I remember this ride when it first opened. While waiting in line they would play clips of Waynes World on the TV screens. (the old tube TVs) The Mirthmobile limo was out by the diner and it had lots of subwoofers lining the inside. I sure do miss the 90's
Boy, I sure can't wait to go on this again in the summer of 2019!! I think I'll go on this first and then head over to ride Volcano, my favorite coaster at KD! ...Then I figure I'll get in line for the Shockwave before taking on Hypersonic right before I eat lunch at the 'good' pizza place. Finally, I think I'll wrap up the evening with a ride on King Cobra before I scream for my life in the dark on the Haunted River! .....I can't wait!! The anticipation is killing me!! 🎢
@OfficialEthanPlayzYT Me too ...except for Shockwave. It was a bit too rough. I like "Delirium" better. ...btw, glad you got the sarcasm 😉 ...Have a nice day/night!
Everybody's saying that this ride is terrible and gives them headaches I was at kings dominion today and went on it and I was fine. it was rickety but I didn't get a headache I thought it was fun but maybe that's just me
They didn't replace the grizzly but they made some changes and renovations recently to the first drop and they smoothed the track out so it isn't as rough anymore which I personally liked how rough it used to be. @@kidkombatofficial
Indeed, watching this after seeing the Twisted Timbers POV has me thinking meh....Yeah, it needed the RMC treatment big time. This just seems like an uninspiring layout and the beginning section also reminded me of another doomed wooden coaster, Hurcules, which was at Dorney. BTW, has anyone hurled on hurler?
When I rode "The Hurler" it was not 5 years old. I know it was affiliated with "Wayne's World". It was 1998 when I rode this. I was at "Kings Dominion" with my brother Hakin. I wonder if "The Outer Limits" is still open. It was a indoor rollercoaster (in the dark). I never rode it then. I was too scared but I did ride "Rebel Yell" forward. I wanted to ride it backwards but I changed my mind at the last minute. Great memories...
I Remember Wayne worlds being on tv in line as a kid. It was probably 1997 or 8 and I was definitely to small to ride but It was late at night and they let me on. I remember coming up out of the seat and my older brother who is 11 years older then me had to hold me down in place ! Lmao great times
I only rode the carowinds version of this. And the twisted Timbers which is awesome. Carowinds was rough but I could tolerate it, I would take twisted Timbers any day, it’s quite a thrill.
I know this was my third coster and after rebel yell I thought this was nothing........boy was I wrong this was jerking me everywhere up down left and right it started to hurt but then again I was only 7 and that was the first and the last time I rode Hurler I mean the next time I came to the park the Hurler was being torn down and in it's place a new bigger better Hurler renamed Twisted Timbers was being built in it's place but unlike and of the other RMC hybrids this coster is longer than the original. I can't wait to go into the barrel roll drop in 2018. I hope to be there opening day, too.
when i saw the ride go around after the first hill i was like "are you f**king kidding me it goes back into the station" but then i saw it go around the station
Soon I have finish Kings Dominion I also have Hershey Park, Kennywood, and Dorney Park too. Not sure what park I should upload after Kings Dominion? I still have Disneyland Paris too but im having some issues with some of those as one I uploaded over 3 months ago STILL has not been reviewed!
How is rough is this ride compared to Gwazi aft Busch Gardens Tampa? Compared to some of the Gwazi videos this seems smooth. I wasn't too rife everything at Kings Dominion, but I an weary about this one. Of I can Ruhr Gwazi with no pain will I be able to find this?
I always end up with a headache on this ride and im 13. it jerks you and if your riding with someone else make sure to get as much space as possible between you two even though theres not lot of room, if you don't then youll end up hitting each other, colliding heads, etc. and one more thing, don't put your hands up youll smack them in the face.
This looks like so much fun, but according to the comments it sounds like it was pretty rough like Wildcat at Hershey Park, rode that one once and that was it!
Can you try to upload all your KD videos soon if you have more? My marching band is going on a trip to KD and BGW and there's a lot of people asking me to see the rides and your videos are by far the best!
This ride, and it's sister coaster at Carowinds, should be called The Hurter. The most PAINFUL wooden coasters ever. Maybe the one at Carowinds will be better now that it's been re tracked, but re tracking did nothing for the one at KD. The only 2 coasters I refuse to ride. If you care about your neck and spine you'll avoid them too.
This ride was so bumpy that when we finished the hill, my head slammed into my dad's hard shoulder who was sitting right next to me. It was pretty bad...
I actually went on this today, and judging by the people's comment's, this looked like the worst ride ever. I disagree, maybe it depends on what seat you're on. I went with the front, absolutely nobody was in the area (closing time), and I don't get why it's said to be "rough". I may just have a higher tolerance, but the only two horribly rough rides I've been on was the Wildcat at Lake Compounce and the Thunderhawk at Dorney Park. This ride was practically fine, fun, and very nice when everything's crowded.
I agree. These KD fanboys need to learn what a real rough ride is. Their current low pain threshold makes them whinny. If its not some buttery major attraction then they want to kill it.
I actually visited KD for the first time yesterday. Other than the first and second turns, it was bearable. I have listened to non stop bitching from KD fanboys for months, and its pretty hysterical how spoiled they are. They dont even know what a bad wooden coaster is. Even if they do, they want to replace Hurler with some "OMFG crazy major attraction aquatrack" , RMC, or another Intamin. There are plenty of other coasters IMO that RMC could not waste there time and limited manufacturing per year on. So before you try to call me a fraud, just know I have been on 154 coasters in the US, and have been an enthusiast for 10 years. I grew up riding The Boss at SFStL, which is still to date one of the roughest coasters i know of (and will be as long as it runs those god awful Geratlauer trains; same with any other CCI with them too).
I can agree with you, but even though it's just those turns, its still enough to make you waste unwanted money on aspirin. I wouldn't want it to get replaced by some super hyped up Intamin or RMC, I would actually like them to replace it with a different woodie, or at least retrack the ride so people actually ride it.
When you said Wildcat, I thought you were going to say at Hershey Park, because that Wildcat has a reputation of being called Roughcat or Deathcat because it beats you around and gives you a massive headache!
My 8th grade classmates and I are going to KD this May and my friends asked me what ride would be the most fun/thrilling! So, I would like to now what ride you suggest to ride for the most thrills and unforgettable fun! :3 Thanks
Man i hope they get rid of this old rusted piece of shit... i'm pretty sure no wouldn't care because this ride beats the living shit out of you and jerks you too death, plus the lines are pretty much dead now... What a waste of space, i hope they get rid of this piece of wooden crap and put a hypercoaster or an invert coaster...
yeah, like put something else in because every time I go on it I end up with a headache and if I have someone riding with me we end up hitting, bumping heads, or if our hands are up we smack each other in the face, it hurts.
I remember this ride when it first opened. While waiting in line they would play clips of Waynes World on the TV screens. (the old tube TVs) The Mirthmobile limo was out by the diner and it had lots of subwoofers lining the inside. I sure do miss the 90's
And a painted No Way, and Way on the paths
Dude the waynes world thing I remember forsure and the doll heads and body parts. Great memories on this ride
How the hurlers first drop was so weak but threw you into that first right turn behind the station with that incredible force still baffles me
Boy, I sure can't wait to go on this again in the summer of 2019!! I think I'll go on this first and then head over to ride Volcano, my favorite coaster at KD! ...Then I figure I'll get in line for the Shockwave before taking on Hypersonic right before I eat lunch at the 'good' pizza place. Same here. It was pretty rickety, but after getting off the ride, I didn't get a headache.
Same thing with wildcat at Hershey park for me. I think it vibrates a lot but it's not rough or anything. The ride is really good I think
Same. I remember getting on this ride back to back because the line was so short back in 2000. It was a fun ride.
As much as I love Twisted Timbers I miss The Hurler, and I miss the old track of The Grizzly when it was rougher cause it’s too smooth now.
When did they replace grizzly
They didn't replace the grizzly but they made some changes and renovations recently to the first drop and they smoothed the track out so it isn't as rough anymore which I personally liked how rough it used to be. @@kidkombatofficial
@@helotick ok thank goodness because last time I rode it like 2 years ago I think it literally sucked. Will ride again to see when I come back
This ride scarred me as a kid, I wasn’t ready for how rough it was lol
UPGRADE to a (2013) Season Pass Today!
This ride hurts so much.
Just looking at Wooden Roller Coaster 4 make me feel like I am going to hurl.
Everybody is talking about the ride but lol the queue line was insane
So true! And one reason why I guess they used half of it for fear fest’s club blood!
Perfect coaster to receive the RMC treatment so the layout was better
Indeed, watching this after seeing the Twisted Timbers POV has me thinking meh....Yeah, it needed the RMC treatment big time. This just seems like an uninspiring layout and the beginning section also reminded me of another doomed wooden coaster, Hurcules, which was at Dorney. BTW, has anyone hurled on hurler?
2014 was the last time I went onto the ride. I like how they kept the station and rethemed for Twisted Timbers
Oh man the barfing at the start scared the heck outta me
Me too!
it's hard to believe this is what twisted timbers used to be!

