Season 14, Episode 15 "Greenhorn Overboard - After the screen cuts to black, the next scene is Wild Bill walking downstairs where we find him talking to the Greenhorn who is now out of the water and taking off his wet clothes. Bill asks "Is it cold?" to which the greenhorn replies smiling and laughing "Yeah". That's what Discovery couldn't waste their time adding into the short...
No, its because they want you to go cliff hanging so you go and watch the show.
If that was Freddy. He would have swam around the boat and pull himself out on the other side. Lol
Hats off to that crew. They are all badasses and moved crazy fast and efficient, almost looked like a drill. I would want that crew
“GET HIM OUT IF THE WATER NOW”
Yeah thanks Captain what would we do without your sage advice
HexagramMan ...how about “remain calm boys and make a good throw the first time”
@@jasong9502 lets see.... how many words.... GET HIM OUT IF THE WATER NOW = 7 or remain calm boys and make a good throw the first time = 11... well hes 6 seconds short of being alive and well according to your input
THENEVERDEADIV you’re right goof, looks like they just stood around waiting for commands?... sure hope your dumbass isn’t around in a crisis
Don't be harsh on him and imagine yourself in that specific situation. Bill clearly couldn't believe what he saw at first, he just froze and then he panicked. Quite humanly reaction.
@@jasong9502 if you can't understand the words get him out of the water now and comply with it instead of being a reeeeeee screacher then you can get off my boat in the middle of a crisis because non compliance means your not capable of surviving.. you'll probably cry as soon as you broke a nail in the apocalypse and get everyone else killed around you while they are bunkered down... are you a sociopath? Or a narcissist.. those wont last to long in a crisis
This video doesn’t even show a rescue. It was spencer Moore who went over in 2017 and yes they did rescue him thankfully.
6:59 is what you came for. Your welcome. ☺
"Deadliest Catch" has resorted to "click-bait" tricks to sell their product, and flat out lies and gross exaggeration to keep people's attention. Absurd.
Spoiler, the last 3 seconds is someone falling off and nothing else
I will say even though that guy went overboard, he’s one of the hardest damn workers I’ve ever worked with. I did a short fishing stint with Spencer (the guy who went overboard) and he’s a certified badass. This was a mistake that could’ve happened to anyone.
That wasn't really a mistake. Sometimes shit happens. I don't think he did anything wrong. A wave yanked the pot he was hooked to
@@deusvult6920 Sometimes shit happens is the laborers way of saying a mistake happened. Its not self incriminating and in this USA of HR Policies we’re conditioned to speak in a way thats not incriminating. I work for my dad, this would be considered a fuck up and you better not do that again.
RIP Nick and Todd. Seeing them both on the Summer Bay again in this episode doing what they did best just makes their absence even more apparent now.
A friend of mine fished on the Atlantic for years told me how a wave washed him overboard and another wave washed him back on deck. Scary stuff.
That look of shock Bill has at 7:03 is chilling.
That shock was because of the possibility of a human losing their lives....you’re talking about bullshit
@@cofishfinder7269 i know this is an old comment, but why are you telling him he's talking about bullshit? I honestly don't get your comment. He is saying it was chilling, ie scary to see that look on Bills face - because of exactly what you said, hes shocked about someone probably dying in the sea. Same thing the OP also is agreeing with. So where is the bs? lol
@@macman975 There was an episode that bill talked about the event. Apparently the guy that went overboard he knew since he was an infant and actually held him. He admitted that if he didn't make it he wouldn't fish again.
You know why this happened to Wild Bill? He laughed at the super moon. And yes, the man thankfully survived.
@@IlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlIIlIlIlIlIlI The large AF moon was clearly visible, it gets close to the earth sometimes, thats a fact, not a fairytale.
Huge thank you to the camera crew for giving everyone the opportunity to see just how beautiful and dangerous this job is. Bless everyone 👠
Nothing like ending the video before seeing if he survived. Smh
@Jaqen H'ghar The Red God demands a name, for this life the crew of the Summer's Bay has stolen from him.
1:40 never underestimate the power of the sea, when i was in the navy, we were going through some fairly heavy seas, we have these big white boxes, i dont know what they were holding but i was told they way about 800 pounds, bolted firmly to the deck on the forecastle, one of those was ripped off and tossed around like a toy
I heard a Captain once say, and I’m paraphrasing a bit, that there are creatures made to live naturally above, away from, or below the sea, but there’s nothing on earth that was made to naturally live on it.
