In a cruel world, a lonely boy finds a mission and a friend. I like how you can tell he's really starting to lose his patience at 7:14 with his body going rigid as he quickly stomps across the boardwalk. Those little details in the monsters' animations really give you a sense of their personalities.
Yep, and the fact that he double checks as he's walking away, small details can make it ten times better.

0:42 the thing i love the most about this few seconds is its the first time you can properly see the hunters face and literally 1 second after you do you have to just book it.

@@Crylyte No, i meant his general area of his head not his actual face. Because when you sneak past him he is in the shadows but when he opens the door you can properly see him.
The Hunter is one of the most underrated characters in the entire game, and his theme song holy shit it hits hard man

A lot of people dislike how normal the Hunter is but honestly there is a reason for him being the most normal enemy in the game being the fact that he lives in the wilderness away from the Signal Tower. This shows some kind of significance to the story since there aren't any other enemies aside from possibly the leaches that act normal in the Little Nightmares series. Yeah maybe the taxidermy humans were a little unusual but that shows he isn't 100% normal, but normal compared to the rest of the enemies.
My thoughts:
I think Hunter is a good boss for the first section and he isn't supposed to be anything great as a first boss either. His introduction in my eyes seemed perfect, but I wouldn't mind seeing a little more to emphasize that he may be an important character to the story aside from kidnapping Six.

Dude, it's literally the only enemy on a horror game that literally hunts you with an gun. No jumpscare or anything like that, you hide and get cover, or no funeral to you. It's one of the best horror charaters i ever saw, and to make it even creepier, he was supposed to have an dog that would chase us
It's a shame we didn't see much of the hunter. Hes one of my fav characters in little nightmares 2. I really like his design and I feel like they should have extended his part of the game :(
Of course they should. But it was the begin of game so he was defeated too fast.
I mean, to me it felt like the Forest section of the game went on for a decent while

I agree, but I do believe the chapter was pretty well set up, showing us the hunter's traps and ways before we slowly meet him face to face. His encounter was a bit brief but it sure packed a good impact for me, making him one of my already all-time favorite monsters to fight! :)

I think the hunter is pretty terrifying and I think why is well the teacher only really tries to kill you when you disrupt her class and the doctor tries killing you if you interrupt his operations! They're monstrous, but mostly focusing on their "jobs." Same with the hunter except his job/hobby is literally hunting you for sport! He has traps set all over the woods to catch tiny kids like you.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that in a world that constantly has giant adult like creatures hellbent on killing you for making the tinests of noises the hunter is the scariest to me. He's actively seeking out those tiny noises and is loading his shotgun and what's worse is this is a world where there's probably a lot of other forests full of bear traps made to ensnare people like six and mono and there's probably dozens of hunters.
He also calls mono a brat in one of his voice lines if you listen close enough lol
@@littlemissdeadly24papyrus36 I believe he’s the only hunter, and I don’t think he’s hunting kids for sport, he was planning on doing taxidermy on six, which is why you saw her in the house, hell. The hunter even has a book on how to taxidermy children called “tax-kid-dermy.” And even has a set of a bunch of small tools just for stuffing dead kids

@@engineer_comeback If you do as I did, and play with headphones it is goddamn deafening and chaotic as hell. Each gunshot made me fucking jump. And it all became so perfect for it. It made my blood pump like no tomorrow and my hairs stand on end.
Boots in the Undergrowth + Hunters wheezing + Loud ass gunshots as he tries to hit you = one of the most tense moments I have had in a videogame.

The interruption of the music and the silence that follows give a brilliant touch to the scene. The suffocating sound of the hunter is another high point. This game is pure dark poetry.
I don’t find him boring at all! Sure, he’s the only villain who doesn’t have a deformity or special “power” . but the thought of a giant with a flashlight, a sack over his head and a gun hunting you in a forest you don’t know I s fucking terrifying, that and also that the ambiance and his soundtrack is so well done, you feel tensión till the end of his arc. I love this part tbh!
In some speculated concept art, we do see the Hunter’s face, which is visibly twisted with one of his eyes either being missing or just non-functional, as well as having a misshaped mouth that resembles a long grin.
This is why you don't leave a loaded gun unattended with the safety off: little kids could find it and hurt someone.

