Man, people have no idea how hard fixing a car can be. And then they think you are a moron if you get it wrong... That gut feeling is a powerfull thing. Saved me numerous times. I just wish i ALWAYS listened to it.
That diagnosis was impressive. I can only imagine the sense of relief you had when seeing the known good before making your final call. I would have been nervous installing a used part. I'm sure we've all had a few bad experiences with that.
Great video thanks for sharing. UART standard baud rate are 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 112500, 230400, 460800, 921600. The most common in automotive and automotive industrial control I've come across is 9.6kBd & 19200kBd
What an awesome case study!!! I found this in service info "..the ocs identifies if a child or child seat is present in the front passenger seat..." It then gives this info to the air bag module, who also sees the status of the seat belt buckle switch, and makes its own decisions from there. So it does appear the ocs is capable of sending different messages, based on a childs weight, vs a humans weight, and possibly if the weight is centered or shifted, like you said. But at the end of the day -- shouldn't this be a pid viewable by a scan tool?? Your diagnosis was genius and presented a beautiful case study, but could a scan tool and live data have helped here? If not -- nissan and other manufactures need to fix this! lol
just wanted to mention i listen on earphones when the music comes on almost blows ears off so i turn down for music and then cant hear speech which the volume could be the same

Used parts are always a gamble. Its part of the game sometimes. Yes big relief having the good car to test.

Great information!
The timing is perfect on this video with your last one. Good diagnosis. I love seeing someone who wants to get to the bottom of it!
Yea a couple of head scratchers back to back. I do my best to get to the bottom of things. Sometimes I land on my head and sometimes my feet.😆😆😃
Nice job! Keep it up, I am digging your channel. Real world, everyday stuff we deal with!!

The factory scan tool was useless. It had 1 data pid, it was a status pid either on or off. Very disappointing.
Love your videos
👍💯
So you had 2 bad seats
The original and the first 2nd hand one.
What if you got a 3rd bad seat.
2 faulty units must be a common problem
That know good was a game changer. I would have just kept comparing them to my known good.

I will see if the editing software will let me turn it down some on the next video. Thanks for the feedback.
nice 👌🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
