Rocky Point Permit Camp - Belize

The backyard to Rocky Point Permit Camp is the Bacalar Chico National Reserve… “The park” as guides on the island call it, is rightfully revered. And while it’s fished by guides regularly, it’s an hour-and-a-half to two-hour ride from town. It’s a 60-second walk out our back door. We’ll let you mull over the implications of that math.
RPPC caters to adventurous anglers who don’t mind putting in the legwork (metaphorically and literally) to find fish. Having some saltwater flats experience under your belt is a huge plus, though inexperienced anglers who put in the work will be rewarded with shots
Your fishing day starts as early as you desire. Grab a cup of coffee and have at it as the sun’s coming up. Most of the water around the camp is accessible by walking/wading. You can start fishing steps out your door. Golf carts will be available to rent to extend your range a bit. Paddle craft can be utilized to navigate the lagoons behind the camp.
For guests who wish to add guided days to their stay, we’re happy to connect you with the same trusted, knowledgeable local guides we’ve worked with at Cayo Frances over the years. To best maximize guided days, guides can overnight at RPPC the night prior, so you can be fishing at first light in the morning.

Now that’s Backwater Fly Fishing - literally! Cool video Jesse and an exceptional backyard too. I booked a trip to San Pedro with a buddy some time ago and we each found a permit dumb enough to eat our offerings this past spring. Now, it’s almost all I think about, so I definitely want to go back to San Pedro to try it out again. Please keep us posted with what you guys are doing down there, squeaky bobbin and all!