@@katherinegilmour2573 no one was, everyone was inside, it was a pretty nasty storm and no one wanted someone to get knocked overboard
7:02 That's panic, the kind of panic that makes you freeze for a couple of second.
I don't see any hesitation in the men. Panic is a sense of urgency brother. They did everything right. Panic attack yes, when you cant react, panicking and making mistakes yes, but have a panic sense of urgency yeah. that's what saved his life.
Jake is a good captain with all he has been thru in his life this far and to still keep the up attitude he has shows what kind of man he is
lookin at this now, its so clear hes still on the china white, love the guy but i wanna keep him around, not hear of an opiate overdose
Almost an 8min video for a 10sec long clip at the end 🧐
Cheyenne Duntz welcome to the discovery channel. They are the absolute worst.
My heart was beating so fast when he fell into the water. But I have already seen that before, and he survives. But I still get really nervous.
Man the look on Wild Bills face at 7:03 says it all, no words needed!! But at 7:11 you definitely feel the severity of the situation in Wild Bills voice!! I couldn’t imagine being the one in the Captains shoes when a man goes overboard in the Bering sea in 38 degree water!! You literally only have minutes before your dead!! Every second counts!!💯
I remember when the Time Bandit Boys pulled Trailblazers deckhand out of the water the conditions were just like this Supermoon, 30 foot seas, but it was daylight they got him out and back on his boat once they got to St. Paul.
Bill laughs at moon.
Guy goes overboard.
Moon, who's laughing now?
Well, no shit "get him out of the water", Bill.
Props to Discovery UK for titling the video after something that happens in the last thirty seconds of it.
Wild Bill: Man overboard! Someone get the ibuprofen!
Super Moon says "you laughing at me, watch this." Man Overboard lol.
When I watched this the first time:
It sure looked like the other crewman knocked him overboard when he rushed up to the rail.
Then you get Spencer's story - that he was pulled so suddenly that he didn't have a chance to let go of the line.
You can tell the tension on that rope, that ultimately pulled the deckhand over
5:27 Whenever I see a Seagull fly by the Captains window, I always think of Captain Phil Harris. 0:58 Jacob sounds and looks like the guy from the channel Magic Of Rahat.
"GET HIM OUT OF THE WATER NOW"
"Really? WE HAD NO IDEA"
I’m honestly kind of worried for the guy wearing black rain gear, won’t he be more difficult to find if he falls overboard at night? He should wear bright orange and green like everyone else.
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one thinking that. It seemed to me to be the dumbest possible thing you could do short of hurling yourself overboard.
"Get him out of the water now"
I would think that's the plan 😂 A very good plan!
This is why you never laugh at mother nature, Captain should know better lol
I love the captain yelling get him out of the water now..... thanks a lot chief before you said that my plan was to let him sink
How refreshing to hear a young man giving God the credit for protecting him.
Thanks @Discovery UK... lets just cut it at the best part 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
First time ever I saw a black guy on a Deadliest catch boat.
I seen 1 black guy a few years ago. He told the crew if they didnt take him back to shore he was going to jump overboard.
Jake has killer boss and people skills. Love this guy!
3 top dangerous jobs on earth
1. Fishermen on a big ship
2. Flying a plane
3. Driving big rigs
Crazy bill's reaction...he doesnt know whether to go outside or stay on the wheel....even for me i would be shocked to see my crew fall off my ship....
Luckily the captain told them to get him out of the water, because I don't think they knew that tgey should get him out of the water as soon as possible.
I have never seen bill so scared ever
"its not on me..."... Are u taking the piss, or what!!!!!!!! Everything on board, its your responsability, Mr Captain. You must watch for your crew, everytime. Mandatory.
I'm glad he said " get him out of the water now!"
I'm sure all the crew were thinking that he should just stay in the water for a while and chill...
I just showed this to my 15 year old. She was so angry she spent 7 minutes watching it and it just cut off 😂
Yet during this entire time, theres the unseen Camera Crews boat, effortlessly filming the ship alongside them xD
It's probably one of those mid size military grade boats built to withstand any waves from any side. Camera also has a stabiliser.
I'm surprised Bill didn't say "Fuck him, he was being stupid. I get his share."
The British narration got me haha
He said"God Damn" then his hand was snatched over board! Wow
Jake has became a great captain. And puts his men first before profit
Rule #1: NEVER taunt the Bering Sea.
Rule #2: NEVER taunt the Bering Sea.
