    First of all new subbie💃🏾
    Am a salon suite owner
    And what you have here is my dream
    You did dat!!
    Everything looks beautiful & luxurious 👏🏾
    I have a couple of questions
    Did you install everything from scratch ?
    Was it just an empty shop when you moved in?
    What the average amount to save up for something like this?

    • @SamanthaPiercy
      @SamanthaPiercy  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for checking out my salon! To answer your questions simply, the salon space was previously an office space with multiple rooms. I found an architect/project manager/construction company to transform the space. I also found a salon furniture supplier that installed all the salon equipment.
      As far as cost, I would save for twice as much as you think you will need. Construction cost can vary wildly and there are always hidden cost that accumulate once the project starts.
      To get an accurate estimate of how much you might need to create a salon, work closely with a project manager once you begin. A project manager will keep you under budget and ensure construction is completed on time.
      Hope this information helps a bit. Start by finding a rentable space and talking to the necessary people to transform it into your dreams! Don't forget there are low cost loans available from the Small Business Administration (SBA) to help you.

    Where did you buy your shampoo area’s towel cabinets?

    • @SamanthaPiercy
      @SamanthaPiercy  3 роки тому

      The shampoo towel cabinets were built and installed by Salon Designers LA. The cabinets are great because they fit three stacked columns of towels in each upper cabinet. I also like the swing door to the trash cans for throwing away used foils. Thanks for the great question!

    What is the name brand of the waiting area chairs ? I looked on target website..can’t find them

    • @SamanthaPiercy
      @SamanthaPiercy  3 роки тому

      I'm not sure if Target carries this particular chair anymore but the brand is LumiSource and the style is Corazza. This brand is carried by all the major furniture companies in a number of different mid-century styles. Hope this helps!

    So nice! Are you booth rental? Do you find 2 sinks enough with 9 chairs? I have 5 chairs in my salon and 3 sinks and sometimes it's not enough.

    • @SamanthaPiercy
      @SamanthaPiercy  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much! Yes, I do booth rent all my stations. If I had more room, I definitely would have added another sink. Unfortunately there are times when someone is waiting on a bowl. Thankfully all my stylists and clients are patient and understanding of the situation :). The salon designer I worked with said 3/4 chairs per sink is recommended. Maybe in my next salon.

      @@SamanthaPiercy I love that you are already thinking of a next salon!
      I co own a 5 Chair booth rental salon that is very team oriented. Thank goodness we are successful but after expenses it basically comes out to me renting my chair for free. We have been in business for almost 5 years. Would love to connect if you had time because I am thinking of going off on my own and would love to know your thoughts on a couple of issues.
      I wonder if their is a site for salon owners?

    Hey I'm in the process of leasing an turnkey salon ! What questions should I be asking the previous owner upon signing the lease??

    • @SamanthaPiercy
      @SamanthaPiercy  3 роки тому +3

      Congratulations! This is a great question, albeit a difficult one to answer in just a few sentences. I guess the most important thing I would focus on is how much revenue does the salon produce monthly/yearly and what are the monthly/yearly fixed expenses.
      In my own experience a salon really only has two sources of dependable revenue - stylist rent/commission and retail sales. Make sure the current salon owner provides you with accurate financials to support how much these two revenue sources generate each month/year for at least the last 2-3 years. This will give you an idea of what you can expect to make in gross income from your new investment. It's also important to know if the current stylists are under any contract and what those terms are. You want to make sure if you are buying a salon full of stylists that they plan on staying when you take over. Also check if the salon owner has signed any exclusive retail product sales contracts and what those terms are.
      The salon owner should also provide you with an accurate idea of how much the monthly/yearly fixed expenses are for at least the last 2-3 years. Again this will give you an idea of what your net income will be after expenses. If the numbers all check out and you can confidently generate a significant net profit then it should be a great investment.
      Thank you so much for this great question. I hope this bit of information helped you. This is a great topic and one I am going to discuss in more detail in a future video.

      @SamanthaPiercy can someone come to the salon just for a shampoo and then drying under the hood? Just for the sake of some pampering? If so, how much would it cost and can a short haired man get it?
