a pretty cool parabolic mirror (I think?) using the hydroforming method that was demoed in the second half, but I didn't realise it was so accessible to get started!
Maybe I shouldn't be scared to try folding or forming something in sheet metal one day. Thanks for sharing :D
G’day Adam. Glad you found it interesting mate. It was something different from what I usually do and I hope others learn something. Used to love Mythbusters back in the day. It was an awesome show. Hopefully your stickers will arrive this week. Cheers mate 🍻
@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering thanks Aaron! Hope you had a great weekend :D
I have done metal forming.
Thanks Tranja
Awesome content thanks
Thanks Joe 🍻
It would be a lot easier to clean up after the water blaster than the usual grease gun method. Thin material like that seems to work fine at 1500psi, the 10,000 from a grease gun not required.
G’day Mike. Not wrong buddy. We used to use the grease method to remove the spigot bearing from the crankshaft. Bloody made a mess. Hope you’re well up there? I bet the weather is nicer there than here ATM. 🍻
It's pretty juicy up here already? Winter is a thing of the past.
I'll send you an email directly. I have a couple of questions for you.
Mike Newman It’s bloody cold here mate. Sure shoot me an email or give me a call tomorrow if you like 👍
You could use tape to secure sheet metal.
Yes double sided tape would also be an option.
Hi mate 👋 any idea what sort of tonnage I would require to press form 6mm aluminium sheet which would also have some embossed lettering?
I was going to DIY a 20 ton press using a bottle jack but after watching this I'm assuming I need more than double? Any input would be appreciated 👍 👍
Sorry mate can’t help you with this one. You need to speak with a tool and di maker who specialises in press tooling. Cheers 🍻
@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering thanks for the response mate. I think I will go and have a word with some tool/die makers. Makes sense 👍👍
What is the maximum thickness of the sheet that you can use with that press?
Hi Patrick this sheet was approximately 0.5mm (+or-) thickness. I don’t think it could do much more than that to be honest. 🍻
20 ton press.
No it's not that powerful. I think it was only 10 or 15 maximum