So weird hearing someone other than Mike Rowe narrating
They got him back in 90 seconds, literally just 90 seconds
Ravenclaw 06 kinda the type of video you don’t want a cliff hanger for. I’m not a big fan of Wild Bill but when a man goes over, it doesn’t matter, only thing that matters is finding him and making sure he he’s not gonna die.
It was staged if you've even been on a fishing boat you can easily tell
I watched that whole thing when someone falls in it cuts off I wanna see them rescue 🤦🏼♂️
I like the American narrator, but this Scottish guy is awesome too!
Meanwhile the other camera crew is chilling swimming in the waves getting footage
Listen isn't it amazing how something so far away has such a huge impact on the weather on our planet I mean that's pretty awesome and amazing at the same time
3:42 Camera Man to Bill: "Watch Him miss this hook."
“GET HIM OUT OF THE WATER NOW!”
Let’s change your name to “Captain Obvious”.
The super moon is gorgeous
Watching this at 3am lying in bed. MAN OVERBOARD!!!! I sit straight up and gasp!!
Lol at all the "Where's Mike Rowe" comments haha. This is the UK channel you buncha plonkers.
There's great action & camera work but with a dull, boring narrator. Surely they can do better. Doesn't have to be the same style as Rowe, but someone more animated for sure.
@@MeanOldLady We need a boring narrator, us British can't handle to much excitement, it makes us spill our tea.
Man thats the face of a man who is trying to comprehend if what he just saw was real.
You know just by the editing, when that camera drops back to that medium long shot, someone's going over
The way they built that up throughout the whole episode. Coast guard failing at a rescue, Wild Bill talking about holding spencer when he was born to spencer falling in the water. But its not fake
Haha super moon said “Jokes on you!” 😂
Show about crab fisherman inadvertently becomes the best raw footage of rouge waves in history.
Bill be like we can still fish with a 3 man team!😂😂😂😭
That captain froze. Was clueless and didn't know what to do. He should not be a captain
Or maybe you know that shock of what the fuck just happened you price of shit
Best ever show
Omg!! We will never know what happened to him!
Thanks for just showing him fall overboard and not the rescue and the symptoms of the situation
It's pretty damn amazing these big ass boats stay afloat in waters like this
4:54 he sounded like Gabriel Iglesias the comedian when he also says "dayummm" lol
As someone who is extremley terrified of boats and the ocean, im not sure why someone would do this out of free will
@@steviechampagne Discovery bucks? Fisherman have salaries? Fish or no fish? Who knew...

Does the UK version not use Mike Rowe as their narrator?
No because they are retards that call French frys chips and chips crisp

@@ozone2357 London has a higher murder rate than NYC, and they are banning knives, AND England is the MOST violent country in the UK and Europe....so..there's that...
Gotta love a 7 minute video with the last 10 second being the part in the title, and you cut it anyways.
Bill is the most incompetent captain the show ever had. Keith was a bitchy drama queen but had his priorities in order. Bill lost his job and they had to send him to Russia to try to generate more content for the show. Didn't work btw, Russians kicked em out. Man do I miss Phil.
A lot of office workers in here expecting these guys to act the same as they think they would in that situation.
"Those crab are not hungry" no your just not on them my friend pick up and move!
“That was God protecting me right there”
Uh no. That was God almost killing you with a wave.
Bronco, Saved 1 scene of your Halloween skit with the small guy crew that you have Onboard during the next episode 19 seasons. You have the crowd following.
"Get him out of the water now!" Why yes thank you Captain Obvious
How do you buy the UK version lol
When he fell no one know what to do next good job Wild Bill was there to tell them.
Panic set in dude.. you can even see the panic in bill he froze and couldn’t get the words out quick enough
“It’s like a 1inch punch from Bruce Lee, BAM , You don’t see it coming”
I find not seeing a huge wave and seeing Bruce Lee’s fist one inch away, hilarious thing to say .
love these episodes
"That was God protecting me there"
Or the thing you were just describing
Its amazing how everything is great until someone says "bring it on Bering Sea" or some other mocking line. Then boom! Something bad happens.
I guess he survived because this was a month ago and didn’t hear anything
Where's part 2? Can't leave us hanging
But yea idk how they do this job I swear
The deck hands make somewhere between 20 grand to 50 grand in three months so I guess that's why they do it.
Going over board in the pitch blackness of the raging sea is absolutely frightening.
It might be quite possibly the most frightening thing anyone could imagine. It's like falling into the freezing abyss.
@@maxxxmodelz4061 not "like", that's literally what is is lol