Im so sad the hurler isn't operating this season of 2016. That was my first roller coaster EVER!!!!!!!!😭
same
Because they are removing it.
And giving it the RMC treatment.
My first coaster also when I was 12 I think.... 20 years ago
when i saw the hurler tombstone at haunt, i was try SO HARD not to cry! DX
RockCloud Yes, but RMC treatment means that they are reopening it and giving it a steel track. So Hurler is back but it now goes upside down.
This is at the very bottom of my coaster list.
I'm so glad this got RMC'd.
Probably my favorite ride ever.
I remember how long the line for this was when it first opened.
BRAVO to you I must say.. Those turns were so shaky and loud I thought I would fall out! How did you hold a camera???
Me: Ouuccch Little kid:*cries in pain*Me: What did it do to you? Little kid:the hurler needs to be removed now!!

The one thing this coaster did right: the brake run is straight cough cough twisted timbers
This reminds me of The "white" roller coaster at Lagoon, in Utah.
they closed down the hurler i am crying because I use to get on it every time I am at KD
Lilxoxo Beast Well it's gonna be better this year.
When are we gonna see those videos you shot at Six Flags America?

Do all wooden roller coasters make a turn before going straight down?
No, I guess it's just a common maunever on wooden coasters. Also, it doesn't go straight down.

That's not as bad though.

This looks like the Grizzly a little
Which one?
am i the only one that likes hurler
like even after i died on it
they shut this ride down in 2015
Shameka Thomas yep for a RMC redo.
If it wasn’t closed I would have gone on it 100%
Carowinds has this ride
Hurler, Mean Streak and Wildcat were some of the worst wooden coasters of my childhood, 2/3 have been converted for the greater good, 1 more to go
Good ride, but rickety and rough as hell. Ride gave me hip and back problems.
This is nothing compared to what i rode the dragster at ceder point p.s the riga rou at cedar point isn't that scary eaither
Dragster is 400+ feet tall no one compares it to hurler because that would be irrelevant

Is too painful xc
Looks like fun. Would not make me hurl.