I think the hunter could possibly make a return in a future dlc. My theory is that the one breathing patient the doctor was keeping alive at the hospital could have been the Hunter, but Mono did end up cutting the power to his life support so it’s a bit hard to depict if he’s still alive or not. Also if you check the wiki for the Hunter’s status it says “presumed dead”.
There's no way anyone was in the woods to bring the hunter to the hospital, the hunter actually lives on an island

That moment chilled me to the bone. One second is utter adrenaline and chaos and the next ... nothing.
right, it's soo chilling... the high pitch tinnitis after he got a taste of his own medicine....
The high pitch ringing could just be the feedback from the blast of the gun. To two small kids the shot would be pretty loud.

For some reason, it reminds me of the scene from _Ratatouille_ where the old lady wore a gas mask and hold a shotgun to kill the family of rats after they got exposed.

Nah, I think he's saying something along the lines of "Do you wanna die now?". Kinda shows how "human" he is compared to the other bosses as he's the only one actually speaking coherent sentences.

I honestly hope we get to see more of the Hunter if this game gets DLC in the future. He seemed to have the most backstory out of every monster in the game (besides Thin Man) and I really wanna know more about him!

If there's ever gonna be a DLC for Little Nightmares 2, I think you're probably not gonna kill The Hunter like Six and Mono did but still get a chance to encounter him. It's like when you play as Seven in Little Nightmares 1, basically.

I don't know the fight pertains to this fear, but this reminds me of when I was a kid with my friends in the park late at night and we had to run from adults who would call our parents if they caught us. Terrifying experience at the time.
My reaction to this guy went something like this:
“Oh this is the monster, better crouch and hope to god he doesn’t stop skinning that animal”
“Oh we have to go through this thing, it’s kinda loud so hopefully he doesn’t hear it”
“Oh God he heard it!”
“Get up! Run!”
“OH SHIT HES GOT A GUN!”

@@spottedslash4256 I still sometimes have those nightmares. Most common one is being stuck in a house with a killer. (Killer varies every time). This game is scarily accurate.

I just played the first chapter and I'm kind of disappointed with the hunter,I really hope he's still alive and we get to see more of him in a future dlc :(

Not played the game, just watched the 'boss fights', but The Hunter is definitely the one that had me pooping my pants the most. He was searching intently.
The first chase scene is like when my sister takes the last cookie or something I like.

The Hunter must have the strongest right shoulder ever to be pulling both triggers on that double barrel shotgun REPEATEDLY without fail (he only ever fires once before reloading except for that double shot in the wooden shack).

Now what are the odds of mono and six finding a loaded gun in the middle of the woods and shooting it at the Hunter?
some hunters keep a loaded weapon in a shed, in case they don't have a weapon at the ready. Running all the way back to your home in a ranch wih acres is not quick, so sometimes gun owners and ranch-hands keep weapons in storage rooms in the field. So it's not out of the realm of possibility. My grampa back in his ranch has a gun in a tool shed next to the sheep to ward off Foxes, bobcats and wolves.

The Hunter has to be my favourite Little Nightmares Monster. The entire chapter 1 sequence was a masterpiece in horror.
Imagine being a hard working hunter living in a cabin deep in the woods and then dying to a couple tiny kids that cant lift up a shotgun properly.

Spatial awareness has always been my greatest enemy in 3D platform games. I love metroidvania games even more because they don't have this problem... other than registering that darn jump command too late too often when jumping off ledges...

When i was a kid, i had a nightmare where guy with flashlight and shotgun chasing me through the forest trying to shoot me, it was scary to me but i tried to think positive

I think there is more to the hunter. Yes he is fucked up however , there is a sadness about him. In his home he made his family son father wife and mother out of parts messed up as it is.
The wiki says his species is Unknown so hes not human at all

One boss for little nightmares 3 would be the exterminator who has a spray can that sprays a deadly stream of green gas
And for his neutral special he wields a gun
Without a doubt this is one of the most terrifying and mysterious characters in all of Little Nightmares. His appearance is not that scary but it does generate some intrigue a man without fear And here is my theory. I think that the bag he wears on his head gives him some power It may be that he protects him from thin man attacks, that's why he lives far from pale city or could be superhuman strength since he managed to break the door in the last scene perspective and it happens Something more cute and six shoots him if you look closely at the gun's note it seems that it hit him in the stomach but have you ever wondered why there are two shotguns that means that He is not alone and has a companion, perhaps a friend, his son or daughter, his wife or even his father or mother, and perhaps that companion went to help him and heal the wound this game is like being trapped in the nets of a poem and i love it for it's incredible hidden story. I congratulate the creators for their incredible creativity and work.
I do miss playing games. This game looks awesome!
